Ive had a change of heart towards this store. originally i didnt like this one for the main reason most others dont like it. Its always overcrowded and is mostly a ghetto crowd. several others complained about customer service but i wonder if this store has received new management or something because i just received incredible customer service here which has earned my respect for this store (still dont like the crowd issues here..) i had bought 4 Goodyear Wrangler Authority tires at this store 13 months ago and one of the tires became defective. I had tried to get the defective tire fixed at 2 other Walmarts but just got the runaround at those Walmarts. Called up the manager (Annette) at the Platte Walmart and explained the issue to her and she didnt hesitate to have me come in and get it fixed. Unfortunately it was 6:30pm by the time i called her and they closed in 30 minutes. i got there at 6:55 and the techs were very helpful. i forget the name of the primary tech who helped me but it was a younger female and she was very friendly and courteous, especially with trying to sort out my issue and having to deal with everyone else trying to stop her for help. by the time we got my issue sorted out, i ended up having to replace all 4 tires and not just the defective one because i had a 4x4 and the tread difference was to great. even though the 3 other tires were in excellent condition.. the Manager personally came over to ensure that i was taken care of and covered everything because it was a defect. The techs who replaced the tires stayed after hours to get them replaced instead having me come back the next day. while waiting for my car to be finished, i went over to the deli to get some chicken but they were already closed and cleaning up. They still had some left over and let me order some chicken anyway. everytime ive done this with other Walmarts, i was turned down. when i was checking out, the cashier at the front of the store was very friendly and conversational i didnt hear one complaint from any of the staff and i received excellent customer service which trumps the atmosphere any day in my book and this Walmart will continue to receive my business. Especially the Auto center for when i need new tires again. On a side note, i highly recommend the Goodyear Wrangler Authorities. even though one was defective, theyve been excellent tires for the 13 months that i have had them so far.

After being at a nearby Dennys (next to The Citadel mall), I went to this particular Wal-Mart to get a few items. Yes, before I ever got INTO the store, I saw 3-4 security vehicles out in the parking lot -- I usually only see ONE security car cruising Wal-Marts, not 3-4! I guess that was kind of a heads-up re: the area in which this store is located -- and their "clientele?" Once inside, any doubt was removed: Plenty of low-life trash mixed in with more "normal" customers, plus unattended (care-less "parents") rug-rat kids getting into the merchandise. Not a store Id want to come back to, too depressing. But you know, no one really needs to be afraid of any of the said trash there, or walking to/from your car in the trashed-out parking lot (especially at night in this ghetto part of town). After all, Colorado is an Open Carry state, meaning you can carry a handgun openly -- no permit required. And as per usual, I was -- as I do regularly no matter what part of COS I am in (although I almost always am in the NE part of the Springs -- nice). Not sure most people noticed me carrying (most people usually dont) in the parking lot or inside the store but if anyone did, no one said anything. Still, its a nice feeling to know that one has the means (a "tool") for looking out after ones own personal safety without HOPING other people to do it for them. Besides, armed citizens need not fear street-trash/criminals, its the other way around -- as it should be, yes? Would I go back to this store? Probably not: I prefer a nicer part of town...too many sorry eyesores at this store. As some have already mentioned here, the Wal-Mart in the newer parts of COS (Woodmen and Powers for example) is a much better experience (and only ONE security vehicle there) and I didnt notice ANY street-trash the few times I went. Regardless, one should always be aware of ones surroundings and have a plan for their own personal safety no matter WHERE they are. Theres no excuse not to...especially when its your RIGHT to do so.

Wal-Mart is not bad just this one is horrible. Go to get oil change 715 they close at 8 but they said there closing and cant do oil change and I was only car there.whatever so let me get a few things and after waiting 20 min in line for the second night in a row. I get over charged on a product and cashier says she cant fix it ill have to go to customer service and waste another 20min.NOT. then as Im walking out they ask for my reciept. I ask why? He says you have a jug of milk.ok whatever but the guy who was in front of me who was a homeless looking man walks out with a monster energy drink in each hand no back nothing and was not asked to show a reciept? I thought searching peoples belongings was the job of police not Wal-Mart workers. I felt very discriminated against. This is one of many complaints I have with this Wal-Mart. Obviously the evening managers are not doing there jobs. Which they get paid very good to not do anything I guess. And Im 45 yrs old and they wouldnt sell me a can of compressed air cause I did not have I.d. so I went and bought a can of chew five seconds later without I.d from same Wal-Mart. This Wal-Mart is a joke

WORST customer service EVER!!!! and that was while speaking to a manager! This woman was sarcastic and talked down to me as I was explaining what I was looking for. Worse yet, she was actually so ignorant she kept repeating back to me erroneous information that I did not even include in my description of the product I wanted. When I expressed my frustration at her sarcasm and impatience she told me there just wasnt any way whatsoever to look for the product I hoped to find and then she was gone. Not only will I never shop at this location again but Im thinking Im pretty done dealing with the poorly trained, apathetic employees of Walmart as a whole. The stress and insult is just not worth the saving of a few bucks. There are plenty of other places to get the things I need. While they may not be perfect, I usually walk away from them with my purchases feeling I was communicating with the employees on a level of mutual respect. Im running back to Target, Ace Hardware, Dillards.......anywhere where I can feel simply appreciated for spending my hard earned money there.

Seriously awful customer service. I went in for one very specific item-one of their deli pizzas-and found that were waxing the floor in the deli area. I waited patiently, shopped around, came back 20 minutes later to a larger area roped off. I asked one of the guys stocking if I could grab a pizza quick before they continued. "No." So I said "but its right there, I dont have to step on the wax, I can reach over and grab the one I want" "no I cant let you do that" "well can you grab me one? "No" during this entire conversation I easily could have, without disrupting anything they were doing, gotten the ONE THING I came in for if they would have left me. I dropped the rest of my groceries (stuff I really didnt need but only got while I was patiently waiting) and told them to put that stuff back too then. One of the guys shouted at me as I walked away-I will not repeat it. Ill never go back to this Walmart-Ive worked in customer service for 10 years and if I ever spoke to a customer that way, Id immediately be fired. What a joke.
