BEWARE--this awful store sells expiring, moldy pet food--without an expiration date in the bag, without letting you know, then when you realize its moldy and old within 2 weeks of purchase under their 30 day return policy--they tell you youre stuck!! Theyre SO RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL--a miserable bunch of people under one roof trying to make everyone else miserable! They flat out denied returning these 4 bags of rotten chicken food they sold unknowing me 21 days earlier, and would not return it!! Sonya the manager was a nightmare--telling us "I aint taking it back--No!". Then I was heckled by the old lady collecting carts who was listening on headset to this miserable interaction. I contacted Laurie, the Human Resources manager at their corporate offices, acting in charge as the COO, Jerry Gibbs would not take my call, and she promised shed get with the store manager about their awful treatment of my family and I, and to facilitate a refund and guess what! They still wont return/refund the food nor will they call me back to attempt to resolve the issue! $100 wasted by trying to patronize the Big R and feed my chickens organically--only to have the Big R be okay poisoning my chickens selling me rotten food. AVOID! Ill never shop there again and I recommend everyone shop at the many decent stores for your feed needs!

Take your money some place else. Their web site stated the store had 4 Roundup sprayers #190367. I went to the store. only one on the shelf. I ask customer service where the rest are as I needed more than 1. Her answer,"Idunno. the staff went home at 5." another employee says he will go look but acts like it is a pain in his ***. Customer service says to come back tomorrow. ReallY! I wouldnt have gone to the store if they didnt have what I needed. I would have gone to farm and fleet instead. Manager individual comes to customer service counter and says it isnt the employees problems that they dont have the correct number of products on the shelf, it is the corporate problem. Wrong! Now its my problem. Both the manager individual and the customer service girl both had a smarmy attitude. This store is a joke. If you need agricultural equip or other farming needs go to Rural King or Farm and Fleet.

Seen a sign that pets are welcome so ended up coming back 2 weeks later with my small Jack Russell and I thought they were going to tell me something and as soon as I pass that entrance door, they greeted my dog and I and gave him a treat and another extra one to give him. Really liked that and no my dog isnt a service dog, you just have to clean up the mess they leave if they go potty. Big Plus on that, I wish I wouldve gotten the ladys name too say she was really generous and helpful.

Big R was a nice addition to Homer Glen since the shopping center had been vacant for some time. Big R sells all the hillbilly accessories I need to feel right at place in Homer. To top it off they sell baby raptors in the spring, the sales associate tried to convince me they were baby chickens, but they looked nothing like McNuggets so I highly doubt she was telling me the truth. Overall though very cool store.

Id just go in here because it smells MANLY. Oh, and their prices are reasonable too. Got my son a Ertl John Deere dump truck for Christmas...it had the best deal around (including Amazon). Great selection of all things hunting, farming amd for wanna-bes like me. ;-)

Dog friendly. Used the dog washing station primarily which was $10 and very easy.to use. When I looked around the store the prices were very good for dog toys, food, as well as work boots. Place looks kinda dingy, but its how its intended to look.

So many wonderful things to buy here! Its great for any novice (gardner/small farmer) to full on farmer. Loads available for hunters, canners, or any outdoor enthusiasts! Great sales, helpful and friendly workers.

Has many of the oddball items many places dont carry. Items for pets, clothing, boating, fishing, livestock, auto, work, you name it. Even a limited selection of food. Big R is awesome. Great prices too.

Its a great place for chicken feed and other farm feed and has alot of pet food for a great price. I enjoyed browsing the isles. I bought a cute summer dress and my husband got a pair of running shoes too.

This is a field trip for "old stuff with the kiddos" - Toys no one else has, old-fashioned food aisles, chicks in season, fun dog & bird stuff, and great clearances on kid clothes! Love it!
