Was out in the burbs riding with a friend when disaster struck with my road bike. Long story short, I brought it into Bike Works. They diagnosed the problem and called me quickly--all of the people I dealt with were very friendly, unlike the fixie riding hipster douche bags that inhabit many of the shops here in Philadelphia. There was an oversight when ordering the parts for my bike, so Bike Works had the parts overnighted at their expense just so I could get my bike back by the weekend. Really great bunch of folks at this shop, and very skilled mechanics. Wish I lived closer--they would be the only people who would ever touch my bike!

Bought my first mountain bike in close to twenty years. They put me on a bike that was two sizes too big. Probably because it was the bike they had in stock and wanted to get rid of it. What did I know? I was new to the sport and trusted the professionals to put me on the right bike. Next I bought a commuter bike from here and managed to get no discounts on accessories. Instead I had the privilege of paying full MSRP retail for a stem and M520 pedals. Really? This stem and pedal set are really worth $90? Wow, what a bargain! I really tried to support the LBS but will spend my money elsewhere or find a better shop.

This shop should be a 5 star spot! Great service, knowledgeable, and they do all the things that they should. However, there is one thing holding them back... MR. ED! This self-described "owner" is really just a manager on an ego trip. He will talk down to you and only sell you what he wants to sell you. After trying several times over the years to work with him, I have given up hope. If you want great service at Bike Works, stop by and see Jason or Joe. They both know their bikes and parts and will listen and help you. They will sell you what you need, not what makes them the most money!

Serious expertise. Satisfied customer for 10+ years with a stock and custom road bike. I use them for all of my repair service work including lifetime adjustments. Local bike shops stretch to fill a wide variety of customer needs. For the avid cyclist, theyve got a fine combination of experience and resources. They stand behind what they sell (which isnt so common these days) and perhaps thats one possible reason for "upselling". Ive also seen them downsell higher priced components when they believe theres better value. Bikeworks is an excellent local cycling resource.

This place is fantastic!! These guys not only know how to help you find the right bike, they know everything about bikes! Everyone in the shop rides and can help answer any possible question you have about any bike or any accessory. They have a great collection of apparel too. Amazingly they will even match online retailers prices which is unheard of outside a big box store. There are people in Harleysville who live there in part because of this bike shop. great job Ed, Jason and the rest of the staff! Thanks for all your time and help!

Mr. Ed, Jason and Joe are all great to work with. Each has their own specific pool of knowledge. I know that I can ask questions and they will give me answers. I enjoy debating with Mr. Ed. He has always given me good advice, but in the end it is my decision on how I act. He has up-sold to me, down-sold to my wife (based on our level) and the result was perfect. I have recommended this shop to my friends/coworkers and will continue to do so.

CHEATER, We put items on consignment with this bike shop and were told we would receive cash for our consignment items. VERY WRONG... we then receive a call that one item sold and we can come pick up our gift card.... What! We only received a gift card good at the store only! NO DOLLAR VALUE!
