After not finding what I needed at my local small hardware store (which is usually pretty good), I wasted 45 min at a Home Depot, being passed around from one person who didnt know anything to another who didnt know anything, to another..., I made my way to McClendons. I am a middle aged woman, just starting to try DIY projects--from landscaping to porcelain tub repair to using power tools. The staff at McClendons are knowledgeable about projects and products; and never condescending. Was able to find and get assistance from 3 great people on my three projects; and was in and out in twenty minutes--even on a very busy 4th of July weekend. (Huge check-out line that moved super fast) While at McClendons, I ran into a man who had been at the Home Depot when I was there. We just looked at each other, laughed and said "Why do we even bother going anywhere else?" They have everything, they know everything!

These folks take customer service to a new level! Everyone is incredible helpful and friendly, Dinia, in the painting Dept was kind enough to to deliver ceremic pots to my sons house that I purchased when I went to Seattle to visit! If you need ANYTHING in the hardware Dept....This is the place to go!

I love coming here. The folks are knowledgeable, real people whove actually used the products theyre selling. You dont have to walk around for hours trying to find someone to help you. Theyre not condescending when you dont know things. Genuine good honest folk.

It took us 4 months of living in the area and being disappointed with Home Depot before finding this place. Its a fantastic hardware store with quality products and selection. They have a small but choice selection of lumber and the employees are very friendly.

This is my favorite Seattle area hardware store. We have a 1950s house and they stock just about everything I need to repair anything at home. I like the old school vibe vs. the big box experience. I find the staff helpful and possibly ex tradespeople.
