Summary: Amazing customer service, high quality bikes, and fair market prices. The Owners of Bicycle X-Change, staff and bike selection are impressive. I walked into the store on a Thursday evening right before close, Mr. Scanga aka the Bikeman listened to what I was looking for and found the perfect bike for me even though I was originally asking for a road bike with the goal of competing in triathlons. He simply asked me why not get a tri bike? ..... Good point, Yeah! that is what I was looking for originally but may have let myself be persuaded by the recommendations from other bike shops in town which really only had road bikes for sale. Mr. Scanga took the time to explain the various features of the bikes he recommended, even after the shop had closed. Before heading out he introduced me to his son Patrick who is a pro fitter. Pat just like his Dad was very willing to share his wealth of knowledge with some noob, aka me, answering my noobish questions completely and respectfully. Since it was nearly a quarter past closing time I decided to finally leave the nice folks alone and head out. I took the night to sleep on the decision of whether to continue my search for the perfect bike or buy the Felt B16 that was keeping me up due to the fact that another lucky customer could potentially buy it before me. Securing this hidden gem for themselves, leaving me on the ole dusty trail in search of another. The next day, Friday I raced to the shop after work. Again, arriving just a little before close with the intentions to buy that beaut of a bike. I decided to pull the trigger not only on the bike but all the gear that I would need to hit the ground rolling. By this point it was closing time again but Patrick offered to stay and get me fitted to the bike. The process to get properly fitted took about an hour and half. Overall, great experience! Now all that is left is a few hundred hours of training and then competing in the triathlons that I bought the bike for. If you need anything related to bicycles I would certainly recommend Bicycle X-Change on Douglas. Cheers, Ben

Since moving down to Dallas I been in the market to find a bicycle to commute to work everyday and be able to trail ride on the weekends. My brother had bought a bike from BXC several years back and recommended that I contact them and see what they can do for me. Patrick at BXC helped me and gave me some models to look at and gave his honest opinions of each bike, and told me to check out my local bike shop. After a few phone calls and some research I bought the Trek DS 8.4 at Bicycle X-Change while I was on Christmas break visiting my family in Wichita since he was SO helpful. BXC made me feel confident and well educated and I didnt feel any pressure to have to buy any bike. Best customer support I have ever received from any stores out there! Will definitely be back in the future when I need another bike even if Im in a different country!!

I have been looking for a good bike that I could both commute to work on, as well as go trail riding with, but none of the shops in the Kansas City area where I live were very helpful. Since my family lives in Wichita and I was going down for the weekend for a visit, I decided I was going to check out some shops in Wichita. Bicycle X-Change was the first and it turned out the only shop I needed to go to. The people there spent well over an hour helping me and educating me instead of "telling" me. They found the perfect bike for me, gave me a great price, and even installed the bike rack on my car so I could get it back to Kansas City. After my experience there, I would definitely recommend Bicycle X-Change to anyone looking to get a quality bike.

This place is alright but wouldnt be my first place to get any additional service. Dealing with people there was really hit or miss. New to Wichita, this was the first place I went to. Might have saved a few bucks and foregone the $70 check-over and had them do the few things that were necesary that wouldve saved me quite a few dollars. With several bike shop options that I later learned of, it really comes down to customer service -positive, friendly and helpful attitudes that keep me coming back werent something I saw consistent with this place - really depends who you get . On the plus side, they have a very nice selection of Trek bikes, the shop is large and with many accessories.

Wonderful business! My granddaughters bicycle was stolen off their front porch and she relied on it to get around. Being unable to replace it I contacted Bicycle X-Change and she was one of the many people that they have now provided bicycles for. Our visit to the store was worth the trip just for the Old Town atmosphere. The store is filled with most anything bike related you might need and the employees are friendly and helpful. I found out while we were there that you can rent bikes to check out Wichita and the bike trails too! Old Town is very bike friendly and has "hitching posts" along the edge of the sidewalks to lock you bike too. So rent a bike a check out Old Town. :)

Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Im a runner and wanted to start doing some cross-training on a road bike. I saw the article in the wichita eagle about them giving away bikes for christmas to needy children, so thats why I chose to go to the Bicycle X-Change. Ive had a mountain bike as a kid, but the staff showed me the differences between a bunch of bikes and got me set up on an awesome road bike. They even got me a heck of a deal on a closeout on last years model. Thanks guys for all your help, and I know you made a lot of kids happy this holiday season.

Friendly staff and great selection! Been a customer for years and still visit occasionally from out of state. They have a wide variety of bikes and brands to choose from. Ive boughten several bikes from here and theyve always been straight with me through the purchase and after. If you need repairs or want to upgrade they have a good knowledgeable set of mechanics as well as lots of aftermarket parts to choose from. I would recommend this to anyone whether youre looking to start riding, are a hardcore cyclist, or just want to browse a cool place.

These guys are the best! I was coming into town from a 2 hour drive bringing my sons bike with me to get a couple of adjustments made. When I called to see if they could work it in I found out they were doing some mild remodeling and were going to be closed for a couple days. But knowing that I came from out of town Jay stepped up and agreed to meet me at the shop and take care of my sons bike for me. These guys have amazing customer service. They go above and beyond to take care of their customers! I wouldnt buy a BMX anywhere else!

My wife and I recently went to "look" at bikes as she is normally one to research everything prior to purchasing. Michael Patrick spent so much time wth us, explained the differences between each type of bike, had us try several different models to experience the differences, and answered ALL of her questions thoroughly. Because of this, we left with two great bikes that fit us well. We went for our first family bike ride in years and do not regret our purchase at all. Thank you Bicycle Exchange for a wonderful experience!
