Steer clear. They are shady and manipulative and RUN CREDIT CHECKS WITHOUT PERMISSION! For the first time, I am researching cars and choosing the one I want to buy because I like it the most...in the past it has always been "My car died, I need a new one, what do you have on the lot?" kind of purchases. I researched online and found about 5 cars I was interested in test driving. I made appointments at all the locations to do some test driving. Lowbook had a Honda CR-V I wanted to check out, but it was only 1 of the five on my list. When I got to Lowbook, the salesman literally swarmed. As a single female, I think they hoped I was clueless and an easy sell. Because I have done my research and really just wanted to test drive, that wasnt the case. The guy sat me down and said "Lets fill in some of the gaps..." regarding my "customer profile". He took my info and then said "Im going to print off a form to sign so I can pull your numbers and see what we can do for you".... I reminded him that I WAS NOT buying a car today and that I certainly wasnt signing for a credit check before I had even set eyes on the car I came to see. He did the little "Well dont you want to see what I can offer you as far as financing?" I replied that I had financing covered and was just test driving and that was all. He said "Okay, well let me get your drivers license and we will see what we can do"... Ten minutes later A DIFFERENT guy came back and gave me my drivers license. Then he said he was the "floor manager" and just wanted to know what I was there for. I told him I was there to test drive, I had other cars to Test Drive as well and would be making my decision early the next week. He said "In a magical world, what would have to happen for you to buy a car from me today?"....before I had even seen a car! I told him again I would not be buying but was spending the weekend test driving and would make a decision on Monday. He said okay and that he would get the keys to the car I wanted to drive. TEN MINUTES LATER he came back and said that his "lot manager" had the keys to all of the Honda CR-Vs on the lot and he was at lunch, so I wouldnt be able to test drive today. He suggested I instead go test drive the other cars on my list and then "make Lowbook your last stop and then you can test drive and buy right away on Monday." That turned me off SO much. First of all, BS. The guy who happens to be at lunch (at 3:30 in the afternoon) just happens to have the keys to the car that I was SCHEDULED to drive? He didnt even offer to walk me to the car to see it. I was there for an hour and never even set eyes on the car I was there to drive... Secondly, I am so turned off by this that I decided I just wont return.... UNTIL I got an alert that my Credit had been run TWICE...without my permission or my signature. I called the guy who gave me his card and said I was beyond angry. He said "Im sorry, Im at home and cant look at anything now...but I will have my manager call you in the morning."....Funny, I thought YOU were the manager!! These guys are the epitome of stereotypical used car salesmen who manipulate and are shady as hell. DO NOT GO HERE.

I read some pretty frightening reviews about lowbook but went through them anyway as they said theyd get me approved. They did, but how they went about it was quite shady (in my opinion). After telling me what I could expect my payment to be they gave me the car and told me theyd let me know who to make payments to. They called me multiple times saying I needed to verify income that I had told them I was *probably* getting, but didnt want to apply with just in case; turns out they went right ahead and applied with it. (I did get the raise so I was able to verify, but I thought that was VERY bad business practice). Furthermore, when I told them I had to wait to get the income verification letter from my employer before I could forward it to them they threatened to "unwind the loan" if I didnt cooperate immediately (I had been driving the car for about a month at this point). After that (and still before my loan was finalized) they called me and told me I could lower my interest rate (and payment) if I gave them an additional $650 down payment, so I did. After getting my $650 some time goes by and I get a call from a credit union who is servicing my loan. They inform me that my monthly payment is almost 50% higher than what I was told to expect after applying my down payment (I was told it would be under 140 over the phone and Im now paying over 200). I had been driving the car for almost 2 months at this point. Basically, Im stuck with the absurd payment they ended up getting me and I feel like they either lied to me straight out or withheld information from me to make me feel like I was getting a better deal than I actually was. 1/5 because 0/5 is not an option. Do not go into business with these clowns they will find a way to secure your business whether its good for you as the consumer or not.

Low book Sales is very dishonest and the service department doesnt know what they are doing. This is a long story but please read the whole thing for your own protection. It started in the middle of February when I wanted to buy a car I was already preapproved through Capital One auto finance but I need it to buy the car from a dealer and because I found the car that I wanted I had to go to a dealer to have them finance it and so I went to low book sales. Low book sales told me they can give me a better rate and when Wells Fargo called me and did a phone interview they told me what my rate was going to be well when I went to go sign the paperwork the rate was 7% higher than what I was quoted and I told them what they had told me and they got mad at Wells Fargo because they wanted to make extra money off me. Two days later I lost my job but my wife still had a job so when they called to verify my employment they had told him I no longer work there so I had to come back with my wife and re-sign the paperwork and just her name when I did that they even raise the interest rate so fed up and desperate for a car we signed. I was also sold an extended warranty that was supposed to cover everything other than where in tear items. When we were going to get the car the service department had to do a safety inspection and they told me that its not going to pass because it had air suspension and the windows were tinted too dark but Ted the service manager told me for 100 bucks he could make the safety inspection pass so I agreed. A couple days later I found out that the car had extensive damage underneath the front of it but if low book sales wouldve inspected it like they should have I wouldve known that problem and I wouldnt of bought the car. A month and a half later its making a weird noise like a knocking noise and the air conditioning also went out I took it to the service department and they couldnt figure out what was wrong with it and kept throwing parts at it. some of the parts I had to pay $740 for because they said they were not covered under warranty. My car was there almost a month and they didnt care I now have my car back and when I got it back my alignment is off pretty bad and I had VERY little coolant in my car. I will attach a video for proof. If you have any questions please let me know and Ill be more than happy to fill you in more. Im not gonna let this one go by and I will be suing low book sales.
