Wow, just WOW. We stopped by here at about 5:30 on a Wednesday, and didnt make it 7 feet in the front door before we were warmly greeted by a young associate, he offered help with finding anything, but it was just our intent to wander and explore. We did just that and were pleasantly surprised by the wide selection of hardware stuff they have packed into this place. From nuts and bolts, plumbing, electrical, to giant FIRE LANE stencils theyve got everything. Scott (I think it was Scott) in paint gave us a full tour of the paint department, the little lumberyard in the back and pointed us in the direction of the garden center. We explored some more. I found a REAL GAS CAN that I HAD to have. Steel, with a valve that can be operated without spilling GALLONS of gas all over the place like those stupid EPA-approved Store/Pour ones. A mans gas can. It was a little pricey, (at $45) but I cannot tell you how much I have lamented the demise of the decent gas can, though I bet my wife can. We also found and bought a little keychain-sized 3 tape measure to keep around for quick sizing up of the sitch. The staff here was super-friendly and super helpful. The selection was great for a non-Lowes/HomeDepot hardware store. And the amount and variety of paint they had in the place blew our minds. I highly recommend you stop by and give these folks a try.

They are reminiscent of the old the Mom and Pop Hardware.. They have a bountiful inventory.. Prices r competitive with the other large home "Improvement". Paint &, supplies. Large supply gardening tools, soils, seeds along with seasonal garden plants, vegetables. Variety of trees, Evergreen Scrubs and flowering Scrubs eg, Rhododendron. Feels a bit uncomfortable when one wants to take time looking to shop but have an employee hovering is most uncomfortable. Ive been told & then I, myself had felt like I was being profiled a shoplifter. I picked up an item an sale from their mailer only to discover was over charged for the item, I realized later. I didnt return the item for a price adjustment, I chalked it up too have been uncomfortable and rushed.

The absolute best customer service I have ever seen. If they dont have something they will go above and beyond to get what you need. The people that work there truly know what customer service is about. I wish more stores had employees like Lakewood Hardware. My husband runs a small business doing repairs and remodel jobs and is there almost every day. Its always the first place he goes and if they dont have something in stock that he needs they get it, no problem! I cant say enough good things about this store. Go there first before going to any other , I promise they will not let you down!

Fantastic service, not like the big box stores. Ive been in Lowes for up to a half hour, and had ten people pass by me, and not even say a word to me! Remember this was part of the KMART down fall! I think when you have too many employees, its too easy for the people to just blend into the place, collect a paycheck, and hope everything stays the same. Lakewood Hardware hunts you down, especially Miss KIT is just fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She made many phone calls over some blinds that just came out to $45.00 for her place of employment!
