To be fair, the few times we had gone to Petco for dog grooming, they did a good job. But what Im writing about here is how rude some of the grooming staff is. I made an appointment (or tried to) but they couldnt locate our dogs information by phone number. I asked if they could search by name and they made it sound like it was nearly impossible. I was then told we had a 2pm appointment but when I went to confirm (same phone call) she said it was 3pm. Maybe I misunderstood the first time I wrote it down? So I arrive 4 days later, with my dog, for her grooming appointment. 1st they cant find the appointment in the computer. Im like I know I have an appointment. She finds a sticky note under the computer and tells me oh ... I couldnt figure out the issue? We finally converge on our account (under my xs account) and she tells me they cant take the dog because her rabies shot expired. When they couldnt find the dogs account to begin with you would think they would let me know this was a requirement and not wait until day of. Ironically, we were at the vet a hour before and could have provided the cert (had I known). I was sooooo mad. So, this is unusual and, like I noted at the start, they do a good job, but have to vent my frustration with incompetent communication skills of the staff. The end.

On 8/20/14 my wife carried our dog in for grooming because our normal groomer had no openings. Somehow while trimming his nails they cut a piece of the pad of his foot off. There was no mention to us of the incident and when we went back in today all we were told is that perhaps it happened in the mulch outside the store. They were kind enough after the grooming to send us home with some balm for his pads but didnt tell us the reason for their "generosity" Accidents happen and we are aware of that and are certain that nothing was done intentional but all things considered we will no longer do business with an establishment that attempts to deny and cover up rather than simply being honest and apologizes.

Dont let the groomers "scalp" your pet as I did. Totally unprofessional grooming of my pet. I now have a big vet bill and an injured pet. NEVER use this service. Although I talked with the groomers and went over my pets sensitive skin issues and described the cut to not be close to the skin I arrive to find my pet had been scalped and lost skin off his nipples and scrotum. I have pictures. I am livid but have no recourse except to inform you to avoid this misery for your pet. Donnie Butler

Took my Goldendoodle to get groomed and picked up a completely shaved dog! I asked them to groom and trim and apparently "they mixed up the tickets"!!!!!! This is unacceptable and they werent one bit concerned or worried that they had done this. I grow her hair for a reason and looks like I get to do it all over again because of them "mixing up tickets" Manager was real helpful too by saying "well you dont have to pay for it today" oh gee thanks!

Been using the grooming at this Madison location for a long time & I have spent BIG $ there on food, supplies & grooming. I bring my Pets shampoo cause what ever bulk shampoo they use causes skin eruptions. This was never a problem before but, today they decided if I didnt agree to buy their store shampoo then no grooming. This strong arm tactic has just cost them a loyal customer! NEVER USE PETCO ANYWHERE!!

We recently starting using Petco for our goldendoodle and couldnt be happier! We were using another very popular chain pet store for her grooming and werent happy with the service we received. Petco staff is very friendly, they have competitive prices and the grooming team does a great job.

I have taken my 3 dogs to Tareika several times, she does an amazing job with all of them. You can tell she really loves them and is very conscientious about doing everything to your satisfaction. Would highly recommend her to everyone!

I agree. I took my dog in for a 10:00 appointment and at 3:00 they still hadnt started grooming her. All that time without going potty or water. I grabbed my dog and left! Never will go to this store again!

We take our Cavalier to be groomed here at least once a month and shop at least once every two weeks; this location has the best employees that really give your pet personal service and attention!

Ive just moved here and needed a groomer for my 2 furbabies, especially their nails, im soooo happy with them, and looking for a new carrier , a perfect one for under 30.00.

65% of the crickets I bought from there were dead. & they were $3 more at Animal Trax in a box of 10 less. Go to Animal Trax. Only gave the extra star bc it was open later.

The staff is very willing to help out. If your pet doesnt like the food you brought they will take it back.
