I Love My New Used Car & I Love The People I Bought From! After endless searching, I found the car I really wanted at a place called Modern Mazda. When I called, a man named John Salmon answered the phone. We talked for a bit about the car, and I explained I was trying to set up a few test drives in the area. The tone of our conversation was warm and relaxed, and he was very accommodating as I put together a schedule for the day. He offered that I call him by his nickname, Fish, which made me smile. When I got off the phone, I didnt feel so frazzled by all the choices, challenges and chaos of car shopping, which was very nice. I had arranged several test drives on the same day because of how far away I live pretty far from this cluster of dealerships, so I arranged several test drives on the same day. And of course, each test drive took a little longer than expected. Fish understood when I pushed back our apt, and greeted me warmly when I arrived. We talked about the car and what I was looking for. He asked me very thoughtful questions about my routine and and requirements, which really helped me understand my own decisions. He told me about the cars history and service record. And then it was time to go for a drive :) :) :) The test drive was great! The car was waiting just outside the office, looked spotless & had that lovely New Car smell. He gave an overview of the need to know stuff, I adjusted my seat and got a feel for the clutch. Fish allowed me to explore & adjust untill I was ready. I pushed the ignition button and then we were off. Modern Mazda is located up Rt. 8, in the heart of Connecticut. The 2 lane highway curves through the forrest and rolling terrain. Its woodsy, way up in the sticks, and its a really fun area to drive around. This type of terrain will put any car through its paces. Tight curvy backroads and long, smooth highways where you can really open the throttle. I hear that State Troopers in the area might let you go 79[mph], but not any faster. Good reminder. (***This statement is an assumed opinion with no real validity ) We drove around for about 25min. Liking this car more and more every minute. By the time were done I was in love with the car. But I still wasnt sure if it was within my realm. So we talked. He worked with me to make owning a practical reality. At first I wasnt sure I could swing it, but I came away a proud new owner. I have a great deal of gratitude for my experience with Fish at Modern Mazda. After the paperwork and registration was complete, I was given a tour of their services and maintenance facilities. I’ll be frank here, the tour was a bit exhaustive. You can tell by looking at the facility that they offer full service, but the manager showing us around was intent on explaining every service offered. He also introduced me to about 3 people,like a welcome to the fam ceremony. I kinda just wanted to drive my new car. That said, I wish they werent so far away, because I was really impressed with their facility and presentation. All in all, I am really happy with my car, and most definitely with my experience at Modern Mazda. Absolutely recommended. Thanks guys!!!

I contacted Modern Motors on Friday March 29th with interest in the 2013 Mazda 3 and drove it home on Monday April 1st. (no April Fools joke here folks!) I had been comparing some various models by the competition. Ill admit I was not quite sure what to expect as it had been the early 90s since I really had done much looking at Mazdas. Wow what a change since those days! It started with the impressive reviews and comparisons I was able to find online with regards to the Mazda 3 but was equally as pleasently surprised by the experience i had with Modern Motors. We ended up working with quite a few different individuals throughout the process and all were professional but also very relaxed and easy going. Most of our dealing was done with Vinny & Edwin however we also had a chance to discuss some aspects with Sales Manger Mike and Owner Jim. Kudos to all of them on their handling everything casually, personally, and with the right amount of professionalism to make the whole experience comfortable. I wont get into a detailed review of the car as this really is about the dealer, but you can find plenty of info on reviews and comparisons for the Mazda 3 and after reading them, I just say, be sure to drive it. It performs and handles better than any of the other vehicles we tested out in the same class.....by far. They worked up a very strong deal right out of the gate so that their pricing was easily competative with the other 3 major competitors we were looking into. They were slightly higher than those cars, but only slightly. The cars performance alone would have justified the slight difference in price but even better than that was the car was better equipped than some of the competition and Modern Motors brings all kinds of added value to the table. Their Life-Time Powertrain Program is impressive..and yes, I said Life Time. Check it out for sure, basically just have to use them, at a very reasonable price, to do some basic standard maintanence (oil change, tire rotation, flush) at regular intervals. As long as you do them all, they cover your car for life. Go see them, their website, or give them a call for more details if you like. Additionally we recieved a coupon book with all kinds of valuable coupons, some one time deals and others with no expiration. (Free Car Washes whenever you want? seriously?) Other questions about the car and such after you drive away? Got you covered, they offer regularly scheduled workshops on Saturdays where owners can go in and ask questions, get advice, or just to chat with the experts on various topics. Even got a call from Vinny 3 days after I picked up the car to see if I had any questions about the car or needed anything from him at this point. Great job guys, keep it up! So far I am very happy with the experience and the car. As a prevous (many times over) Toyota owner, I have high hopes and expectations with so Im looking forward to having my little Mazda3 prove to me its got the longevity I like to see from my cars! My girlfriend and I just purchased a 2013 Dodge Avenger from Modern Motors in Thomaston. We initially went there to simply take a test drive of an Avenger to confirm whether or not we would both like the vehicle, but at the time we were still intending on finding a used one. Vinny Valenti was the salesperson there at our service right away upon our arrival. He provided us a very comfortable, non-pressured experience at the dealership. There was no hesitation and no hassle regarding us test driving the vehicle, which I appreciated. Ultimately between our conversations with him about the perks of owning a new vehicle (e.g. knowing it has not been beat on by anybody, had not been exposed to the harsher elements in miscellaneous states throughout the country, of course the full 100,000 miles worth of warranty, the rebates and, oh yes, that new car smell), and the overall positive, friendly and personable experience, we were convinced that paying a little extra for these benefits was the way to go! Speaking to our time working with Vinny, we came away with an overall great experience. He is a very personable and down-to-Earth person in comparison to many other salespeople which I respected. He understood that we did not come into the situation with the mindset that wed be buying a new car and (maybe more importantly) that doing so was over our intended budget. He was professional in regards to negotiating a compromised price that was suitable both to my girlfriend, I, and his boss :) One testament to his devotion to his customers (our) satisfaction was when, after we signed all the paperwork but before leaving the dealership, my girlfriend noticed a couple little spots in the cars white paintjob that werent coming off. I understand that nothing is perfect in life, but my girlfriend was kind of irritated by this. Immediately after she brought this to his attention, he took the car to have it touched up, and assured us that we could come back and do the same thing should we notice any additional spots.
