The customer service here is terrible. I have been to the store twice now and both times, the staff were downright rude. My first visit was to look for a tool to cut angles in wood. I was completely new to woodworking and had no idea what to look for so I explained what I was trying to do and asked what I should use. The staff showed me a small hand mitre box and a very expensive variable hand mitre system. When I explained that these didnt really fit my needs, the staff person said "Well, I guess your project isnt getting built then" and walked away. I had never experience something like that in a store before. I ended up asking my coworkers about the project and was directed by them to buy a power mitre saw at Home Depot, which worked perfectly for the project. I assumed that maybe I caught the staff on a bad day so I recently tried visiting this Rockler location again, this time to ask about lumber. I spoke to a different staff member than my first visit but the experience was the same. I asked if he had a moment for a question about lumber and his response was "Our lumber is back there" and he began walking away. I politely persisted and tried to ask my actual question (Does Rockler sell dimensional poplar lumber?). He answered "No" and began walking away again. I tried one more time to ask if he might know of any other lumber sources that might sell that type of poplar and he curtly replied that "No one sells that anywhere". That sounded strange to me so I went home and called various lumber sources in the Atlanta area and they confirmed that they can sell it. So either the staff at Rockler lacked knowledge of how lumber is sold or simply didnt care. As someone who is new to woodworking and is excited to get into the hobby, I was happy when a nice woodworking store like Rockler opened near me. However, based on my interactions with their staff, I will not be returning and I cant recommend it to anyone else that I know.

I went to this store a few times to just look around and get a couple small things. From my experience, customer service is pretty lacking. The worst case was when I went to ask for help regarding hand saws. The guy I asked for help had nothing helpful to say whatsoever. He didnt even know what saws were in the store. I finally had to directly ask him to walk over to the hand saws just to get him to see that the store carried more saws than he told me they had. However, that didnt help much because he then just told me to look on the internet for information. So then I thought, ok maybe this guy is just not helpful. That wasnt the end of it. I stood around for about ten minutes trying to get someone else to help me because I really wanted a handsaw, and knowing one experience isnt everything. Well I couldnt get anyone to even acknowledge I was there. One employee, the only nice/helpful person there was with other customers, another employee was walking around the store on his cellphone avoiding me as I was walking around looking for someone to help me, and the fourth employee told me he was going to lunch. Needless to say I do not plan to go back. I ended up just going home and buying a saw I looked at in store on Amazon.

Consistently disappointed with Rockler. Online service and shipping is abysmal. The customer service in the store is not only well established in the woodworking community as rude but also very incapable of giving good information about the things they sell and speak about. Have heard and received so much bad information from the Atlanta store and its so common that its a sort of running joke in the woodworking communities. Customer service does NOT exist at Rockler. This is how Woodcraft stays in business.

Bought my lathe there and another few hundred dollars worth of stuff for pen turning. All are always patient and ready to help regardless of how many times or high "newbie" my questions are. I cant say the say for WC. WC is hit or miss, and dont see them wanting to bother with "newbies...at least the location near me. Rockler is always my first choice even if its not the closest to me. All the guys there (Jeff, Jim, Larry, etc. are great.

The people I spoke to were not knowledgeable in the areas I needed help. They pretty much knew what they had but didnt know (or couldnt explain) how things worked and what were the advantages/disadvantages or the various models they carried. I was told to Google it a couple of times. It is a beautiful store with lots of stuff but so is Amazon and you at least have customer reviews and answered questions to help you there.

I went in to ask about a specific product that they rep for and nobody had a clue nor did they seem to want to find out. This was a product in the $800+ range and with all the bells and whistles could have been a $1200+ sale but I seemed to know more about the product then they did. Unacceptable. The GM needs to train his people better at least. Ill buy elsewhere.

Your associate Jay is terribly rude to customers. My child was quietly standing beside me holding a $2 wooden ball and he came up and said "She cant play with that. Put it down". She was holding a ball. Not running up and down the aisles screaming. After this experience today, we will not be back. I will take my business elsewhere.

The staff wasnt much help to me at all. They seemed to have zero product knowledge and lack of customer service. Decided to head over to the Home Depot down the street and they gave helpful answers and were friendly, which was the complete antithesis of the Sandy Springs Rockler. I wouldnt recommend getting any advice from those guys.

Went with my dad to look at wood for a piece of furniture we plan on building. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be returning for future projects.

In the one month that we have lived in the neighborhood we have been to Rockler Woodworking and Hardware Sandy Springs at least 8 times. They have exactly what we have wanted and friendly helpful staff too!

The staff at this Rocklers are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable. The store is rather small, and with most Rocklers, some material, especially hardware is over priced. Shop around.
