Never had a issue with McClendon and always made sure to go get hardware for my grandparents there. Today my husband and I were there grabbing a door knob, a piece of wood and some wax and stain. Well I go to check out this younger girl with brown hair ( 03/02/2017 first check stand at about 12:45) says as loud as she could if they tagged the wood I had. I said no I did not know that was suppose to be done. She so rudely goes well you do need to get it tagged. I said ok and who puts it on? I was inquiring if she could help us, I dont work there no one was back there I stated. she ignored me. My husband said forget it and went to put it back. She turns to me and goes its really expensive like 14.99 a foot. I said ok... Like I cant afford to buy wood because I am off work today with my hair in a pony tail and sweats on... That left a bad taste. We were excited to find the wood he would use for projects there but I will never be back to buy from you guys again. I dont know who that girl at the store is or why she has such a bad attitude and annoyed look but people like her really ruin a good expierence. I can take someone not friendly but I work hard and in customer service and the way she treated me was beyond rude and not helpful. I will spend our money else where. Hopefully this is something you will look into. I dont complain normally but this girl is beyond rude and needs to be retrained on being respectful and customer oriented. Even before I went up to be rang up she was giving me a dirty look. I will not be purchasing anymore hardware for my rental or my grandparents home when things need to be fixed. I love helping local businesses but will be sure to go elsewhere. I may have been running errands and not looking my best but I also would suspect on my day off it should not matter as a paying customer. I am still beyond mad and hurt actually. If something needs to be tagged instead of screaming about it or whatever with a bad attitude maybe in a nicer tone and getting someone to help would be useful. Not just yelling about it and then not coming up with a solution to help a paying customer. Then making a snide remark about the price if she new the price why not further assist instead of acting like I couldnt afford it. I make pretty good money as well as my husband which shouldnt matter. A hardware store is not a beauty contest. I was made to feel like I was below her. I am a full time working mother and my husband is a disabled combat vet with a small business. She needs to look beyond someones looks and do her job as a cashier and bring customer service. I hope she does not treat others that way and sadly she probably does. By the way the door knob had a missing piece thankfully we got it figured out I didnt even want to waste my time exchanging it.

Me and my boyfriend shop here all the time and to get treated with such disrespect was unbelievable to me. We are a younger couple but come in with our son all the time. Today your cashier was completely rude as well as half your staff that was working on 9-3-26 around 5pm. I just couldnt believe it. We went in to get some fencing the price was $2.69 each so we were going to get 25 to start with and 3 cross boards at 1.49 a piece. So I had asked one of the guys working in the yard if he could cut the smaller boards in half he says sure not a problem at all. So I walked up to the register to pay and the cashier kept putting in the numbers wrong and said the price was 5 dollars a piece. I told her that was wrong and then she started rolling her eyes at us and then proceeded to have an attitude with us and said she needed to go back to check the numbers. I told her exactly were they were with the signs and everything it was right up front by their bay doors. Well after like 5 minutes she finally comes back then says she couldnt find it and didnt know who I was talking about when I said who helped me. So then I had to walk to the yard show a random person who offers to help me were we got the price and everything. He got the number to work on his computer just fine. So then he walks back up to the register with us gives her the numbers and yet again she puts in the wrong numbers. She really needs so help with her customer service skills cause shes extremely rude and so very disrespectful. I have friends who work here I also worked with your company and few years ago and we would never have treated our customers with such disrespect and horrible service. Horrible horrible service

7/31/2016 Sunday, went into the store and asked for certain type of D shape bracket for shelve holding. Lady tried to get someone and I asked if they have one. The guy said "no", thats it. he didnt even looked at it close... so I asked again, no? then you dont have anything similar? or any brackets? shells? or any hardware? He already turned half way and didnt even looked at me and just said "no". I know hes on his period but dont do this to your customer... Hes just such an assole. So I turned and dig into the hardware parts and find exatly same part and even numbers of other good option there. I was buying 2X4 the other day and similar happens and they just dont care. I had to search for 3 different store clerk to get help. Sprinkler head broke and asked for help but usual idk and no is coming... Why do you work there if you dont know what youre selling or not want to help customer? Take that old McLendon grandpa picture off on the wall first. Never will ask you for any help.

I love the open-stock hardware section, where you can buy the exact amount of screws, washers, nuts, etc., you need for that small project, with no waste. Also love that I can buy 12 bags of mulch and have it loaded for me. And, lastly, the best of all, employees who actually know what products and hey carry and where they are at in the store, and who will take the time to show you where they are and not just say "those are in aisle 12". If you are in a hurry to get in and out and dont want to fool with clueless workers, you want to come here. (Last thing me I went to Home Depot, it took a complaint to a senior manager and 45 minutes of frustration to get a cube of peat moss!) I will pay a penny on a dollar more not to have to deal with idiots. On my way to Mclendons now to get some line for my weed whacker. I know they have it. I know I wont have to wander all over the store trying to find it. I know where the professionals work: Mcclendons!
