For starters, the purchasing experience with Wheeler Dealer was excellent! I was treated well and given what I would consider a good deal on a new Specialized Rockhopper. After months of riding the bike, very few miles were put on during this time, I took it in for initial adjustment and service. No issues with the service, I scheduled a date, and the bike was ready in a day or two. More recently however my bike had started to develop a bottom bracket creak and looseness in the front fork. (I only ride my bike to class and the occasional easy trail) Coming from a BMX background, I understand most main components, but I am still on a learning curve with specific driveline and suspension parts on a MTB. Anyway, living out of town, I took it to my LBS to have it checked out. Within the day, they stated I needed a new bottom bracket and that the fork needed to be replaced/rebuilt. I paid them for the diagnosis and scheduled a date with Wheeler Dealer to bring it in and have the aforementioned parts warrantied or fixed. So my first complaint arises, within a few days, they called me and said the fork had issues and that they needed to contact Suntour to inquire about replacement parts or a new fork. It took them 4 days to "get ahold" of Suntour only to discover that they had to go through their website to contact them. (not very proactive in my opinion). Well took a few days, but they got replacement parts in and rebuilt my fork. I then get a call saying that my fork was fixed but they just discovered that my bottom bracket needed to be replaced as well and that it would be a few more days while they waited for parts to come in. This was after almost 2 weeks of them having my bike; why did it take them almost 2 weeks to diagnose what the other shop did in one day? After making a decent fuss about it, they sourced an "upgraded" Shimano BB locally and had my bike back together. I had my dad swing by the next day to pick up the bike, I just wanted it back at this point. The next weekend I decided to go to a local trail to get back on my bike and make sure everything was squared away. Not even halfway into the trail, my bottom bracket started creaking again, worse than before I took it into Wheeler Dealer for service. It had also developed some shifting and chain skipping issues. Not being able to finish my day of riding, I headed back to town and to my LBS. A few days they get back to me stating the bikes all good now and I was ready to go. Heres what they stated they found: They found the BB was installed with teflon tape over the more popular anti-seize grease (matter of opinion, but the consensus is usually grease), they also found the BB to not be fully installed. The shifting and skipping issue was a simple adjustment of my rear derailleur, so Im not going to blame WD on that one. Regardless I am upset with the amount of time it took WD to service my bike and upset with the quality of work I received back. I will not mention specifics, but a few of the phone conversations I had with the service department were not what I would call professional. Overall I give the sales side of Wheeler Dealer a 5 star rating, but the service side a 1-2 star rating. Its disappointing to see a company that has a long history in OKC and that prides themselves in their service department do this quality of work. There are always two sides to every story, so take mine as you will, but I have only stated my experience. Unfortunately this has left me with such a bad taste in my mouth that I will not be returning to Wheeler Dealer. My warranty period is almost up, and unless something catastrophic happens within that time, I will take my bike somewhere else that is more friendly and has more quality control. Thanks for taking time to read my review.

I have given Wheeler Dealer more than a few chances to prove to me they are a good shop. The mechanics lack knowledge and seem to be interested in their own builds over helping you. It all started a few years ago, when I wanted to some new tubes and tires for a road bike. Any bike shop should be able to do this in a matter of minutes (luckily I know how to do this now). The mechanics sent me off with punctured tubes 3 times. While, they replaced the tubes at not cost I still have to go back and forth 3 times. Next, I asked the mechanics for a simple disc brake adjustment, wheel alignment and a shift lever mount. Again, more standard procedure tweaks. The mechanics had my bike for three days only to tell me they would need me to purchase hundreds of dollars of new equipment to make my parts work. So, I took my bike to another shop and it was running in 2 days. Last chance, I came into to look at some accessories. I figured the least they could do is sell retail items without a hassle. However, instead of being helpful the mechanics made it there point to prove how much more they knew than me and how there builds are superior to mine. Its great to hear about how good of bike they can build, but I dont get parts at cost and am not shopping for a new bike. The employees are just not that helpful. I have been to many bike shops and understand the bike mechanic mentality, but at least the rude bike mechanics at other shops know what they are doing. This shop needs to hire new staff. Staff that is less interested in telling you about how great their bikes are and more interested in your bike.

Went here back in 2008 to look at getting a real mountain bike, instead of the diamondback hybrid thing that was not cuttin it on the Lake Thunderbird trails. (Diamondback from Wheeler Dealer, had the sticker on the frame) I dont have much time to spend on being a mountain bike expert, and I learned nothing about how much better a rockhopper would be than the Sorrento. Salesman actually asked me to wait when someone came in the door, came back and said no kidding "So you going to buy it yet?" About that point I went to Pro Bike around the corner and was professionally set up with a Trek 4500 that is perfect for me to this day!! 250 miles later (on cateye they threw into deal) and has not even needed tuning, I cant believe it from my experience with the walmart Diamondback. Now Im back in the market for my wife, who is very much so a beginner with bicycles, so I know we are not going to wheeler dealer. I worked at a car dealership for a few years, so that seems wrong that a former used car salesman thought it was a bad experience, Ive been the worst of the worst LOL!

This is my first review on google, just because I thought the experience was that bad. I went in after going to Pro Bikes (very helpful btw, but didnt carry Specialized). I walk in, and immediately next to the door, one employee is talking to a girl and her boyfriend, sounded like they knew each other and were catching up. Another employee behind the counter, and one fitting a guy with some shoes. I walk around the store a few times, look at some bikes, both men and women, so its kind of obvious I might be buying two bikes. After about 5 minutes, and learning way more about the young lady than I cared to, I walk out the door without ever being greeted or acknowledged. The guy didnt even acknowledge me upon leaving, no "thanks for coming in", "didnt find what you were looking for?" etc. This is a small store so I was within eye and ear shot the whole time, he could have said be right with you, but instead I wasted my lunch hour. If on this side of town, go to Pro Bikes, or an Als if you have one nearby, but Wheeler Dealer will never get a dime of my money.
