We are your typical busy family. Buying a new car is supposed to be a little fun but we really only have a small bit of time to test drive, talk financing and make the deal happen. When we sent an email to Poquet middle of the night in response to a listing on their website, we never guessed we would get a call back. Expected an email response. Furthermore, we never expected a response in less than 24 hours. It was approx. 11 hours between sending our email and having John Doberstein call us from Poquet. We told him we were actually on our way into Poquet to talk to them about the car we were interested in. That Saturday morning, he met us at the door. I think we spent 10 minutes talking and he had us (all four in our family) in a car and on a test drive. We came back to the office and in less than an hour (probably more like 30 minutes) we had financing paperwork in order and all we had to do was await the arrival of our car (in transport from MI). On Monday, Poquets financing person contacted me to confirm financing details. Wednesday, John updated us on the status of the car shipment. A week later another update with an estimate of how delivery that following Friday would go. Within two weeks our car arrived (keep in mind we bought it sight unseen ~ thus the timeframe). The car was in beautiful condition when it arrived. Similar to our first day at Poquet, we were in and out. Reception met us and handed us the keys for a test drive, financing then got the paperwork in front of us and then John walked us through some basics for the Mercedes C300. I think all in all we spent approx. 2.5-3 hours total between our two visits to Poquet to buy our car. There isnt another dealer out there that would make you feel special about your purchase the way Poquet did. They also have an awesome system in place so the customer feels everyone is working together to make the customer happy! We will buy our next car there and the next one too! Really made us feel special when John called a week after delivery to make sure we were still happy with our purchase and enjoying the new car!

The buying experience was excellent I do admit. But the post purchase experience left much to be desired in my opinion. I went in for maintenance. It was very affordable yes and the service was good enough. But the thing is they did not tell me what they did, there was no inspection check list, what type of oil they used, what they did and what they did not do.. The sort of thing you would get from any big name oil change place, much less a dealership. They did not seem aware of the manufacturer maintenance schedule or have any interest in following it. I would expect more from a dealership of their supposed caliber. And then when I was in a tight spot because a brake caliper seized (only a few weeks after purchase if that matters) and rolled into Poquet for help they were too busy to do anything. The promise of a loaner car -- made by the sales rep at purchase seemed to have vanished. They recommend I go to the Infinity dealership which was close by. I did that. Infinity was also very busy, but they MADE time for me AND provided a loaner car when they did not have the replacement part on hand. Now that is service. But maybe I should not expect so much from a used car dealer. Not to mention they promised to contact me about a second key fab at purchase which never happened. No surprise there. Not the biggest thing of course. It just another example that once the sale is complete you are no longer a priority. Maybe I am being too hard on them. But if they really are the best in the twin cities as they claim, then they need to do better. At least I will not go back. But if you do not care about the post-purchase treatment, they do have a good selection, fair prices, and good financing options. Just be aware of what you getting into long term.

Poquet stands out as being the place where I experienced the absolute WORST car buying process in my life. After visiting several dealers, and making careful price comparisons, I chose to visit Poquet, since a family member had purchased a car there before with good luck. Unfortunately, I did not have the same kind of experience. After I became interested in a vehicle, I spoke to a woman to complete the sales process. My inquiry into a reduced offering price was met with her EXTREMELY rude and arrogant response. However indirect, she basically claimed her car-selling brilliance while also treating me like complete TRASH. When I made a reference to another car model and whether or not she would be able to offer a better price, as another dealer had a better price on a comparable one, she told me to buy the car from the other dealer! To top it all off, she lied about the asking price of another car I had asked about earlier; something I later discovered by surfing Poquets website. I ended the discussion with her in absolute disgust. I WILL NEVER BUY A CAR FROM THIS ESTABLISHMENT AND I HAVE TOLD MANY PEOPLE TO AVOID IT AT ALL COSTS. I have been in business for a while, and I understand that not all offers can be met with agreement, but this woman should never have treated me the way she did. The only good thing that came out of the whole experience was the advice this woman gave me, as I will likely buy a vehicle from the other dealer I referenced and not Poquet!

My wife and I purchased a vehicle from John Foley at Poquet Auto. It was the best car buying experience to date. Poquet truly is a no hassle place. We came in one day, met John, told him what we were looking for in our next vehicle. We left. He called a week or two later and said they had a few we might like to see. We came back and purchased the vehicle because it was exactly what we wanted. It was the perfect experience. John never pressured us. He never misled us. He never made us feel like we could not leave the lot. He never had his boss come out and try to close us. He had plenty of people needing his attention and he was able to treat all of us like his favorite customer. He is a difference maker and someone who has earned our trust. We will buy every car from him as long as he plans on staying at Poquet. In comparison, we bought a Jeep 3 years ago at a dealership. We were deciding between a Jeep and a Subaru. Both places tried cornering us and did not want us to leave the lot. Both places called repeatedly. Both acted like they would not budge on price and then started throwing concessions at us. The Jeep finance paperwork took almost an hour. Poquets took 10 mins. Its a no brainer. Buy a car from John Foley at Poquet. He can get you any car you want as long as you are willing to wait a week, or just buy what he has on the lot. Good luck! You wont regret it.
