Great little local bike shop. Purchased a nice Trek and had it professionally fitted by Aaron, who really knows his stuff about bikes and the mechanics of a proper fitment and adjustment. Learned a ton about body positions and how to get the most out of the bike. My girlfriend loved it so much she purchased the female version of the bike soon after, with similar good service. As someone opined on Yelp, yes they do load the bike up with accessories (lights, bottle cage, pouch, etc, common sales tactic I think), so if you just want the bare bike (some of us have collected those accessories from one bike or another), you just have to ask them to remove it all. Some of their accessory prices are competitive, and some you can get for cheaper on Amazon. As for the bike and large components, theyre very competitive, buying local helps. They also offer 10% off accessories for military, cant beat that. Oh yeah, Bell the weimaraner is a nice welcome if you catch her on one of her workdays.

This bike shop is one amazing place. Friendly staff, Amazing owner and dog, and a great place to catch the Tour De France every year. Tom and staff have supported the local cycling community for as long as I have known him/them. When I need any help on my bikes, I call JR or Aaron and within minutes they tell me what I need to do or if its better I bring it in so they can look at it. I have spent many miles on the road prior to my injury with the staff at Bay Area and I DO NOT shop anywhere else. Tom constantly sends his staff to training or conventions so they are up on the latest equipment and techniques. In fact, I came to Tom with zero Road cycling experience and through his knowledge and inspiration and later JR and Aaron (along with a few others) I was able to join the local racing team for 1 season and then train and compete in Triathon. Thank you Bay Area Bicycles, my family wishes you continued success.

I moved to Corpus Christi in the spring of 2011 and I am a proud owner of a Street Strider.It is a unique vehicle that is great to ride and can be a small challenge to work on. Prior to moving to CC I did all the upkeep including assembling it at initial purchase. Not only do they do a GREAT job keeping it in tune for me they are glad to see me when I bring my Street Strider in for repairs or tune ups. The tires are very hard to source and they have helped me upgrade to a tire that is very difficult to puncture and provides a very good feel. As long as they exist I will be a customer! Mark R. I bought my first real bike at this shop after just one test ride and theyve been helpful ever since. The staff is very nice and every time I visit I get useful advice and recommendations and even a couple free samples of nutrition supplements to try out. You can find some products on-line with cheaper prices but you wont get the same customer service that this place offers. The owner is very active with-in the community and Ive joined them a couple times on charity rides and had a good time. Great bike shop!

Very dissappointed. I was ready to look at products and make a purchase and was never greeted by anyone in the store. I walked around for a few minutes and was never approached by an employee. The store was not that busy. I left the store after walking around for over five minutes unnoticed. I still dont think they noticed me leave either. I immediately left this store and went straight to another bike shop to make my purchaces. Good location, I assume the products are good, bad customer service.

Maintenance was done professionally and bike was delivered on time. However, the technician tried to convince me that I needed to replace my crankset because the teeth were worn. Fortunately, I have experience working in a bike store (and on my own car) and I was able to point out that the teeth were in excellent shape. Really, really dislike when someone tries to upsell me a service that I dont need bc they think Im a dumb blonde. Shame on them... and caveat emptor.

I was very pleased and satisfied with the customer service. I brought in a classic vintage Schwinn Road Bike that was damaged from a car accident and they were happy to order the necessary parts to restore it back to its riding condition. The bike rep, Junior, was very helpful with the whole process and had the bike ready within a few days. Overall, I recommend Bay Area over the Pedal.

Accused innocent people of stealing not a good service,i need customer relations help asap,refused of selling stuff because i look poor another rude and disrespectful,gentleman refused to sell a Trek medone because he already looks bad in front of his boss so i guess the owner just lost 800 dollar because i already told the guy will put 300 in there just to hold on to the bike

Bay Area Bicycles has very friendly and helpful staff. I purchased a road bike from them, and was extremely impressed with my experience there. A week after I purchased my bike, I took my wife in to get fit for a bike. Eric is very friendly and helpful. I will defiantly return for any future bicycle needs.
