Update on 2/16/17 STILL MOST AMAZING COMPASSIONATE STAFF, who go the extra mile for their customers!! KC or Kacee (?) the supervisor made more than right something that didnt go as smoothly for me today. The people who are employed, particularly at this location, are so personable and truly make customers feel appreciated. :) Previous Review: The staff rocks here, though building not as pretty as other newer locations I would pick this one EVERYDAY! Ignore the 1 star post by the special person who meant it for Maryland location NOT WA STATE.

My husband has been in the checkout line for 15 minutes. I fear he will die there. In general, we avoid this store as much as possible. Often the shelves are poorly stocked. On a recent midweek visit, they were completely out of chicken breasts, bananas, and most brands of yogurt. The cashiers are laughably slow. I am actually impressed that theyve managed to find so many people that slow. If you can, go to QFC across the street for faster service and a better selection.

This is a small grocery store in the newcastle area. Unlike other safeways it doesnt have self checkout. It is kind of slow checking out people. It does have 5 or 6 regular checkout and 2 express checkout. It has a good collection of garden supply and flowers. The pharmacy is small compared to other safeways. It is getting better these days in terms of number of visitors and service.

We had a pet accident on Thanksgiving day night. Since this is the closest grocery store to our house, I called in and was amazed they were open at 7:45pm. Even though they were on a skeleton staff for the holiday, the supervisor reopened the register at customer service to rent me a rug doctor. Add Safeway Coal Creek to my list of things to be thankful for on Thanksgiving!

The worst. I hope you have at least 15 minutes just to wait in line because they have THE slowest cashiers. They are also unable to comprehend when opening additional lanes is necessary, instead allowing lines to build 12+ customers deep as the staff mosey along...

Id give it more stars if their hot food section wasnt so poorly managed. The Asian in the army hat is very rude. Usually the food is disgusting and old and I think a lot of waste happens. I have to be very picky with food choices to come out on top.

Friendly cashiers, helpful and friendly staff. Gets super busy around 4-6pm when people are stopping after work. Fried chicken is pretty good fresh (Monday when its discounted is the best time) but often get old, hard, pieces when its slow.

Big store, lots of choices and often busy because it is far better than QFC across the street. Lower prices than QFC and better produce by far. The pharmacy is Ok. I tend to go to this store almost daily.

Not a fan of this Safeway. Its always under staffed and waiting for beverage service can take 5+ minutes. They always have only one or two check-out lines open and they are usually too long.

Probably best grocery store in the area. Way better than Safeway on Factoria or Albertsons on Sunset. QFC across the street is of similar quality, but more expansive for some unknown reason.

Awesome store. I lived in Newcastle for 1 year and used to buy grocery from this store. I never got disappointed with this store. Staff members are very nice and helpful.

I personally like the QFC across the street better. QFC has a self-checkout line (4 of them) while Safeway has zero. Produce at QFC seems better too.

Just not a big fan of Safeway. Its a crash and bash parking lot. Youll be paying for more in damage to your car than the groceries you pick up.

I grew up going to the Safeway its got a great selection, is clean, and well-stocked. Downfall is prices are higher because of the location.
