DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY! BIGGEST WASTE OF TIME AND VERY RUDE The salesman and managers at Karl Malone Mitsubishi were such a waste of time. We were very upfront about how much we wanted to spend. Sale rep didn’t seem to pay attention to this at all. None of the vehicles had prices displayed, so we trusted the salesman when he said that the first car that we test drove would work within our budget. When test driving the car, just about every light came on. They promised those would all be fixed and we should start signing the papers. We did not feel comfortable with this so we said we wanted it to be diagnosed before signing. They agreed and came back and said transmission was bad. Then they had us test drive a lot nicer of a car. They said we can make this work with the monthly payment requested. They went back to talk to manager and came back almost tripled what we had very clearly stated with monthly payments. Sells rep then found another car at another dealership and stated once again this one would absolutely work with payments. We drove to another dealership and return back to Karl Malone Mitsubishi and he went back to talk to manger and we he came back yet again it was double than what we could afford. We had wasted about 4 hours at this point so we decided to come back the next day. I found a car online at another dealership, so they said they would pick it up and we could come look at it. Test drove it and loved the car. When we went in to sign all of the papers, we found out they had added $2,000 to the price -they said it was a shop fee. This was not discussed upfront. We stated we didn’t want to sign, so the salesman Bobby came back and said they would add $2,000 more on the trade in. We agreed since this would actually lower our monthly payments. After we signed all of the paperwork and put down $2,000, they told us that they needed to send the car through the shop, and they couldn’t fit it in for 2 days. The entire time we were there they had been saying we would be taking the car home that day, and now it was 2 more days. After waiting the two days they promised, we didn’t get a call. We called them several times and they were not returning our calls. Finally, late that night they called and said that the bank would not approve the interest rate we had discussed, and the monthly payment would be about $100 more than what we agreed on. We finally said no, and asked for a refund on our down payment. The sells rep then became very rude, asking why we would want our money back. When we told him the monthly payment would be too high, he refused to tell us how to get our money back. We asked to speak with a manager - the manager said he would see what had happened with the bank and call us back. We never received a call back. We had to go to the dealership and speak with receptionist for a refund. We ended up talking with our bank to see why they wouldn’t approve a lower rate. The bank said when the dealership sent the paper work over however the car was well over market value because of the $2,000 they added on. The dealership also only sent over info for one loan applicant and there were two of us that should have been on the loan. And they didn’t tell the bank that we were paying off trade-in. Since all of the information given to them was incorrect, the bank set a higher interest rate. At the end of the day I’m glad it didn’t go through. EVERYTHING THIS DEALERSHIP SAID WAS A LIE.

Not too impressed overall with this place. I traded in an 07 Silverado for an 06 Ram which they had only had for a few hours. First the good, the buying process was fairly painless after i decided to pull the trigger and they gave me a good deal on my trade. Since the truck i bought had only been on the lot a few hours, it hadnt been safety inspected yet. It was the end of the day on labor day so their mechanics werent there and they delivered the truck to my house 2 days later when it was ready. Now the bad. The 06 Ram had 196,000 miles on it and generally they need new ball joints, steering linkage, etc about every 50,000 miles so i figured it was probably due, and the steering was a little wobbly which confirmed that suspicion. So i walked into this knowing mostly what i was getting into. The rest of the truck was in great shape and i didnt have a problem putting some work into it. What i did have a problem with was the sales guy telling me everything was good when it wasnt. As I pulled the cover off the air filter he said it was good without really even being able to see it and a few other similar things. In addition to trying to gloss over things he was so anxious to make the sale he made promises he couldnt keep. He promised me that the service department would have it inspected and ready by 6 the next day and i could come and pick it up. It was labor day and they had a backlog of cars to get out the door. So i made the hour drive the next day to pick it up and it wasnt ready. They made up for that by delivering the truck to me the next day. I dont fault the service department for that. I do fault them for passing the truck on the safety inspection when it should have failed. When i got my mechanic to replace the steering linkage he told me steering arm (tie rod) going to the right wheel could have failed at any time. In other words it could have completely come off leaving me with a tire on one side that could point whichever direction it wanted to and if in traffic would have insured a multi car crash since the truck would have been largely uncontrollable. The more i think about that the more it bothers me. A full size truck going out of control doing 80 on the freeway could easily kill someone. I drove the truck about 600 miles before i grounded it until i could fix it because the steering was so bad and it was chewing up the front tires. My mechanic told me it takes years to do that kind of damage to a tie rod end not the less than 3 months Id had the truck, half of which it hadnt been driven. I rarely write reviews, only if the service is really exceptional, either good or bad. Id rather write about the good. The buying experience was about middle of the road, hey what do you expect from salesmen? They generally dont know mechanical issues like mechanics so i dont fault them for the safety issue, I love the truck especially now that the front end has had all the work done on it. But the idea that i came close to having a serious accident either because someone in the service department was careless or flat out ignored it to save money really bothers me.

Close your eyes. Think of a movie that has a used car salesman in a tweed jacket trying to tell you how great their cars are. The salesman says "Let me talk to my manager to see if I can get you a lower price." You think theyre giving you the best deal ever. Open your eyes. You are now standing in Karl Malone Used Car Outlet, and instead of a tweed jacket, its a 4 salesman that look like theyre best friends trying to get you to buy a car. I had a decent experience two years ago when I bought a car from them, thats why I came back. However, they were awful this time around. They almost reduced my wife to tears. They showed us literally one car on their lot, and then tried to get us to buy it for $14,999. I found that exact same car posted online, for $11,700. They were jacking up the price tremendously. The car also had many paint chips, and a big hole and dent in the back bumper. They tried to force this car on us. My wife got sick of this place, and we both got sick of how they drive you to look at other cars. After they tried to get us to buy that one car, we told them we wanted to see other options. They then proceeded to drive us around in the car they wanted us to buy, "flexing" the cars muscles and flooring it from one lot to the next. It was such a horrible drive that my wife almost threw up. Awful. When we said we were going to another location to look at another car, they followed us like snakes trying to get us to buy that one car. They hounded and begged. This is the best part. We told them we wanted to go to Enterprise to look at another vehicle, and they said "Oh dont go there, they only have rentals. You dont want to buy a rental." So we told them what car we were going to look at, and they said, "Oh thats a really good deal. We cant beat that." We said well then, if you cant beat it, bye bye. They then proceeded to contradict themselves by saying "Look, most of the cars on our lot are purchased from rentals, just save yourself some time and buy from us." Wait. I thought you said that rentals werent good to buy. The last nail in the coffin, was they said that since we were a returning customer we would get $500 off our next purchase. Great! When I showed them the $11,700 listing, they said they could only get $70 off for us. But what they did offer was a "$500 value for a anti-microbial mist that would sanitize the car for months." Thats lame. Well, thats great that youre going back on your word before we even got out the door. Bye guys, I dont like giving negative reviews, but you deserved it. 2 stars because our transaction two years ago was just okay (3 stars) and the transaction this time was 0 stars.
