Once upon a time there was Gabriels and a few other large liquor stores to take care of your liquor and wine needs. Gabriels is still around but has been over taken by the store giants of Specs and now Total Wines as well. Total Wines feels a little more upscale than Specs. If you are familiar with San Antonio merchants, its comparable to the more glamorous HEB Alon Market as opposed to say Target. The selection of beer, wine, liquor, liqueur, hard cider, and bar necessities is mostly unmatched in San Antonio. You also have the capability of ordering online for pick-up as Specs may also. The prices are competitive and are the same whether you pay by cash or credit card. The Rim location of the store can be pretty busy with traffic especially on weekends. Its such a nice place that you can wander for hours ogling over the tremendous amount of choices available.

Im jealous. Mi esposa has been here a few times (holding out on me!). I only recently visited and was blown away in every regard. The store is spotless and very nicely laid out. The wine selection is AMAZING. Youll find wine of every type and in every price range. The staff are helpful and friendly. We luckily stumbled in (but not out) for a free wine tasting: 6 in the front and 12 in the back. Wow! We took home several bottles to stock up. The cigar humidor is very nicely stocked with cigars that were fresh and smoked perfectly, beginning to end. Nearly every product has an expert rating to guide you. What more do you need? OUTSTANDING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

We went to Total wine looking for a present for a friend turning 30. I spoke with Richie, this stores spirit expert, told him my price range and that I was looking for a 30yr whiskey for my friend. This guy didnt disappoint and helped me find both a whiskey for my friend, and a spectacular scotch for myself. I will definitely go to him in the future; great customer service! The 30 yr was a hit success, very smooth and delicious!

Great option to find almost any spirits and wines. Great selection of beers too. It got a little messy and understock before the holiday season. I wasnt able to find 18yo scotch neither the tequila brand I was looking for on the shelf so I had to wait 10 minutes for them to bring it to me. Im sure that after the holidays, it will get back to normal.

They have everything you need here. Beer, wine, alcohol and even sausage/cheese and crackers. The manager greeted me with a smile when first walking in. This place is like Jurassic park except for adults. I was impressed by their extensive variety of every brand. You wont want to go anywhere else.

I LIKE the store Alot...just we didnt feel welcome..we didnt get any greetings from any employees...and at the register we comment to the cashier that we like the store and that it was our 1st time visiting the store and she replied by saying "is a very dangerous store" .... Lol

Not only did this place have all the beer I wanted (german and belgium and with the choice of the normal or pint bottle) but the staff was super nice (Jay in particular) They even have a loyalty club which in my experience is rare for beer shops. Definitely will return.

Terrific selection of wine and liquor. They also have a lot of neat supplies for entertaining. You can order online, and you can pick it up in the store, which is very convenient. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The prices are excellent, too.

Huge selection, unbelievably low prices . . . what more can be said about a great liquor store? OH! The employees are really fantastic. They are extremely knowledgeable about pretty much everything in the store. Fantastic for help with pairings and such.

A good place for craft beers and local (SA area and Texas in general) spirits. They do interesting tastings on the weekends and also carry smaller independent wineries and spirit makers that can appeal to a wide range of tastes and wallets.

Worse ever. I guess the employees really need a customer service class. Customer service was horrible. Its a shame because we hold big events and know a lot of ppl we can recommend but we will recommend some place that has better service.

Best place to go for craft and import beer. All the big import names are available and they stock a lot of local brews as well. Ever since I found TW, I stopped going to Specks, because they just cant beat this place for selection.

Great selection of any kind of alcohol you could want! The staff is generally pretty friendly and helpful. They rarely have good sales, but they have so much selection, you can find what you want at any price point.

This place is awesome!! Its like a specialty wine store however all types of alcoholic beverages are sold here. The staff was beyond pleasant, more than helpful and they even put on tastings for select bottles

GREAT selection of everything and best overall Scotch prices around. Specs and twin liquors are both pretty equal in beer selection and prices, but TW wins out on overall pricing and liquor.
