I am a local Hellertonian and am adamant about supporting local businesses. I am signed up to participate in the Philadelphia LIVESTRONG Cycling event tomorrow. In anticipation of the event, I took my bike to Saucon Valley Bikes for a "tune up". I explained some of the issues/symptoms that I needed tended to. I picked up my bike late on Thursday evening, and unfortunately did not "test" it out until late this afternoon [Saturday]. My bike is in much worse shape than it was before I took it in to be repaired. I cannot downshift from 3rd into 2nd unless I shift all the way down into 1st and then quickly shift back to 2nd; I cannot shift from 2nd into 1st period! In order to shift into 1st, I have to shift into 3rd, increase my speed and then quickly shift down into 1st. Also when climbing a hill in 2nd, the chain keeps slipping. I have called every bike shop in town and it is too late on a Saturday evening! Now I cannot ride in tomorrows event!!! I am going to tell this story to as many people as I can, and needless to say I will never use this bike shop again!!!

SVB is hands down the BEST bike shop in the Lehigh Valley. I have had my entire familys bikes in for tune-ups year after year, and have yet to be disappointed. The staff are all very friendly people who take pride in their work, and are glad to help with any issue you may have. Nothing is cheap nowadays but these peoples goal is to help you find whats right for you, not to take your money. These guys/gals are bicycle PROFESSIONALS, not "bike nerds". The owner, Steve is truly a great guy if you take a minute to talk to him. Ive been to every shop around here as well as shops around the country and I have yet to find ONE that compares to SVB. Save yourself some time and head straight over to these guys before considering another shop.

Great service and much larger than expected. I had an excellent experience here. They mounted my tubes and tires onto my rims for no-charge and didnt try to sell me anything. This place is way bigger than it appears from the outside. They occupy the whole building - first floor is a showroom with hundreds of bikes, and the downstairs is the service / repairs department. They really know what theyre doing. Very clean, well lit facility and they are very, very knowledgeable. I needed some expertise, and they delivered

Horrible experience. Wife went in there for the first time today to have my daughters new bike tuned up. Yeah, ok, we are not "bike enthusiasts" or part of the "biking culture"; we are moving to SF and want to get into the biking lifestyle. But this guy - oh no - we dont do that, we wont do that; almost as if asking the question was a total insult to him. Eyeballing my kids like theyre trying to steal something. I get that youre a bike nerd, but why act like a prententious pr***. I hope your manager gets wind of how you treat people.

Saucon Valley Bikes is amazing!! This summer Im participating in a nonprofit called Bike & Build where Ill be biking across the country working on affordable housing. Everyone at Saucon Valley has been nothing but helpful, kind, and supportive! Before beginning training for Bike & Build, I knew nothing about cycling, and they have helped me every step of the way! If youre looking for a great cycling shop with attentive, knowledgable, timely, and all around great customer service and pricing, Saucon Valley Bikes is the way to go!!

Im your typical Internet shopper. I avoid the brick and mortar shops mostly because Im a penny pincher. But when it comes to my favorite sport, these guys are worth any perceived extra costs. Sometimes the internet hits me with information overload and I just cant make up my mind. Its nice to have an established store that I can turn to and tell them, "Hey! This is what Im looking for, please give me something that will fit the bill." Go ahead, put the onus on them, I havent been disappointed once.

So I had a little issue last year with the service/repairs , but Ill put it on communication and the fact that Im basically riding an antique!...I love my bike. Anyway, water under the bridge. I went in today to kick tires. Owner operator was honest, knowledgeable and upfront. I really want new technology from my ride now. If I buy new, I will absolutely go to SVB!

Picked up a bike for our 6 year old daughter, quick and easy. More expensive than a Wal-Mart brand but you get a years worth of complimentary service and adjustments along with a 25% trade in guarantee. I think its important to support your local Main St. businesses. Nobody misses them until theyre gone!

One of the best bike shops I have ever visited. The guys there know their stuff and have really good prices. Ive had a few mods to my mtb and honestly so far everything they have recommended is above and beyond my expectations. I highly recommend this place... - JJ

Went in six months ago to buy a trail bike. Guys were easy to talk to, I told them what I was looking for / looking to spend and found the right match. They were quick in assembling the extras I wanted added to the bike. All questions answered fully. Great shop!

Terrible -- First question from the owner was asking about a 29er was how much do you want to spend..... If I was making my decisions solely based on how much I wanted to spend, then I would buy from Bikes Direct over the net and save five hundred bucks.

The owner is a complete jerk. I was friendly, nice and pleasant just dropping my sons bike off to get fixed and he was unnecessarily rude and jerky. Find somewhere else to go who needs to be treated like that.
