I wish I had read these reviews before I came to the Perfect Stitch. At the first meeting the ladies seemed very nice and like they understood what I asked for. I brought my dress in to them well over six months before my wedding. My only requests were to take in the sides on the top, add more beads on the bottom, and take out a few of the layers. When they told me the price, I told them I could not afford that much, as I was paying for the wedding by myself. Melissa then scribbled out the price on the receipt, and told me she would make a beading centerpiece as a discount, and just charge me for the regular beading. While it was still more than I was comfortable paying, I agreed, thinking this would be the end of it. When I went to my first fitting, nothing had been done to my dress, which was very disappointing. I tried it on, and Melissa pointed out that I need bra cups sown in. I agreed, not knowing I was going to be charged $40 for this. At my next fitting they had taken out some of the layers, but that was it. When I tried on the dress, they told me they took out the layer that had the bustle, and charged me $60 to put a new bustle in (one that was extremely difficult to use). The next two fittings she didnt have the beading done, and had put in EXTRA layers in the bottom, making my dress even heavier than it was when I bought it and a complete waste of money. I honestly think she got my dress mixed up with some one elses. My bridesmaids and I called to make sure she had the beading done, because she had not made much progress two weeks before the wedding. When I went to go pick my dress up, we found out she had taken it in too much. I had lost a significant amount of weight, so I knew I hadnt gained any in the short amount of time. It barely zipped, and I bulged out the top of it. There was nothing we could do, since we were leaving to get married in Mexico. We ended up cutting out the bra cups (another $40 down the drain) and the dress wouldnt stay zipped throughout my wedding. I was calm throughout the whole planning process, but this dress situation brought be to tears multiple times. I now understand why they write ALL SALES FINAL or NO REFUNDS on the bottom of their receipts. I have warned everyone I know, as this cost me an unbelievable amount of money that I couldnt afford to spend. Wedding dresses should not be a stressful and horrible experience.

The wedding dress that I was going to wear for my wedding no longer fit when I tried it on two weeks before the wedding. Absolutely devastated, I called my Matron of Honor and she had her dress from her wedding, so she rushed over and I tried it on. It fit, but not well. It was just a little too big, and it was filthy from her wedding four years ago... not to mention, it was still bustled and we couldnt get it un-bustled unless we cut it. We took it to the ladies at The Perfect Stitch, without an appointment, and they welcomed us with open arms and made me feel like a queen from the moment I walked in the door. I had heard that no one would be able to do that much altering to a wedding dress in two weeks, plus clean and press it, but these ladies did. They took the dress in and hemmed it, re-bustled it, cleaned and pressed it. Thanks to The Perfect Stitch, I had the perfect wedding dress on my wedding day, and no one knew that there was a small catastrophe with the old dress. Thank you so much, The Perfect Stitch, for helping behind the scenes and making me feel like gaining a few pounds was no biggie. You saved my wedding day and my self esteem :) I would recommend The Perfect Stitch to any and everyone.

Melissa at Perfect Stitch did my wedding dress and I love it! After an impersonal visit to an indy bridal salon, I knew picking something off the rack wasnt going to work for me. I took my vision of a 2008 Oscar de la Renta dress to Melissa and she instantly drew up a sketch, showed me some possible fabrics and got to work. I had my first fitting about 6 months after I first met with her and I was a bit disappointed that it was only the pattern in broadcloth. But thats how the process goes, she assured me. So if youve got less than a year and youre looking for a custom dress, this might not be the place for you. Ive had several fittings since and Melissa has been willing to make adjustment, even rip out a sewn-in sash that was already done, when I had concerns. She responds to email very quickly! Overall, a great experience. Melissa feels like family now and Im so pleased we chose Perfect Stitch!

When I came in for my final fitting she seemed to have completely forgotten about my alterations. The dress had not yet been hemmed and taken in, and she said this was just a regular fitting (although my wedding was only 5 weeks away and I had already had one just a month before to finalize things!) I was disappointed with the outcome when my hem was way too short, and the lining of the dress was somehow sewn up into the fabric on the left side. Needless to say I had to purchase a new dress 10 days before my wedding so that I actually had something to wear. Thankfully the wedding is about the wonderful man I married and not what I wore! I just would recommend being very cautious and to make sure you check in to ensure your alterations are being done on time, and properly.

Do not go here. The lady was rude to my fiance and my daughter. She made us pay up front before she did any of the work to their dresses. Also we were getting married in Las Vegas and we found out that we were going to have to check my fiances dress as a checked bag and my fiance called the receptionist at The Perfect Stitch to see if they had steamed the dress yet and they hadnt. My fiance my crying when she called and asked for them to give us our money back for the steaming part only, but the receptionist said we cannot get our money back, all sales are final and they hadnt even steamed the dress yet! So we had to get the dress streamed in Las Vegas again. Very unhappy and poor customer service.

I took a dress in that I purchased online. I wanted to have boning adding to the abdominal section of my dress. I was told that this was not possible and that my only option was to add a strap. After trying on my dress with the starp I was not happy with the results. I paid a total of 267.30 in alterations and the dress was not correct. They charge a 145 pressing and storage fee. As a result I pulled my dress early and went to another place. I was able to get the boning added to my dress. And pressed for free. I hate that I have paid all of this money to still have to turn around and pay another person for somethingi was told could not be fixed.
