Every time my wife and I walk out of this store we say we will never return. After our last experience we will NEVER return. Unless you are spending a significant amount of money every employee in that store is rude, unprofessional and totally lacks customer service skills. Performance Bicycle is a chain and all they are worried about is the amount of money you are willing to spend. I went in there this past weekend to buy some bike shorts and had the most rude/smug gentleman take care of me. This store tries to up sell constantly. I understand why they do that and do not have a problem with it. What I do have a problem with is that when you say you are not interested in something Performance Bicycle takes it personally and becomes very rude. First, the products this store sells are average. Second, this is a chain and I would personally prefer to give my business to some of the family run stores in the LV. Third, do yourself a favor and go to one of the family run stores (Genesis, Action Wheels, Cutters) for better products and better service.

I love shopping here. I go in just to peruse at time to see whats on the clearance racks. I find the staff to be extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Theyll ask if I need help but never give me the hard sell. Theyll even just talk to you after telling them that you have no intention to buy at that time. The employees all seem to have a love of cycling as well. Ive been there enough that many staff members recognize me. Ive only started cycling in the past few years and theyve really helped fuel my love for the sport. While I prefer other local shops to support local business, it doesnt take away from the fact that this is a great place to shop. I bought 2 of my bikes from local shops and we bought my sons at Performance. He had his choice and the one he liked best was from here. Also, just a quick note that their Spin Doctors are top notch and usually 2 Thursdays a month, theyll have a lesson where you can come in and theyll show you bike maintenance and answer your questions.

Im a fan of Fuji bikes, but no store carries them in NY. Alex, Martin and Mike were very helpful in ordering the right size and working with my limited availability to drive out to pick it up from NY. Great experience, they didnt try to up sell or sell additional accessories. Very helpful and stress free experience. When I got to the store to pick it up, it was just more of the same. I didnt catch her name, but the girl who helped me get the bike, and the additional accesories I did need was great. I told her what I needed, and she went and got it for me. If there were choices, she helped with the choices. When I had told her entry level on an item, she simply showed me my choices and let me decide providing information only to help me make a good decision. Alex was patient with me and adjusted my seat a handful of times before I felt it was right. Just a great experience.

Their prices are better than the internet and the local stores for many bikes and some other products. Its my preference to shop here but thats exactly what it is: personal preference. Yes, they are a chain and do try to up sell but if you state that you have a specific budget and dont want to go over it, how can anyone make you? Also, lifetime free adjustments on all cable parts and a $60 2 year maintenance plan is a ridiculous deal for the money you spend on bikes from this store. Im a customer here originally because I bought a bike off craigslist that was purchased here and they continued to honor the lifetime adjustments without care for whether I was the original owner. No receipt checking or whatever. I owned that bike for 2 years and for 2 years they took care of it. Honestly, thats pretty rare. Thats what made me stay as a customer.

We have taken our bikes to Performance Bicycle in the Airport Road Center 3 or 4 times, now. Every time all the staff was courteous and helpful. Me, being a woman, who knows little about bike mechanics was impressed by the mechanics willingness to take time out to explain things, offer different options for what needed to be fixed immediately, versus things that could wait a bit. They also too their time to come up with a price estimate so I could make an informed decision. The workmanship stands up. I wholeheartedly recommend this bike shop.

I am new to the modern world of biking but not ignorant of how businesses or salespeople operate. I saw nothing of what the last reviewer wrote. Place was clean well stocked and had enough reps on handle to handle the flow. I was helping someone pick up a bike and ended up getting excited enough to seriously consider buying one. Found their prices to be quite fair compared to the internet. I cannot speak for anything but bikes themselves. Have not price compared any accessories yet.

I found the staff there to be very helpful and knowledgeable. I did however, have to wait for the guy who helped us (who happened to be the manager) to finish his conversation with a girl who worked there before he acknowledged me even though I was standing right in front of him which did irk me a tad, a "be right with you" would do, but after that he was attentive, advised and assisted. We left happy with our experience there. Would recommend it for sure.

This was my first time buying a "real" bike and was the third store I checked out. So glad I shopped around because Ive found a great bike at a great price. They answered all me questions, helped me compare options, and made sure I bought the correct size frame. Im picking up my new bike next week and cant wait to start riding.

Really terrible customer service. I like to ask a few questions when I am deciding but they always act like you are bothering them by doing a little research. Tech section is pretty terrible. Overpriced parts, inept techs. My bike was actually worse AFTER service. I think I had one legitimately marginal experience.
