I had planned on buying a bike off Craigslist although I was apprehensive that it may not have been the right size -- indeed it was not and Sean (sales manager) helped facilitate the process sizing with the spin doctor. Seans unbiased approach is what sold me -- while he said I could probably make it work by walking me through what I would need to do and why was extremely helpful. In fact, afterwards I spoke with Sean about my current setup (hybrid) and uses (~400 miles per month between commuting/recreational) and interests (more road and possibly cyclocross) and he told me of brands/bikes to look into. In the process, I came across a bike that caught my eye and then after consulting with a friend, I came back later in the day and decided it was the one. While Sean switched out the stem, Sam and Corey came by to chat and asked if I needed anything and told me about the Performance Membership (I ended up getting like $250~ worth of accessories for $40). Subsequently, they told me I should come to one of their weekend rides and I look forward to it in the next couple days. The Oxnard Performance team (Sean, Corey, Sam, Melanie, etc) truly do a great job of welcoming new customers and I will definitely be coming back to Performance for my cycling needs in the future.

The customer service is terrible. I brought a bike to be built by the shop, brand new in the box. I was told to make an appt. on the phone. I brought it in at the time and was told it would take an hour, no then it wold be done by closing. When I showed up at closing, bike was still in the box and was told that they thought I was going to get it the next day. When I Called the next day, bike still wasnt ready. When I showed up to get it, it had not been test ridden and the saddle was a miss. Also, they installed some crappy pedals that I need to now take off. The check out just got worse, it took 20 minutes to get rung up! Just terrible all around service. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.

Went online and did research on the bikes we were interested in. Called the shop and spoke with Sam. He had the bikes, size and colors we wanted. We went to shop and met Corey (manager). He brought bikes down, had them double checked, and we took them outside to test ride. Corey looked at our riding and made some minor adjustments. He explained all features/benefits of bikes, plus explained the warranty plus service they offer. It was the the most easiest, professional, and enjoyable experience we have had in a long time. The crew, including Joe, who serviced our bikes was top notch. I couldnt explain enough how well we were treated. It felt like we were the only ones in the store.

This is the best store for a cyclist. I do my own maintenance and utilize Performance for parts, tools, and the like. They have a deep online catelogue, and will price match, and if you are smart you can get a 10% tuesday at lunch, which makes the prices hard to beat. They know their stuff and gurantee satisfaction, they will take back just about anything you purchased if you dont like it. Dont be fooled by the local bike shop/better service myth, it is just that a myth.

The absolute worst bike shop I have ever been to. The there is zero communication between the maintenance department and the other employees. Dropped some wheels off so they could be trued then I get a call from one of the maintenance individuals telling me it would take a month for them to do this.... Are you shitting me a month!! Obviously if they take this long to give a set of wheels a quick check and possibly a couple spoke wrench turns they are completely incompetent.

After having mixed luck with some local bike shops, rays, I decided to try the corporate outfit. I got decent service and a great deal but they really need some better staff over there. Some of them are good but some are pretty bad. I had some problems with the store credit I was supposed to receive for signing up to get a discount card. Just like the local shops, they love you when your ready to drop some serious cash. Who doesnt.

So the Google posting for the location says open til 8pm. Showed up at 730 and they were closed. I called hoping they would open for us but the guy on the phone who was in the repair Dept said Oh, the Internet hasnt caught up w our new hours. So he wouldnt let us in. Went around the corner to Sport Chalet and bought a bike there. I guess Performance is doing great as they apparently didnt need our business.

Worst bike shop in Ventura County. You wont get knowledgeable service, the manager Steve doesnt even ride a bike. He was rude and impolite when asked about higher end bikes and kept trying to show cheap, crappy bikes. When he set me up for a test ride, he didnt even know how to adjust the seat for me. Save your self the trouble and go to a locally owned bike shop.

Went in today and Mike (or Michael (on his Name tag) was a tremendous help!!! He totally went the extra mile to help me. He embodied the concept of quality customer service!!!! The workers there are super friendly, have great customer service I am extremely pleased going there. I would recommend everyone to go there if you are looking for great friendly customer service and put totally interest and helping, making sure they customers leave happy..

Good luck getting any one to answer the phone. Three attempts today calling them And when you go in there half the people have no clue what their doing and have always seek someone elsa out to help you
