I arrived on the premises of Shockley Honda on a weekday in the evening. I was saw a representative that was not busy so I introduced myself and she introduced herself as Krystal Swanson (I knew we would be get along just fine.) Actually, it was as if I had known her for years (she was very amiable in her demeanor.) She knew what I wanted and she immediately started working on the needs assessment for me but I already had everything in place ready to go. I had inquired about a new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring and we looked for a car that matched my needs. We found the care that I liked with the same criteria and we began the process for the deal. We worked on the deal for about 3-4 hours and that was the end of day 1 at Shockley Honda. On Day 2 of my Honda adventure, I came back on a Saturday when the dealership opened at 9am. As usual Krystal gave me a big, warm, welcoming smile and greeted me. I changed the specifics of the deal because I had too much negative equity on the car so we decided not to trade in the original trade and pursued a different tactic. Now, we are trading in my brothers used 2011 silver corolla S with 88448 miles with a little less negative equity (about 7570 USD). We got a trade appraisal worth about 6300 USD (we agreed to the amount). My brother had signed over the car to me today and indicated that the transfer should go to me in my name. Anyways, we began a new deal and I wanted a used vehicle. Brian, the finance representative wanted me to go with a new car versus a used vehicle so I listened to his logic (I didnt quite understand), but I got the jest of it. We had to try and look for a new 2017 Honda Accord LX to have the approval odds be better for the deal in order to have it financed and approved. At this point, it is about getting the deal approved so I could finance the deal. Brian said he would work on it for today and told me that he would call me on Monday. This concludes my experience with Shockley Honda over the course of 2 days. I had a fantastic experience from start to finish on the 2nd time around! Thank you Kayle, Krystal, and Justin for the superb experience at your Honda dealership!

My sales experience here was less than stellar. They played all the "games" one should expect when attempting to buy a car. I came with my own financing and I was not trying to haggle about price. This was literally the easiest sale they were ever going to make and they still tried very hard to screw that up. I handed my salesman a printed price and said if they can match it, sold. Strike 1: The finance manager still attempted to sell me on their financing even though I had a check in my hand. It seems that "No thank you" is nto a good enough answer here. Strike 2: My trade in became a hassle. They offered me what I would expect for a trade, but where they lost me was when they lied about what they would do with it. They pulled the classic "we are just auctioning this, we wont make any money". Saw my car on their used lot not even a week later with a price for more than double what they gave me on trade. The best part is that they didnt bother to fix any of the glaring flaws I knew my car had. I could understand if they actually reconditioned it, but they didnt. They just washed it and threw it out on the lot for 2x the price. Strike 3: The sales process was terrible. They lost one of the two keys for my car. Now I have to drive back an hour to their dealership for them to reprogram a new key. Youre out Shockely. Its not worth the drive, even if you are the only dealer who has the car Im after. And the icing on the cake? I was given real license plates when I left the dealership, not temporary tags. A week after my transaction, they contact me telling me they have my tags. Im not sure what happened on their back end, but they had no record of the tags they gave to me. So after I have already updated everything on my end to reflect the new plates on my car, they have to send me another set of plates and I have to send the old ones back. I wont be doing business with Shockely in the future. I came with money in hand, didnt haggle at all, and they still managed to make my purchase a complete nightmare.

I have a 2010 accord coupe , i bought in march of 2014 ... Two months after buying it i had a fouled plug that caused poor performance and check engine light to come on , i was charged 200. Dollars for the diagnosis and repair .. After that i had started noticing the car was using oil .. About a qt every 1000 mi.. since then i have replaced 10 plugs , two coil packs .. Due to fouling plugs .. Only recently did i find that a lawsuit was settled in regards to these engine issues. I spoke to a service writer at shockley , she told me they are aware of these particular issues and the lawsuit and if i experience the fouling problem shockley would handle it in two phases. The fouling occured , I took my car in , shockley acknoledged the problem , i left my car for phase one . A month later .. It occured again .. June 11,2016.. Rings and other parts were replaced and car was ready on the 14th. I picked up my car , was follewd by a friend who took me to pick it up , and she observed heavy smoking exiting my exhaust . I went on an errand with it and called that i was bringing it back to shockley monday morning. I dropped it off with Maurice and he assured me it would be repaired "right". Late in the day on the 14th Joe called me said it was all good , that they found an improperly installed piston ring on #3 cylinder.. I got the key from Madyln ,, no paperwork ,, started my car and blue smoke rolled out of the exhaust .. Witnessed by my friend and service writer Madyln , Madyln said to leave it here , i asked her if she thought that was acceptable , said no. She called Joe , over the phone he told her to tell me it was "residue" and it would burn off .. Do you believe that ?

I recently decided to replace my old vehicle with a new car. I reviewed all the vehicles in my price point on just about all the sites I could find on the internet in order to come to my decision. I kept coming back to Honda. The car I was replacing was a 2000 Miata - a fun, easy to maintain vehicle that had given me great service for 94,000 miles. The dealer that I purchased it from was excellent and provided good service. I also own a 2006 Honda Civic EX that I had bought new at Shockley. As they have always taken care of me for both sales and service - I drove down to the dealership to play touchy/feely with the new Honda Civic EX-L. I had previously spoken with Dante Velasquez on the phone and looked him up! We took one out for a test drive, played with the new electronics and other features and sat down to deal. I was not looking forward to the car-buying "grind" and was pleasantly surprised when they evaluated my trade, made me an offer, the Sales Manager stepped in as usual, and when I declined the first offer, met my price and after a phone call with the boss - my wife (head of my finance department) we had a deal. It was that easy! No grind, no pressure and no baloney! Dante was very professional, knowledgeable and wonderful to work with. Go see him for a great car buying experience! I might add, I had been in the wholesale/retail automobile business for over 35 years from an apprentice mechanic to Owner Relations management with a major, big 3 auto manufacturer so I know apples from oranges! If you want the total package - sales, service, parts, customer service and friendliness - go to Shockley Honda!
