They might be good at selling you overpriced items, but they suck at bike repair! I have an expensive bike I bought in for a tune-up a few months ago because after heavy use it was dropping the chain and not changing gears. Explained the issues on the phone as well as in person when I dropped it off. They looked it over and said I needed a basic tune-up, which I paid for. Picked up the bike when it was done and immediately went out for a mountain ride with a friend over an hour away. Once there I couldnt even ride the bike out of the parking lot... it was still dropping the chain and not changing gears. Called them back and they told me that the tune-up, they said it needed, might not have fixed the issue, there may be something else wrong. They wanted more money to re-diagnose it/fix it, I wasnt giving them any more money. I have since brought it to a reputable shop in NJ where they looked it over and told me that everything was out of alignment and the derailleur needed repair. They fixed it and the bike rides great now, no thanks to Action Bikes and Outdoors.

Great bike shop!! Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful. The shop is under new management and I was a little worried at first because I really liked the old manager. I think they were a little under staffed when the old manager left ( like a deer in head lights). But I wanted to give them a chance because I have always loved the shop. They have really made some great changes. I think the shop is even better now then it has ever been. It seems like the previous posters went to the shop right after the old manager left(from the date of their posts) and they were going through some changes then but they have seem to have come through them and they are now back on track. Like someone said they should have updated their web site that they are permanently closed on Wednesdays and I did mention that the last time I went in and they said that they had forgotten and that they would fix that problem. They also mentioned they are in the process of moving up the road. Closer to me!!! This is still my favorite shop and I have been to all in the area.

I just wanted to take a couple of minutes of my time to let people know of my experiences with action bikes and the owner TC Crawford ...My name is Chris I am the ex owner of the shop... First off Tc is a first class and one of the most open and honest guys I know at this point in my life... Witch made the transition of the shop to him very conformable for me... He is technically most capable bike mechanic and bike and paddling enthusiast around . He has a lot of years in the business and has crazy passion for the bike industry ! Witch is easily seen by how nicely he keeps his store layed out and stocked. He is the guy I would highly recommend over anyone . I guess the best way I can put this is . If i had a guy like him working for me when I owned the store I would have never sold action bikes...

At one time there was great promise for a new local bike shop in Milford. Being an avid cyclist, I was very happy Action would open in town. A disappointment is not close to describing how poorly the shop has fared over the past couple years. Almost no inventory, staff who are not customer friendly, an absentee owner and other poor treatment really has left much of Milford disappointed with the present arrangement. The worst part, after having spent mucho $$$ there, no calls to say "your bikes done" or, "your repair is more than expected" and "we no longer will honor the work or warranty of our bike suppliers". Rude and crass counter help, an owner with a "tude" all add up to NOT gonna shop there anymore.

Just had an over and above customer experience with this business that I wanted to share. I purchased a bike for my two children last night. On my daughters bike, I was unable to get the training wheels on due to the axle bolt being too short. Obviously, my 6-year-old daughter was heart broken as her 5-year-old brother was able to ride his new bike. Even though I didnt purchase either bike from Action Bikes, John Troyan got me right in and took care of everything. My daughter is ecstatic and Action Bikes now has a customer for life!

5 out of 5 stars. I highly recommend action bikes and outdoor in Milford. The owner TC really went ABOVE and BEYOND to help me when he loaned me the pedals off his personal bike so I could complete a charity ride while I waited for my new pedals to come in. After the sale TC was happy to make several adjustments to my pedals until we got them just right. A wide selection of bikes, quick accurate repairs and an honest approach to business makes this a bike shop worth driving the extra mile to get to.

Had my bike fixed while I waited, no problems, no glitches. Changing cables may seem like a simple task for a bike shop, but if youve ever had a bad experience with shops that cant seem to get even simple adjustments right, you know how comforting it feels to have someone you can trust to work on your bike. The knowledgeable staff/owners, makes going there a great experience. Whether youre in the market to purchase a bike, or just need expert service, youre "in good hands" at Action Bikes and Outdoor.

I just bought a new bike from Action Bikes and I have to say, WOW! The information and support was spot on. I love my new bike and have never had such a great buying experience. T.C. and crew are attentive and never pressured me to buy anything. One of the great things about living and working in the area is when the owners and staff of a store get to know you by your first name and are considered friends. Long live Action bikes, will be back soon for biking supplies

I never had a issue with this place. I own a 06 Haro X1 Backtrail pro BMX bike and I needed a few spare parts so I naturally went to Action Bikes considering it was the only bike shop around. I needed front wheel hub bearings, fork bearings, and a few adjustments. I was shocked at the price only being $27 for everything. People are friendly, and to be honest I still go there for tips and advice in repairing my bike. Awesome bike shop.

Great shop for bikes and all things outdoors. TC and staff are knowledgeable and work hard to ensure you have a great experience. Great customer service, great line of products. Action Bikes and Outdoor built me a custom bike, kept me within budget and made sure that every detail was taken care of. I feel fortunate that they are my local shop.

My girlfriend and I stopped here during a weeklong bike tour from MA to PA. The team at Action Bikes was super kind to us – they offered route advice, helped us fix a couple issues with our bikes, and gave us some much-needed encouragement after a wet few days. These guys love what they do and want to help others have fun, too!
