The word flavorless comes to mind after having eaten lunch here. I had miso soup which was basically lukewarm water with leaves floating in it (didnt even look like seaweed) and bagel rolls which had no scallions and were made with old salmon (it didnt even look like salmon, the fat marbling was the only way I could identify it). my friend had the salmon sashimi and said her pieces lack firmness associated with fresh fish, hers was also greasy. Neither one of us were impressed. Additionally the service was slow, despite being one of the three tables that were actually seated. When I first walked in the place had an odor and I almost walked out but decided to give the place a chance. Now I wish i hadnt. They have a huge selection, but with poor quality ingredients it doesnt even matter. For the quality (or lack of) this place is definitely over-priced.

Im often skeptical when I read reviews for Sushi because I dont know how often and how many sushi restaurants the reviewers have been to, to fairly compare good sushi vs bad. Also if they only eat cooked sushi then those dont count. My rating pertains to the fish quality. I had tuna, salmon, and white tuna in rolls and sushimi. All three melt in you mouth, and have no fish taste. Need I say more! The rice was also cooked to perfection. Im glad I trusted the reviews because if I drove by I would have not given this place a chance:) Great job Chef!!!

Still an excellent restaurant for those who enjoy great food at an affordable price in an unpretentious, clean, and comfortable setting. This is foodie territory indeed!! Sushi chef also strives to deliver menu options beyond what is generally available in other acceptable, standard-fare Miami sushi restaurants. P.S. This from our child: "sushi chef has delicious meat teriyaki and the miso soup is delectable and the desserts there are totally awesome! one last tip: sushi chef rocks!"

I will be dreaming of this perfect sushi place in the years to come. Exemplary service does justice to a surpisingly fresh approach to my favorites. The maguro nigiri with a bit of an exotic green added. The unagi with all the right textures. They know what theyre doing here. Prices very reasonable considering the quality. Non-sushi fans also enjoyed well prepared, moist chicken and a unique, fresh vegetable soup. Delicious little ice cream balls for dessert. Well be back!

You wouldnt have notice this place if you dont go 10mph. The food is good for its price and have some good selection. Sushi dont taste like rubber like some buffet in the area. Lots of sake to choose from than I was thought possible but Im no expert. The one I try was good. Only bad thing is the waiter have no idea what hes serving, he dont know how to say 1/3 of the things on the menu... But definitely worth a try.

Wanted to love this place but its hard to love 6 bones in your sushi. Yes, 6. I spotted 3 in one slice, so I plucked them and moved on. Then I spotted another 2. Until of course I found yet another, except this time poking the roof of my mouth. Ive never found bones in my sushi before; and Ive been eating sushi for at least 10 years. Needless to say Im shocked and Im never going back to Sushi Chef.

This old family business has a really good menu, they have a extensive variety of sake, very traditional and fusion sushi options, it has a japanese market, the place decor does not impress at all, it need a make up very badly I know Enomoto San, hes a very good chef, also his creations, I believe is the best sushi around the area but definitely overpriced. Its a place for lunch.

Best sushi restaurant by far, great sushi and sake selection. If you want to expirence great Japanese food this is as close to Japan as you can get. Great place to bring dates and it has a souvenir shop. Also the waitresses are very beautiful especially Katia. I only have one suggestion to the owner, is to please add TAKOYAKI to the menu. Then it will be 100% perfect

I would say thee BEST sushi in all of FL. This place is so underrated, hidden in a neighborhood that not too many people know about in FL, Parchment. Great sushi! Its very intimate but its great that way. If youre in the area, shopping around, definitely stop by and come eat at Sushi Chef Japanese Restaurant & Market.

I ended up here during one lunch and now I am one of their regulars. Food is super reasonable, fresh, and YUMMY!!! This is authentic Japanese owned, not those Jap Restaurant owned by other asian ethnicity. Give it a try, you just might be the next regulars. ; )

Decent sushi place. Nothing special. Didnt feel much like a Japanese restaurant where the staff greet you on arrival and when you leave. It would be nice to see some of that Japanese politeness in this city where that word doesnt exist..

At a first glance, the place itself does not impress. When I came here for the first time, I was with a friend of mine who lives here. I was surprised by the food quality. Best sushi in Miami, no doubt. Prices are very reasonable.

Google wont let me do a 4.5/5. Amazing food, amazing staff and a lot of varieties, but what keeps me ordering more often are the prices as theyre a bit pricey. This restaurant is good for a once a month visit at the very least.

THE FOOD PLEASANTLY PRESENTED AND SERVED. THE AMBIANCE WAS RELAXED AND UNASSUMING, CLEAN AND QUIET. THE TABLES WERE WELL SPACED. ULTIMATELY THE SUSHI WAS FRESH AND WELL PREPARED. ALL IN ALL IT WAS A SUPERB EXPERIENCE!

If you have a car and stay in Miami Beach, this is a great place to get fresh sushi for a normal price. We ordered a suhi platter to share for $45 and a large pot of green tee for a few dollars. It was a great meal.
