Have just purchased a new Fuji Grand Fondo and am really enjoying the new ride. I explained to the staff that as I approach 72 I was no doubt going to be buying my last bike and I wanted to be really sure about. They were very patient with all of my questions and thorough with their answers. On two different occasions I was allowed to take a bike home to try it for a couple of rides to make sure I would be satisfied. After returning the first bike (felt the frame was too small) John and Sean set up a Grand Fondo Classico for me. After several rides, I was convinced this was the one. John, Sean, and Dave were great in making a number of adjustments for me. Everything from installing a new neck extension, swapping out the stock Oval wheels with my Ksyriums, and changing the saddle to exchanging the stock 11/28 cassette for an 11/32. This whole process took several weeks and a number of visits but no matter with whom I spoke they were always polite, professional, informative, and prompt in providing the service I and my new bike needed. I have already been out on several 20-30+ mile rides and have absolutely no doubt that this was a great decision. Thanks again to everyone for their assistance....John, Sean, Dave, Rick, and Spence.

I bought a bike from this shop last year and had a great experience. I have since stopped by the shop a few times a month to get odds and ends and the have always gotten the same great service. I get greeted by name a lot of the time and if they are not slammed, the staff have been happy to chat about local rides and events. If I have a question about a new component or piece of kit, the staff relate both the positive and negative and dont seem to try and sell me something I dont need. Service wise, Ive brought my bike by-either on rides or by car for some trouble shooting and the wrenches at this shop have made adjustments (a couple significant ones) and sent me on my way free of charge. (and I dont even have a service contract with them...) Ive brought my bikes in for serious servicing twice and both times they were on time and on target. I cant be happier with them! Darrin, Chip, and August ROCK!

Went there to buy a bike, got great service, very helpful and friendly. Love my bike. Went in a couple of weeks later to buy pedals, shoes and a bunch of other stuff, couldnt get anyone to help. Definitely got the feeling that if youre not buying a bike, they dont want to be bothered. I was really disappointed. The guy that we finally got to help us (after we went looking for someone), wound up selling me pedals and road shoes that apparently arent compatible. I was very specific that I didnt know much about them. Got home and found that the cleat stuff to attached to my shoes doesnt fit. Performance isnt the closest to me but I thought it would be worth my drive. Now I have to make a special trip (almost 2 hours round trip) to take back shoes &/or pedals which means itll be at least another week before I can try using this style. Very disappointed; no basic customer service.

Let me qualify my review. I own a big dummy cargo bicycle. I do not own a combustion vehicle. I travel from city to city with the the racetrack in an 18 wheeler, then while Im in that city I only use my bike. Out of all those cities, this is far and away the best bike shop. When I picked up my bike from getting work done, the bill was so low, I started asking questions because I thought they couldnt have done it all. They did and they did it right. The best my brakes have worked since it was new. I told them I probably needed a new rotor. No , it just needed fixing. They could have jacked me and I I would have never known. Good people. Theres not enough good people in the world and heres a whole passle in one spot. If youve been trading with some downtown boutique bike shop, come on over and youll throw rocks at your old shop. Theres a creek down the road, got some good rocks.

I bought a bike 3 mos back and it was missing parts that the owner swears isnt missing. shop owner promised to call the manufacturer and follow up, now 3 mos later i still havent heard back after talking with the shop multiple times and giving my number multiple times. If you know what you want then shop here to get a rock bottom price w/ no taxes otherwise the service is terrible and support is terrible... honestly its like buying a bike from walmart. I use REI in PA and they ended up resolving my issue in 2 weeks and always kept me in the loop and couldnt be happier. REI even properly adjusted my brakes also as it seems the performance bike shop folks didnt set the brake correctly so you really had to pull before it engaged. The REI shop was shocked and fixed it asap and corrected the riser handlebar as it was "rising" in the wrong direction... unbelievable.

Good selection and good prices. Unfortunately they give very poor maintenance and service. I recently rode my bike over 5 miles to get my back wheel trued. I had purchased my bike at that store and I knew that truing of wheels is a part of the lifetime free adjustments. Unfortunately when I got to the store, the employees were not aware of this and when I showed them a printout of the webpage with the lifetime free adjustment details, they seemed skeptical. The two employees proceeded to tell me that while my wheel needed to be trued, it was not a simple problem and that I would be charged $19.95 in order to fix my it. I said again that I thought it would be free but they confirmed that it would not. I left the store and rode home completely dissatisfied.

If you know what you want, or are in a bind and need a part, this is the place to go. You must be an informed/attentive consumer or else theyll get you on the wrong sized bike. Bought 2 bikes recently, and one didnt even have the front wheel in-line with the stem. Upon checking them at home, very few to no bolts had the proper torque applied (critical with carbon frames) so proceed with caution. Choose the right time of year and you can get a good deal if you know EXACTLY what youre looking for. An hour of hard research online will put you beyond the expertise of any sales rep.

I shop online at Performance Bike with no issues. However the two times I went to the Newark, DE store the service was not acceptable. The first time I wanted to return something by UPS because I dont live near there. That took 6 weeks of phone calls to make that happen. On my second visit I waited at the register while someone was working with a customer looking at shoes. The employee ignored me standing there holding a bunch of stuff to buy. After 10 minutes I left the store buying nothing. My local bike shop will benefit from their poor service.

Called to see if they were busy, they said they could help me, come in. Came in around 6pm needing a new tube and tire. The gentlemen working were all helpful, kind and knowledgable. Very professional shop, when I have more time to browse for gear, coming back! Thank you so much. The prices are half of that of Main St Bike shops, pure enough reason to come visit. Large selection of parts, trip meters, pumps, etc.
