I shopped here this morning and waited over 10 minutes for someone to wait on me. Don, an employee behind the counter just looked at me and never offered to help even though thats his job. Another employee was walking past and asked me if I needed help. At that point Don came over and was complaining the whole time about how much work he needed to do and did not have enough time to help me. There was a manager standing behind me and I went to him to tell him exactly what was going on. When I went back Din walked away and refused to help me. Through all of his bantering, he was swearing and still complaining that he had to help me while he had other work to do. After I complain to the manager again, Don decided to go back to his workstation and have another employee help me. At that point Don said "F&$@ off". We spend well over $10,000 each year and groceries alone there. That does not include any gas or anything else that we purchase. I have been a loyal customer of Chinese goal for over 30 years. And this is how I am treated. He should be fired however he was still working as I was leaving.

I love this grocery store: selection of products, size, appearance, classes. Its far more than just a place to buy food. In the summer there is food outside to buy, local vendors can sell here. There are a couple gripes that I have. I know its a store where they test out different ideas to see if theyre popular or not and i have no idea if my complaint is apart of it or not, BUT: I hate the re-location of the self check-out machines to the middle of the store instead of the outer lanes....it makes "running in real quick" more cumbersome especially since the old locations arent going to a good use. Also, the fact that when Market District decides to take a product and highlight it, they dont leave any of that product in its normal/regular location, its annoying. Regardless if its avocadoes or canned green beans.... if you want to have your fancy display...by all means have at it! But please either put a sign where they normally are, or just leave a small amount where they normally are so for those that have the place memorized we arent walking around lost trying to find a new location.

We have a Giant Eagle one mile away in Moon Township, but we drive to the Settlers Ridge Market District because it is simply superior to most grocery stores. The ethnic food areas, prepared food department, beverage department, cheese department and selections of gluten free, organic, or whatever specialty items for which a shopper may be looking cannot be found at most grocery stores. People can pick at specific issues like prices or have a bad experience with an individual staff member, but all in all, Market District Settlers Ridge is a superior grocery store that provides more options than almost any other grocery store in the Pittsburgh area.

Four stars in comparison to other Giant Eagles and grocery stores in this area. Its definitely very clean and presented well. They have the largest selection of all products compared to other grocery stores. The aisles are quite frankly annoying. I dont think it flows very well. I agree with other reviewers that staff are pretty much not available and I cant say theyre particularly friendly (not rude but not super friendly either). The prepared foods are pretty awesome. Im from up north so if I compare this particular store to a Wegmans Id have to give it three stars, sorry! Wegmans is outstanding.

Why do you make it so hard to order a fruit basket?!? I stop in and they dont have anything to show me and always seem to be busy, so the next time I call ahead and now between myself and the catering lady we cant find any pictures online of what she is trying to sell me and its different than the ones that are on the Giant Eagle website which doesnt have pricing either. If this wasnt so difficult I would have bought four baskets already, but now Im just frustrated and you lost sales. Why you dont equip your catering team with emails and a simple way to order is beyond me.

I love this store. The bakery is fabulous and the butcher shop/sea food area is like having my own "strip district" in my back yard. I have heard a few people people complain about the size of the store--but sorry, not me--Im a foodie. You cant give me too many choices or too much of a shopping experience when it comes to fresh home baked breads, fresh flowers, great meats, even ready-made meals-- and world of other goodies. I feel lucky to have this store near by. Ive added "Market District" as just another one of the "great things" to brag about in Pittsburgh!

Ok just moved here from the Maryland side of the DC area . Guess I was super spoiled there because Harris Teeter Safeway Giant all have Hot Deli Items that are super good and the Safeway has a Just for U program where you get a 1 off gas so does Giant on top of there No clip coupons in the programs. They also give away free Cuisinart based on what you spend you got coupons to save up then you got free stuff. This Giant Eagle saw a little similar but really could not even touch the deals I got or the quality of the in store cooked deli meats ?

Perfect example of less being more. The store is so jam packed full of stuff its unnecessarily hard to navigate and looks very cluttered and messy. I like the fact that it has a lot and a lot of interesting things but the presentation is horrible. The store is massive but the aisles are closer together than a normal store. It also has a lot of sections that meet at strange angles that cause a lot of stopping and backing up. The idea of this store is so good but the execution is terrible. Hopefully a remodeling in a few years can fix it.

Overall, Ive been impressed by the selection and atmosphere of the store. Easy to get to and ample parking. The staff wandering the floor are usually fairly helpful. My one issue is they definitely need more hand-held baskets at the entrance to the store. Plenty of carts, but when you are going in for a quick trip, a basket suits better. Going in one entrance, seeing no baskets and walking to the other end of the store, still seeing no baskets is frustrating. Have let management know about this issue nearly two years ago, but no changes.

I love this place! There is always such amazing choices for lunch. The marketplace area offers a variety of foods, things you cant find in every grocery store. They have an awesome organic selection, it is pretty pricey though. They also have cool events here, which is alot of fun. Kinda cool too that there is a bar right there in the store. The classes they offer are fun and sometimes theyll have a celebrity chef there. If you have the time, go through this store for a long time, so you dont miss anything!

The pharmacy is horrible! Im stuck using it because of my insurance, but the customer service is the worst. All the pharmacists are rude and not helpful. I have called to see if I could get certain medications in the drive through window and then waited for 30 minutes to finally get to the window only to be told I have to come in! They try to force generic on me when I want the brand name. Literally every time I go there something is wrong with my order. Really all around bad experience.
