After our nightmare experience at Lexus of Marin, we landed ourselves at Magnussen Lexus and dealing with Steve Yi and Monty to purchase a certified CT200h and I cant express enough in words how great the experience was. Steve was the consummate professional and did not give us the BS that we experienced at Marin. Steve made the experience short and sweet and as impossible or out of reach it would have seemed, he entertained the 3 offers that we presented without a sign of disdainful attitude. As for our trade-in, they gave us a more than fair market value that we did not expect. What I feel was the best part was that they made the extra effort to accommodate our schedule. It was a last minute decision to see the car and I happened to be in the area to stop by and see the car we found on the internet. Steve would eventually have to wait a couple of hours for my wife to make the trip down from Walnut Creek…it was Friday after 5pm. Knowing this the manager, Monty, had put the car on hold. (Hmm, novel idea…sure wish some other dealers [Lexus of Marin] had this same approach) We worked and agreed on a final number, which took about 45 minutes and the next thing we know we were the owners of a beautiful Lexus. Keep in mind that the dealership closes at 9pm and my wife did not make it to the dealership until after 7:30, so we did not get out of the dealership until 10pm. But that didn’t keep Steve Yi from taking the time to educate us on the electronics that were loaded on this vehicle. He could have gone home after he passed us on to the finance guy. But instead he waited for us to finish the paper work and then sat down with us to make sure we understood the most important features on the car. I can’t tell you where to shop for your vehicle but I would strongly recommend Magnussen. And if you do go to Magnussen, I recommend talking to Steve Yi. I’m 48 and have purchased a lot of vehicles in my lifetime and I would say that this was by far one of the best, if not the best experience I’ve had buying a car. No pressure, no BS, no problem. Thanks Steve Yi and Monty! An easy 5-Start rating.

I would absolutely stay away from this dealership. We had a horrible experience with them. My wife and I have been test driving cars for the past month or so. We decided on the GS50. We were waiting to find the right color. We found one at Magnussen Lexus of Fremont. Being that we live in Sacramento I called the dealership and asked if we could do thing over the phone. I was given to Sonny Alvarez. He indicated that would not be a problem. He sent over the paper work. We promptly filled out and sent back. We were approved for financing. Being it was a Saturday our credit union was closed. So he indicated we can work with them the next buesiness day which was Monday to get a better rate. The next day went by and I did not hear anything back. Few days later I was told we got a lower rate with the credit union. He even sent over the break down of the price. It being a few days later (now Thursday) I told Sonny we would be there this weekend to finish up the paper work and get the car. Today Friday we were told the car has been SOLD. He did indicate that he had other cars for us. This could be considered Bait and Switch. During this whole process Sonnies communication has been horrible. At one point I sent an email to Bo Magnussen explaining my frustrations. I was blown off by him. Told he would hand it over to a manager (keep in mind Sonny indicated he was a manager). It was almost like he did not even want us to buy a car. We had to reach out day after day. We even had to do most of the leg work on getting a better rate. I received a call from Javier Rabago shortly after being told the car I was going to buy had been purchased to tell me they had other great cars. So to break it down We found the car we wanted Called and made an offer Got approved for the financing Scheduled the date and time to pick it up Got told it was sold. So now I have a ding on my credit while I look for a new car. Hope I can do within 30 days.

Overall, I am a very busy person. But in this particular case I have to share an experience I had in purchasing a car. When I arrived at Magnussens Lexus of Fremont I expected to be mauled by an aggressive sales person but that wasnt the case at all. I met a sales person, Neil Chandra, who greeted me as if we had met before and insisted that I call him Neil instead of Mr. Chandra. It immediately put me in a calmer state of mind and I started to feel less stressed about the whole car buying ordeal. Before jumping down my throat about buying a car, he walked me into the dealership into what I would describe as a family friendly lounge area, to offer me a warm cup of coffee of different flavors on hand. Also during this time, he introduced me to a few coworkers and management personnel. I enjoyed the fact that Neil didnt immediately rush me off to a back office/room to interrogate me on what type of car I was interested in purchasing or hide me as if to keep me away from coworkers who could snatch me away from him to make a sale. Instead, we enjoyed a cup of coffee while discussing my criteria for a car in a more relaxed setting. Neil had a very genuine interest in the type of care I was looking for and not pushing me toward some other high priced car that would benefit some type of mandatory quota. After it appeared to me that he had an understanding of what I wanted, we proceeded to walk the lot to preview and test drive cars that fit my criteria. I am happy to say Neil did a great job in narrowing down what I was looking for and sold me a car. All the final paper work we had to accomplish was easy and painless. I know there are tons of car commercials out there from happy customers but I must say this experience in buying a car for me was truly a first for me. I have purchased cars before but never experience a fun easy day out car shopping as I experience with Neil. Great job !

The service at Magnussens Lexus of Fremont is wonderful, from the start they had my dream SUV. Although, it wasnt a Lexus they have treated me as if it was. I purchased a previously owned Toyota Sequoia from Neil Chandra. The whole experience was great and the whole team was there to help. Usually, the paperwork is the worst part of purchasing a car but at Magnussens Lexus it was easy, no one was pushy and answered all of our questions. Neil Chandra was not pushy as many car salespeople can be. Neil never acted like a sales person, instead he was there to help me achieve my dream of getting the car I have always wanted. After the sale Neil was still there for me. Someone hit my car not long after I purchased it and he helped me get the best place to repair it. Neil even picked me up from the repair shop and took me to the rental car agency. I have utilized my warranty for the car, this was a stream lined process with no problems. I called Neil and he handled everything for me. I just went and dropped of the car and jumped into a loaner. When the repair was done, I dropped off the loaner and jumped back into my car. The service guys were always very nice and my car was cleaner than when I dropped it off! The customer service provided to me from Neil Chandra and Magnussens Lexus is like no other. I recommend him anytime I know someone is shopping around for a new or used car.
