Worst. Dealership. Ever. I found a Saab suv online that had a decent price on it not stupid low but not high either, I contacted John thompson the salesman and spoke to him about the vehicle as I was 4 hours away in North carolina. He sent me more pics very far away and told me he personally drove the vehicle and it drives great no problems. I finally reached an agreeable price after he got an attitude with me because I was trying to get it closer to the kbb value. Then I was told it had to go in their shop to pass inspect and get cleaned up before I came on Saturday, it was wed. After him assuring me everything was fine it would not pass inspection because of the front right wheel bearing and tires. So naturally I wanted to renegotiate the price to which he started cursing at me saying Ive already got it cheaper and I dont deserve it because I was paying in cash and not financing so they could make more money off me. After speaking to the general manager because John cursed at me several times calling me names the gm told me he didnt mind him cursing at me but he would give me 500 off the price for the problems. So on Saturday I drove 4 hours up to d.c. and get to the lot John comes out looks like a coke head and just tosses the keys to me and says have fun. The vehicle was missing paint off the hood and had several big dents and scrapes all along the side and he took the pics in a way I wouldnt be able to see it. Then I get inside and start it up and none of the a/c worked and either did the radio at all! The abs light was on and so was the check engine. The right rear door was missing a handle and there was a tear in the leather, this was all after him assuring me that the vehicle was in pristine condition which I made him say at least 5 times before I drove up there. Now I work at a dealership in North Carolina as a service manager so Ive been a mechanic for years which is why I went through so many details with him before I drove and told him how upset I would be if it wasnt what he said it was. So next I took it for a drive for the hell out it and man I have never heard such a wicked noise under the front end of a vehicle. It was a awd suv and the right front axle was tore up the differential itsself was messed up too. I immediately drove it back and confronted John about the condition of the vehicle I showed him everything and took him out for a drive as he told me there was no problem and it was perfect before I came and told me I would have no issues on the way down to nc. Right as we got back he said so what are you telling me your not buying it now? I mean this guy was crazy he then told me if I wasnt he wasnt going to waste a minute longer on me and to get off the f****** lot. I then went in and confronted the sales manager who pretty much told me the same thing as I wanted compensation for wasting 8hrs of my time and gas money to drive up there for nothing. They pretty much told me to get lost. after I was an hour down the road the sales manager called me and said he took the suv out and it sounded like it was falling apart and he agreed with me and offered the vehicle to me for 2k less! I told him to get lost as I know it would have cost 3 to 4 just to fix all the problems it had. I then complained to the gm, corporate and consumer affairs for all dar cars and they would not do anything for me or to John for lying to me like that. I would not recommend them at all, all they do is get terrible vehicles cuss to their customers and rip people off. Like I said Ive worked at a reputable dealership in North Carolina for a long time as a service manager, Ive seen all types of salesmen come and go but I have never seen one sooooo rude, disrespectful and had one cuss like that before. If it was my dealership the salesman and his manager would both be fired for stuff like that. It really blew my mind!

You should always trust your gut! I had read the reviews on DARCARS and thought the negative reviews were probably just people blaming their negative experience on the dealership, since everything else was mostly positive. I still didnt have a great feeling walking into the place (Ive never seen more unprofessional looking sales people), but we ended up finding an older vehicle with low mileage within our price range. This part is entirely our own fault--I know never to sign contracts when trying to chase a toddler ever again--but we came home and realized the final price of the vehicle was TWO THOUSAND dollars more than we had been told. We called our sales person the next day, and he assured us this was because of the repairs we had agreed to have them do (we had thought it just needed an inspection and battery--but again, this was our own fault). I wasnt terribly happy considering we have a family friend who is a mechanic and $2000 seemed incredibly steep, but as long as we wouldnt have to service the vehicle for some time, I figured it was a lesson in learning to listen better and review everything prior to signing contracts ever again. Not even a week later, the car just turned off while it was being driven. We had it towed to our mechanic, who put in a new alternator. After explaining the situation with the battery, he told us based on what I had said, it was pretty obviously a bad alternator, not battery. No big deal though, people make mistakes and alternators can just go bad without any signs. Except he also informed me the car had an oil leak--something not so easy to miss. When we went back to DARCARS with our concern, we were told that the price we paid ($2000 more than we had been told, and $1500 more than KBB value) was just the price of the car, and we should have purchased an extended warranty... which we were never offered. We had more than one sales person on our purchase, so it is definitely possible something got lost in translation (not to mention that, again, I realize this is partially our own fault), but I will never be doing business with DARCARS again. If the vehicle had been the original price we had been told and they had been upfront about the repairs, this would not have been an issue at all, but I feel lied to on numerous occasions.

The worst dealership EVER!!!! Id recommend an auction before Id send someone to this dealership. Went in and paid cash for a dodge magnum. They overpriced it by several thousand dollars and when I told them I was going to walk, they lowered the price, but not before trying to compare with other dealers selling the same car for more. However, the other dealers cars were in much better shape. I still feel like I gave them too much money. Door handles literally detached from the door and could barely get in the car because of it. The wagon door on the magnum wouldnt even stay open. The shocks were gone. The Salesperson held it open for me to see the spare tire and then closed it and never told it me wasnt working. When I got home and opened it and it almost cut my arm off, I called back and this the message I received via text: "So I talked to my manager and he said that we cant do nothing about it because the price you paid for the car wed be literally losing money...I looked it up and its like 50 for the latch...probably cheaper at a junkyard and its easy for you to do yourself, you can you tube it....I know youre probably like damn but man u got a hell of a deal on this car for the price you payed" Of course I replaced the latch myself but it was the principle as I explained. They dont fill the gas tank. Car was almost on E. Who does that?!! I asked the finance guy about the inspection papers he gave me to sign and he got smart saying he doesnt know what that stuff means. People ask him all the time and he just says hes the finance guy. Common sense says if youre giving someone papers to sign, theyre going to ask you questions about it. I bought the car in December 2015. Ive literally parked it in my garage and left it there because its shaking when Im sitting at a light or something. PLEASE GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
