We were looking for an Acura to buy. Called around to 7 dealerships and used two free Internet car buying services looking for the best deal. Originally, I hadnt looked at Los Gatos Acura because I thought it was too far for any deal (glad I didnt hold to that mistaken belief). I had found the MDX I wanted at a handful of dealerships only to have deals fall through due to the up and down of the market, or brand new cars with what I would consider high mileage. I called Los Gatos Acura at closing on a Sunday and spoke to Tony A. I told him what I was looking for and asked if he would check the mileage on the one I wanted before I asked them to sell it to me. He took my number and called me back in about 5-10 minutes. He confirmed the mileage even though it was closing time (he could have asked me to call back the next day, which he didnt). He gave me the number of miles. (insert drool). I emailed an offer to the dealership after hours and awaited a response the next day. Although Tonys shift didnt start until noon the next day, he went in early and started working on the deal for me, then contacted me to let me know it was acceptable. I told him Id be right down. Hope he knew that for me "be right down" means 4+ hours of delay (Sorry Tony, Im slow getting my documents together, but I tried to be faster). I showed up later than promised - my fault - and Tony still greeted me at the door with a casual, friendly, and warm smile and the hand shake of an honest man. I brought a trade-in on the deal (I had all the records for major maintenance and one repair job). I believe they offered me fair value for the car and maybe a bit more. The MDX was the car they promised me it would be. Next came the negotiation. Oh wait, there wasnt one. The deal we discussed was upheld - no bait and switch tactics, no arguing or fighting, and I never once worried about walking away from the table. It was the BEST experience I have ever had when buying a car. I dont wish to go into details, but I felt they bent over backwards to earn my business and to make the sale, but without pressure at all. Financing was a breeze! Closing the deal was just as smooth. I worked with Hung on that part. He explained to me in detail all my additional options even though by the time I got to this part of the deal, it was closing time. They didnt gripe once at me at how late it was. They were patient with me despite the late hour (and I even think there was another customer after me they were going to have to close paper work on). I think I got a good deal on the MDX, and Im sorry, but I thought they would make it up in the back room when it came time to hit me with fees, options, and add-ons, BUT I was ready - armed with research, printed out from other dealerships and the Internet - Oh No Sir! You will not get one by me! I was prepared for battle... Only... There wasnt one. The items were more than fairly priced and VERY competitive with other Acura dealerships. I thought, maybe they did the Jedi Mind Trick on me. I am still looking at the paperwork trying to find where they snuck in some absorbent or unnecessary fees (cmon, something, anything, sat in their chair fee, walked on their floor fee, fee for using their pens). I cant find it - it doesnt exist, they didnt do it to me. You get so used to being treated badly at car dealerships, that you are mistrusting and paranoid. You will find that thinking at this dealership will turn out to be a waste of your time and not at all necessary. Dishonesty and price gouging were NOT the case and couldnt have been further from the truth. The good deals continued on into the back room and through to the end of the deal. Tony, Hung, and the other gentleman who ran my credit - Thank you for a great experience. I only hope we can return the favor by sending anyone we find who wants an Acura your way, I know in 9 or 10+ years (that how long we keep our cars) when we want a replacement, well come see you again. Thank you!

Took car in for insurance body work. Also asked for some non-insurance-related body work. All estimates were taken at once. Insurance pays for rental car. One week later I get a call saying car is finished. I go to pick up the car and only the insurance-related work is finished. "Ooops, forgot, lost track of the paperwork! Give us another week," said Merr*tt Billingt*n. (I have masked his name so you cant figure out who it is that I worked with there.) Although it wasnt explicit, there was an implication that it was somewhat my fault for asking to have insurance- and non-insurance-related estimates performed at once, which requires separate paperwork. How dare I! Since the insurance work was done, I then started paying for the rental car out of my own pocket. Another week goes by. I get a call saying car is finished. I go to pick up the car and only half of the non-insurance-related work is finished. "Awww man, darn it, I submitted it to the body shop, those guys mustve forgot. [Nice one, throw your co-workers under the bus.] Give us another few days." Another three days of me paying for the rental car. (At this point, Enterprise felt for me and even extended the insurance discount even though it was non-insurance-related work by this point. I suppose I should charge the body shop the standard rate, not the discount that Enterprise is giving ME, but I digress...) Finally, a little over two weeks after it shouldve been done, its actually done. Long story short, they havent paid for the rental car that I had to keep paying for due to their errors. In fact, after bringing this to their attention I barely got out of there with them agreeing to pay HALF of the car rental (keep in mind that I would have had to pay ZERO if the repairs were done when they were supposed to be done, as I was told that all the repairs wouldve been done in parallel). At first they were gonna work it out with Enterprise and a credit wouldve been reflected on my Enterprise bill; but then that option was altered so that the "guys in Florida" would have to cut a check directly to me (Florida is where their HQ is located, strangely). Emails have gone unanswered, voicemails not returned, nothing. The one thing that separates these body shop businesses from one another is the customer experience, and this place failed badly.

I went to this dealership to lease an Acura. This was my biggest mistake. By 4 pm on a Saturday we finalized on the car. Then they kept us waiting until 7 pm on the finance. I finally decided to come in next day at 10 am. When I arrived the following day, I requested that I wanted to test drive the car. After this request, the finance person, the sales person and the manager started behaving as if we were wasting their time! As I was about to sign the paperwork, they disclosed some fees, which was not disclosed to me earlier, even though, I had EXPLICITLY asked for ANY fee that might be due at lease ending, the previous day. I objected to this, and the sales person completely denied of any such discussion. These people could not even complete the paperwork for a lease, and just wanted to sell me the car, and then bring me in on a Monday (as I was told by the finance). This was only the beginning. It was about 12 pm, and as I was discussing with the sales person, the finance skipped us and started with another customer. Just because we raised a concern, they wanted to keep us waiting for another hour, and this was the second day. I asked if I could speak to the manager (Mark Maxwell), he was extremely rude, and literally showed us the door, when we expressed that we cant wait, as we have already waited for 2 hours today, and 3 hours the previous day. He was evidently being racist, and I was taken by shock as this was the first racist encounter I have ever had in United States. Since, they never had anyone question their ridiculous fees, and their practices, they retaliated with this idiotic behavior. However, I want to thank this location, as I went to another dealership, where I did NOT have to pay any fees, and was treated like a customer with basic respect. In the end, At another Acura dealership, I got out with a brand new Acura in less than 2 hours with $0 down and no ridiculous and fraudulent fees.
