My review will be strictly from a service standpoint, as I purchased my bikes elsewhere (before discovering Trek Atlantas awesome service!) I have been to some of the highly touted bike stores in the Atlanta area for varying degrees of service on my bike, and Atlanta Trek has been THE BEST by far in every area. All of their staff is friendly, and knowledgable, but their tech Jason has been a standout. Ive been to Atlanta Trek in McDonough for many different service/repair reasons, but Ill try to keep this short enough to not deter you from reading it all. I have a 1996 Gary Fisher Montare as a "back-up" bike, and I try to do everything on it as cheaply as possible. My bottom bracket was creaking badly, so I brought the bike into Atlanta Trek where I discussed the issue with one of their techs, Jason. Jason explained to me that due to age the bottom bracket/bearings might need to be replaced, and then he gave me a quote on pricing and time range. To my surprise he called me back a day sooner than expected, and informed me it only needed the bearings, and the price was WAY less than the original quote. The bike rides perfectly again! This could have very easily been sold to me as a complete BB overhaul, etc. I also own a Specialized hybrid bike that had its front derailleur suddenly stop shifting properly. I brought the bike into Atlanta Trek on a Saturday (today acually) during a VERY busy time, and Jason asked me if I wanted to drop it, or hang around for a bit to see what was up. Within 15 minutes, and only $15.00 later he had it shifting perfectly again! What turned out to be a minor adjustment could have very easily been diagnosed as a need for a "whole tune-up" or even replacement parts, etc. I will continue to bring my business to the McDonough Atlanta Trek store, and Id encourage anyone else to give them a try who thinks that bike shops in Atlanta must be great because of their size. I wont name names, but some of the biggest bike shops in Atlanta have left me wondering why their service departments stay so busy, because Ive never been treated as well as Atlanta Trek has treated me. Thanks Atlanta Trek for being awesome! - Tom Hornsby

I purchased a road bike in August of 2015 as an aid to help me get fit. I told Atlanta Trek I wanted to ride mostly on smooth paved roads and trails, and at my current physical size and fitness level I didnt thing an aero-frame bike would make much difference for me. They showed me an aluminum frame Emonda with a full Shimano-105 11-speed groupset. The last time I was on a roadbike with drop-bars the shifters were on the steer tube so I had to learn how to shift with integrated brake/shifters; this was an easy learning curve and except for my backside not being conditioned for a racing saddle, and being in cargo shorts the ride was quite comfortable. I now have two full riding kits with bib shorts (padding is builtin to the shorts where your nether regions rest on the saddle), and get off the bike knowing I have a good workout, but feeling great. I didnt end up getting the test bike, opting instead for the first level carbon frame version of the bike with the same groupset. Atlanta Trek fit the bike to me, along with top level road cycling shoes and installed the cleats for the clipless pedals I purchased for the bike. The clipless pedals were another learning curve, but one I think is well worth it; once Im clipped onto the pedal I feel much more secure in really pushing hard to climb a hill or do short sprints. They also outfitted the bike with accessories to use my phone as a cycling computer, and an essential puncture repair kit. Atlanta Trek helped me fit a helmet, and I have been chomping at the bit to find time to ride ever since. The shop also sponsors basic maintenance classes, rides, and other events to educate cyclists. The shop owner is friendly and very family oriented, the rest of the staff is also very friendly. If youre in Henry County and looking for a place to shop locally this is the place to go. This store has several flavors of road racers, mountain bikes, fat tire bikes, cruisers, comfort, and kids bikes. They can also access Trek Project One which allows the customer to specify what they want in some models of bike, from just getting your favorite color to a full-out professional tour level racing bike, or even below UCI weight limit.

$560 for a trek bike and I get an email saying there may or may not be a defective part , that there is a recall and not to use the bike and bring it to the store. So I Ioad the bike up and get to the store about 15 minutes before closing. Now, they have a record of my buying a bike with a serial # so I am not sure why the sloppy record keeping couldnt tell them if my bike with my serial # was defective or not. Anyways, the guy there at the McDonough Trek store says the he cant tell me if mine is defective and that a mechanic has to look at it and check. So, Im mad then for wasting a trip thinking the place was open for business. So I ask how long will it be to get the bike back and he says a week or two! So I ask him, "so, this $560 bike I just bought Im not supposed to use and I just have to do without a bike for two weeks?". He shrugged and said yeah. Well, I guess they dont overnight parts? I had actually had in mind to get a better bike there, but this sure soured things. See, trek sells bikes that run into many thousands. If you buy a "cheapie" bike that is just $500+ you get no respect. They assume your some poor broke dead beat that shouldbnt be hanging out at the Trek store. This really infuriates me. I could buy quite a few of the best bikes they have, and some run over five thousand, without needing a loan. I will say that there are several other bike shops within a five mile radius. Anyone wanting a bike should look at the other places because you may not like getting defect recall emails and shoddy treatment when you take your bike in. This is a real person, with a real complaint about the trek store. Anyone can look at my profile and ask me in detail about the situation.

I usually service my own bikes, but this time at my wife’s prodding I elected to drop them off at TREK. I have been riding and racing (in my younger years) for over 25 years. My wife said I needed to take a break from working on our 4 bikes so I did and what a waste of time and money. I took my Trek, my wife’s MASI, my sons Bianchi and our daughters Felt to be completely serviced and some parts installed. When I was told they were done, 1 week late we went to pick them up. Their "bike mechanic" ("working on bikes for three months") stripped one of my shifters by over tensioning the cable, none of the bikes shifted properly and all were dirty. There were greasy hand prints on all the frames and the chain and cassette were never cleaned. I had also left upgrade parts for my sons Bianchi, which I was told they couldnt put on because the parts were not compatible with the bike (I installed them the next day). I was told my shifter must have been "going bad" before I brought it there. The owner’s son was one of the "Techs" which helped work on my bikes. When I got the parts back they said would not work, some were missing and they couldnt find them. I went in the shop and low and behold found the parts under one of their benches!! I paid for the "Servicing" and before this had purchased many things from the store, but I will never go there again and advised them of that, that day. My advice, give your business to Epic Bikes off Jonesboro road or Bluemoon Bike shop in Grffin if that’s closer.
