I had previously rated Duma Meats as Excellent all around. I had been visiting almost weekly for years, and had purchased bulk meats from them twice. Recently their quality has gone down hill, and I recently found out that if you have a problem, their customer service is atrocious. First Ill start by stating I understand how when meat isnt grown in a factory farm the quality can vary from cow to cow. Recently though, weve gotten a few things that didnt seem as fresh as they should, or the quality was sub par. The quality I chucked up to problems from the past years drought, but added issues of freshness added to my concern about their product. About a month ago I purchased two steaks from them to cook the next day for dinner. They looked fine in the store but by the next day they had turned greenish and smelled almost spoiled. I understand that food goes bad, but it should not go this bad less than 24 hours after purchase (unless its something obviously time sensitive like fish - steaks are not fish, heck steaks are even dry aged!) My husband and I tried contacting them in multiple ways about the steaks we got, and every time we were told its our problem: they dont use "persivitives" (quote from them) on the meat, its our fault for not storing it right, its our fault for not cooking it fast enough. All we wanted was for them to know, for them to acknowledge it was a bad experience, apologize, and say theyre working so it wont happen again. We werent expecting free stuff or anything, theyre a small business for goodness sakes. We used to be regular customers, their workers asked where I was if I hadnt been there the previous week, I always had a friendly chat with Amy when I was checking out - and this is how we were treated when we had a problem.

Went to Dumas a few months ago. I bought 20lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts, 10lbs ground beef, 4 racks of pork ribs (baby back) and a few other minor things. The prices were great, on par with typical grocery store meat which is much lower quality. Everything was delicious. They dont use any preservatives whatsoever so you either have to use or freeze the meat within 24 hours. The chicken breasts were massive, I think they may breed their chickens with Pterodactyls. Is that a thing? Not only were they huge but they tasted great. The ground meat was also fantastic. I could smell the difference in the quality while I was cooking it and the taste was fantastic. The ribs were also amazing, very meaty, very tasty! Go to Duma meats! You will not be disappointed!

I liked Dumas until they confirmed they use GMO in their meats! I will not buy from them again until they stop. Genetically Modified Organisms is very dangerous and should be taken seriously especially by a meat provider that customers trust and feed their family! If you research the effects of GMO seeds that are used for corn to feed the cattle and then your family eats the meat which leads to serious health issues even after eating them for the first time like allergies, cancer and immune and intestinal problems in your children. Please make them aware of your concerns so they can stand up for whats right and change to non GMO meat. I would love to go back as a customer but instead will go to another natural provider

Great local shop and good quality meats. I especially love their ground beef and country sausage. I use their country sausage for making biscuits and gravy! I have tried, a few times, buying their boneless chicken breasts and was not happy. They are chewy and I can taste the layers inside the chicken. I have read online that this is an indication of poor quality meat. I called Dumas and asked if they source their chicken breast locally and they stated they get them from a farm in Michigan. When I asked about hormone usage, they didnt know. I expect more from Dumas. I guess I will be getting my chicken somewhere else. As for the beef, this is the only place to go!

I have three small children. I have been going to Duma meats for 13 years now. My children love to go so they can go see the cows or what ever may be up in the corrals. The animals roam up near the road. It is great to see cows up close. The smell going into the market is just wonderful. Reminds me of my hometown butcher as a child. The prices are resonable. The employees are so friendly. Dave and Debbie will take the time to help you with anything you need. They carry stuff that other meat markets dont anymore.

Dumas has a fantastic selection of any kind of meat or cut you are looking for, beef, pork, and chicken of course, but also deli, fish, buffalo, and even elk. Even if you dont see what youre looking for on display, they can often get you a particular cut of what you need in the back, and they are eager to help you get exactly what you need for whatever you are looking to cook. It really is more of an experience than your stereotypical trip to the grocery store.

Great meats with a decidedly wicked religious undertone. The whole experience is rather cult like. Amusing, yet frightening, all at once when you find bible quotes on your pork chops. It makes you stop and ask yourself, are these guys for real? Let me assure you, they are completely serious. So... arm yourself with brainwash protection and get yourself some holy meat! Praise this bacon and bless this chicken breast.

I have always liked steaks, but the rib eye steaks here made me fall in love with steaks all over again! Weve been going here for about a year now. We get bacon, sausages, chicken, chicken wings, hamburger, cold cuts, pork chops, roasts, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. and they are definitely excellent.

Wow, I just bought a short loin and let me tell you something what a bunch of Untrimmed bull crap. I will never spend my hard earned money there ever again. The quality has left the building and me too!! I can take a ban saw to my meat too( and i didnt get all my cuts ).

If you buy your meat somewhere else you dont know what you are missing. You wont find fresher meat or a better selection, and the price is better than grocery stores on almost everything there.

Fresh fresh fresh! Local meats, butchered on premises, attractive prices, good value. The place is always packed when I go there. I dont buy grocery store meat anymore.

Love Dumas!! Best place to get meat. Great prices too. I always get all meats from Dumas. Never a bad cut of steaks or roasts.
