Great experience. Its a multi-cultural, mixed diversity environment filled with more than a handful of things to do, from movies and bowling to dining and sightseeing. Few local brewery restaurants with tons of nightclubs to suite your nightlife. Expect normal crowds and of course, locals... Good amount of hotels and hostels in the area and surrounding for those who choose or plan on staying in the heart of the city. More than a ton of top-notch shopping stores to grab a souvenir for memories or a relative or an outfit or two while in town. Lastly transportation is available and/or provided and definitely tight SECURITY. Welcome to the Home of the Wizards, Land of the Capitals, Heart of the Nationals. P.S. ... while in the "Chinatown" area be sure to check out the Verizon Center, where all major D.C. sporting teams play. #JohnWall.

Truth? H and 7th St NW? Very few remnants of old Chinatown. Greatest variety of restaurants in downtown dc on your way to museums and some of Washington DCs oldest churches and synagogues. But...crazily crowded (tourists, panhandlers, sports fans, street musicians, loud soapbox proselytizers, teen hangout; and then movie/theatre/convention goers); autos, tour buses, plus folks traveling via Metro: Red, Yellow, Green; Bus: P6, X2, 80, 74/70s, 42, G8, Circulator (Georgetown/Union Stn), D6. To enjoy this mashup, please travel light, alert, and with a sense of humor.

This is the quiessential tourist trap of Washington D.C I going to come out and say it. I am not saying its a bad thing. The so called Chinatown is a shell of its former self since Verizon Center Arena moved in. The mom and pops are mostly gone. Corporate America has given the illusion of making Chinatown bigger than it is by putting Chinese characters on the sign. The real Chinatown is actually two blocks tops. So come here for the tourist experience of D.C. but do go somewhere else. Do it at least once.

Puedes encontrar muchas tiendas y restaurantes buenos en esta área, es divertido caminar y conocer y cerca también está el museo de cera y otros mas. El problema esque hay demasiada gente vagabunda.

Mini Time Square. Full of pedestrian traffic, vehicular traffic, bright lights, Verizon stadium, MatchBox, Dunkin Donuts, Legal Seafood, movie theater, spy museum, McCormacks, and much much more. It also is a couple of blocks away from mega stores such as Macys, H&M, Guess, Forever 21, and others. Need money? There are numerous banks in the area: Bank of America, SunTrust, and TD Bank.

A very diverse area with lots of fun things to do. There are a ton of bars and restaurants as well as the Verizon Center that holds a wide variety of events almost daily. I particularly like the street performers, more specifically the musicians that make my day after a long day at work. Check them out during the day and evening usually outside two of the metro entrances.

I love this area. It is fun to wander around. There are usually street performers (just listen and follow). The best noodle shop in town is down the street & called Chinatown Express (746 6th St NW). There is usually a fairly high police presence in the area, I would avoid the McDonalds.

Chinatown is nice. Theres a restaurant and bar for everyone. Great happy hour places and lots of options. The new parking rates are out of control on 7th Street ($4/hr) but parking on any side street is only about $1/hr. Be mindful of your possessions as you should in any city center.

Its a really nice atmosphere down there set aside for the young thug children of all races who tend to harass you and try to rob you and start trouble other than that its a very awesome attraction with awesome restaurants but needs to be managed by Police heavily

It is very strategic place in downtown Washington DC. I watched movie The Circle at Regal cinema. The cinema itself is good but for some reason the movie that I watched was poor quality. Not sure because of the equipment or the way they produce the movie.

We love Gallery place chinatown from the movie theater, panera bread, matchbox, fuddruckers to the clothing stores towards metro center. If you travel in the other direction towards union station, you can stop into the H st. walmart too

Its just a part of downtown in DC. The Chinese Restaurants are better than what DC deserves yet not as good as those in the United States. Not as big as most cities have plus people with nothing to do.

This is a tiny, run down, mostly phony Chinatown. Its barely even Chinese. The only reason its not 1-star is because the movie theater is actually nice, but I still prefer the E Street theater nearby.

Nice little place to eat. It is clean and tidy. Japanese foods with bar. Eat with friends or alone, a good place to go. The door is small, it is on the 2nd floor. People may be easy to miss it

Awesome sites! Really loved the Chinese writing next to English signs. Found a wonderful little restaurant with fast service and delicious food. I loved how close the metro station was.

Fun part of town for visiting groups with lots of local and chain venues. Technically it is called Chinatown, though you would be hard pressed to find any authentic Chinese in the area.

As you get further from the Verizon Center, Gallery Place reveals more and more interesting shops and restaurants. At its center, though - its not more than a busy transportation hub.

A must place to visit while youre in DC. Fun place to take the kids. There is a Ferris wheel, playground area, paddle boats and more! Plenty of restaurants to choose from.

Over-priced restaurants, bars and movie theater, but a convenient location with one of the only theaters in the city with plenty of other food options in the neighborhood.

A lot of great restaurant and bar spots to choose from ranging from dive bars to fancy feasts. Get down early before a Caps/Wizards game, or a concert and check it out.

Gallery Place has several restaurants, stores, and a rather nice movie theater. It is located in China Town, so there are some nice photo opportunities in the area.
