I will attempt to be fair with this review of Hawkins and Sons but as you can see, my opinion of this local businessman is less than ideal. I will break down my experience into numerous facets: What we were looking for: I was in shopping to replace the entire kitchen appliances. I was having my kitchen remodeled and the appliances had to be upgrade. Having done this project a couple times before, we were looking for a single source, and local business to keep the dollars local. We did twice purchases before on the internet and returns on large items are a bit problematic. We were looking for all stainless steel, refrig, dishwasher, microwave, garbage disposal and stove. We choose mostly KitchenAid for the brand, per Hawkins recommendations. Pre-Sales - Fair Sales folks at the store we nice and not overly pushy. They have been around these products for a while. Sale/Value - Poor We shopped the internet and their prices were not competitive, around 15-20% more than what could have been saved by sourcing to numerous online retailers. When pressed, they did cut a small discount since we were buying a large number of item together. A gesture, but nothing to compare with the other suppliers. We figured that local service would be make up for the difference. Delivery and Installation - Poor They did deliver on the date the stated, but service support was poor. We did not notice until later that the french style door was not perfectly aligned. So the door is a little hard to close since its slightly off. I would have figured that the delivery guys would notice that the doors were off and resolve issue. The stove was placed in the room. Summary and Final thoughts: Overall, we hoped to source locally for the appliances since we would have like to develop a relationship with a local merchant. I was unimpressed and spend more than I should have for a relationship that I am not sure I would want. Hence low rating.

Our first contact with Hawkins & Sons was a phone call we made. Dan was very informative & friendly so we decided to go to the store. Again, we were treated in a friendly, professional manner and all our questions were answered. We had already shopped around so we knew we were quoted a good price. We purchased a new oven & range top & were assured that removal of the old & installation of the new would be done very carefully. Alec & Nate showed up on time & were extremely careful & courteous. Great experience all the way around!! We will return to Hawkins & Sons for all our appliance needs.

Spent a couple weeks running around to scratch and used appliance stores looking for a decent used dryer. I was floored how all the shops sell garbage that looked like a truck ran it over and selling for prices that were only minor savings over new. Then I stopped at hawkins. Staff is very knowledgeable, they dont act as salesman just answer your questions and are happy to help! All the appliances there looked almost new and prices cannot be beat. I got a couple year old electric duet dryer with Pedistal for $275 cant beat that! Would recommend to anybody

The worst service ever!! Very poor customer service. I scheduled a service appointment to repair my wash machine. On the scheduled day no one showed up to service. I called the company and they somehow "lost" the work order, needless to say I lost wages to take off from my job! So I rescheduled and the tech came out and started to repair the washer but didnt finish. I really dont think he was qualified for the repair. I called to complain and the company reacted as though they didnt care, didnt apologize or anything.

I called in with trouble with my dryer the lady was very nice asked the model no# and quickly told they could fix it. She schedule me for the next day. Within two hours I get a call there schedule opened up and wanted to know if it worked for me today? I said of coarse, the tech (John) showed up jump over the piles of laundry that never seem to go away diagnosed the problem fixed it quickly. Reasonable cost. Nice having people that service to another level!

Had Hawkins and Sons come out to check a dryer out. Mike was very friendly and knew what he was doing. They charged a flat fee to come out and the total was less than $150 for everything and the dryer works like new again. Lets keep family run businesses around, they are there when you need them, unlike the big chain stores. A++++++ for this business and there employees.

I dont go anywhere else. I find the pricing here to be competitive and fair, the selection excellent and the knowledge of their sales staff can save you from making miserable mistakes, particularly if you are installing a new kitchen. Service AFTER THE SALE is probably the GREATEST highlight of this small family company,in addition to everything else they offer.

I have bought several (5) appliances from this company and have had excellent service in both the showroom & by at-home repair people. Oh, and dont forget delivery folks. Such a pleasure to deal with a local company which practices great service. Would rather give them business than some huge chain.

We purchased a new Kitchen Aid dishwasher from Hawkins. Everyone that we worked with was great - from the showroom sales people to the installers. I am very happy with the installation - they were prompt, courteous and professional. I love my new dishwasher, too.
