My bike repair experience at Sheels was not good. They had my bike in the shop twice and still couldnt get the brakes to work correctly. They said they had tested the bike by riding in the parking lot, but that couldnt have been the case because when I rode the first time after new pads were installed, I nearly went over the handle bars with just a little brake pressure. When I took the bike back, they installed another set of new pads and told me I would have to "break them in". I tried doing that, but after crashing once, I took the bike to Spring Street Sports in Chippewa Falls and they said the brakes needed to be "toed in". They did the adjustments and test rode it. The bike works like new now and I will not go to Scheels again. At least two, maybe three, of their mechanics worked on the bike and they didnt know how to adjust the pads.

We went in looking at canoes after finding nothing on their website. They only had one in stock, but brought us over a brochure to look at other ones. We asked why there was no information available online, and were told that the company was really focused on having the personal experience with associates in the store. If this is true, why were we just brought a guy with a booklet that we werent even allowed to take home to look over. He wasnt even sure why we would want a center thwart for a canoe! Yikes Scheels, you cant tell me you dont have much online because you want to emphasize your in-store experience, and then provide such uniformed and inadequate service!

I would never really think of Scheels as a clothing store, but they have a great selection of clothing. Its not just sporty stuff, they have cute dresses, tops, and jeans. If you are shopping for womens clothes, Denise is the best! She is THE most helpful and genuine person Ive ever encountered in a retail setting. By far, the associates at this Scheels are the friendliest of any Scheels Ive been to.

I loved scheels at one time. Now its just a mall entry. To many people looking at stuff and not buying. I dont want the product I get to be touched by 100s of people. Some of the staff is product knowledgeable but the rest must just be there to hurd the mall traffic. Its sad now, I just go there to try on a product size then order online. Also always out of stock on everything

Firearm department service is extremely poor! I will never buy another firearm from them! When I told them a local competitor had the same firearm for cheaper, the manager started being a smart @$$ giving me attitude. If you dont want my money, its fine with me. Ill be more than happy to spend it else where. This is just one of my many dissatisfied experiences there.

Went in to buy a gun. Three hours later waiting approval for purchase. Several other people came in, completed paper work and walked out with their purchases. Sales person failed to return my DL to me and now I must wait for them to mail it back. I live 55 miles from the store. Will go to Gander Mtn or Cabellas for future purchases.

So impressed. Battery operated fishing knife wouldnt take charge. Very little use. Without asking, they offered straight up exchange. Family and friends were not surprised. "always treated fair at scheels. They stand behind products." Good Job!

My favorite sporting goods store. And a relatively easy drive from La Crosse. I think their customer service is good and the staff seem pretty knowledgeable. They carry standard/traditional and higher end firearms, as well. Check out Daniel Defense!

A while back, my wife and I went here to shop for a cooler and the customer service took us to the most expensive cooler first, which is separate from all the others. Overall the store has a great selection of outdoor equipment and sporting goods.

Terrific service! Bought a bike for my daughter for her birthday. She took a spill on it the same day. Joe in the service department looked at it immediately​ when I brought it in and fixed it in just a few minutes. No charge. Highly recommend!
