WARNING!!! STAY AWAY FROM BROWN TECHNICAL. I ordered several books on-line and paid thru the nose for express shipping. The internet said everything was in stock. I got shipping info on some of the books but not all of them. When I called to ask about the books that did not have shipping information, they said that those books were out of stock. I explained that all of the books were time sensitive and I was assured that they would all be received on-time. 5 of the books did not arrive on time. When I called about it, Irene insisted that all of them shipped together. How is this possible if they were out of stock. Also, I had a note on one of the packing lists stating that one of the books would be shipped separately. I got no useful information out of Irene. I called the next day hoping to speak with someone else but Irene answered the phone. When I requested to speak with someone else, I was put on hold and eventually disconnected. This happened multiple times. I finally gave up and tried to work with Irene later that same day. She acted like she had never spoken to me before buT it was less than 24 hours ago that I had spoken to her! Then she couldnt even find my order in her system so she informed me that it would take a little while. She kept me on the phone the whole time and after more than 5 minutes of silence, she asked if I was still there. When I said yes, she asked what she could help me with as if it was a brand new phone call! In my opinion, Irene is a joke! This nonsense when on for 6 business days and I finally asked for the order to be canceled and asked for a refund. She immediately disconnected the call on me. I called right back and no one answered. I tried multiple times throughout the rest of that day and no answer! So instead of calling from my work phone, I called from my cell phone and what a surprise, she answered. I asked for a refund again and she said I would need to speak with a manager. Same thing all over again, the call kept getting disconnected while waiting for a manager. So, I called American Express and filed a claim on the charges. After 4 weeks, American Express still had not received a response from Brown Technical. In the end, almost 3 months from the date of purchase, American Express approved my claim for lack of communication from Brown Technical. Irene is a joke! Brown Technical is a joke. Im extremely grateful for American Express right now because without them, I would have lost over $600.

Is there a lower score than 1 star? They take you money and RUN! Half of my order never arrived. When I called to ask about the balance of my order, I was told that everything was shipped. I waited 2 weeks to call back because I still had not received my books. I asked for them to cancel the order and they said ok. I kept a close eye on my credit card and after 3 weeks, I still did not see any refund. So I called back and they confirmed canceling the order and tried to say that I didnt request a refund. You have got to be kidding me, who in their right mind would want to pay for books that they did not receive? This place is beyond ridiculous!

If you are considering purchasing from this store, I would suggest that you look elsewhere. They are incredibly unprofessional, they lie about the availability of the products they offer on their website, and their customer service is horrible. They will take your payment the minute you place an order, but refuse to provide you a receipt or order confirmation. Then, theyll FORGET to process your order for up to 15 days until you call to follow-up. Then theyll just giggle about it and not even offer an apology.

A couple of times I called and left a message regarding a particular textbook. No response. I just tried the live chat. No response. I called and left a message for the manager to get back to me regarding selling textbooks if the college bookstore did not have the textbooks needed. Again, no response. I wish I could get a cushy job where I can sabotage my employer and still get paid with his blessings. Very unprofessional.

I can always find quirky different things in this bookstore. It not only has great technical books, but a wide variety of books that are not just on the best sellers lists. Always a great place to spend my lunch hour!
