Yesterday, I saw an ad online for a patio table $80 in stock at McKinleyville. I live roughly two hours away in Orleans but I checked ahead to make sure everything would go smoothly. I get there and the cashier tells me in order to get the table I have to buy the entire patio set. There are a lot of pieces to the "set" that I have absolutely no interest in. Especially not when it kicks the price tag up to $500 plus tax. So finally I am told that I can buy just the table but its "out of stock" there is one in a box less than 5 feet away. Finally get to the check out stand and the table gets rung up at $150 I show the ad and ask about the price disparity. At this point there is a male employee named Chris who snottily tells me that in order to get the online price I would need to go through a manager and come back in a week. So I pay and request assistance to get it to my car. After its loaded I say thank you to which the response is a disgusted eye roll. Really? That entire situation should have been go in store, select product at advertised price, pay, leave, done. The initial female cashier was sweet she just needs more training, the male named Chris went out of his way to be condescending and rude. I get that retail isnt everyones dream job but when a business depends on customers... it shouldnt be rocket science to at least pretend to have manners and basic decency.

They had camping gear that require propane canisters, but had no propane canisters and I didnt see a space for them on the shelf. They used to sell them. Prices are also way to expensive. For example, granola bars were almost $4 at Kmart and the same ones were over a dollar less at Target. K Mart sucks and so does Sears because the people in corporate dont care about the consumer and it shows.

Start New

Gets the job done if you forgot something at home and your camping near by. Close to Patricks Point State Park and campground. If your camping at PPSP the area around this K-mart is the closest place with a real grocery store to the park. The area has a Safeway, Starbucks, gas station, fast food, laundromat, Redbox and more.

As an assistant manager of the biggest box office retail store.. I have never walked in to such a clean and well organized KMart. My retail experience is super centers of Target and Wal-Mart... with high expectations... I must say.. well done to the employees who are a big part of making that happen!!

Hate the new remodel. Yes, you added more items. But leaving enough room for customers to even get down the aisle would have been great. Heaven forbid that someone in a wheelchair try to get in there. All these improvements and you still cant find anyone that works there to help you with anything.

The new remodel makes the store look so much better than it did before. Parts of the store are still outdated, though. For the most part, staff are friendly and the prices usually come up correctly.

Nicest Kmart in Humboldt. Clean store, sometimes difficult to move through all the clothing racks, which are placed in the middle of the store making it difficult to find anything you came to buy.

Worst shopping experience ever. The employees are rejects from the "Dollar Store." I only rated it a one because i couldnt post this review without giving it a star. Terrible.

Always got what you need, fast friendly service however its hard to find help around the store. Definitely could use some improvement but is a good spot. Love this place.

No frills shopping. Being in a predominant camping community, their selection of gear is meek... Unless you need a tent, cooler or air mattress

This Kmart used to be nicer, but the years have seen a lot of questionable layout changes. Still the store is always clean and well stocked.
