The very first time I visited ENU YEARS ago(back when your ram choices were 30 or 72 pin simm chips), I was thoroughly unimpressed. Couple of years later I visited again, and it was worse. Just a couple of years ago I went back in, and they were SOOOOO Much better. I buy 90% of my computer hardware from these guys. Not always the best service. Prices might be a bit higher then some places(but the difference in gas would cost more then the savings), their RAM prices however are ALWAYS the best. If you are the kind of person who returns alot of stuff due to it being defective, then this is not the place for you. Unless its still new in box unused without any issues whatsoever, and return it within a couple of days youre fine. Any other returns and they SUCK! This combined with one or two guys who have a chip on their shoulder sometimes, and the undeserved arrogance of half of their staff keeps them from getting a 5 star rating from me. The kind of person who will visit this store is the kind of person who knows exactly what they want, and are more then qualified for any computer work. Check the website for pricing and availability. If they have what you want, go in, buy it, pay for it and walk out. NO BS 95% of the time they have what I need in stock. For the first time in 4 years yesterday they didnt have something in stock.

I was excited to check this place out since I had heard good things from family about this local computer parts depot. I learned my lesson. Know what you want precisely before you go and dont expect help from the person behind the counter. Play by those rules or you leave yourself open to spending your time writing the manager after your purchase even if you think youre not the type of person to ever do so. I was having a good day and dont generally make a point to find problems with people or establishments I encounter throughout my day. First impression of ENU was disappointing, albeit they do have parts.

I visited the ENU Inc. location on NE 122nd (May 13). The store was a bit plain and simple, with a small selection of hardware on display (quite a few small to mid size PC cases, a few large cases, some mid-range hardware under a counter). The clerk said they had a bit more in the back. The clerks talked with my friend and I about hardware for a while, they clearly knew their stuff and cared about PCs. The stores markup from online prices was noticeable, although not above average. Overall I was satisfied, but not convinced to buy anything. Maybe Ill come back another time.

Looking for pci expansion card for adding IDE controller to allow direct transfer moms old hard drive to newer computer. Able to get card at very good price plus a couple cables necessary to power old drive off new computer. Staff took time to help me find right cables which were a somewhat unusual combo. Very pleasant to deal with and knowledgeable. I wish I lived in same area as mom when it comes to meeting needs right away. Best Buy and radioshack required online and wait for it to arrive. Store is a real find for quick solutions in this order on the internet era.

Zack is amazing! I am ignorant when it comes to parts and installs. I am a website developer and rely on my computer working very much. I came in and was able to tell the representative I worked with exactly what I wanted. Zack sounded very knowledgeable of what I had and what I needed to accomplish my goals when I brought in my system. I walked out spending a good price for the products I received and the knowledge that went with supplying me the product. Good selection of computer components and accessories. I bought a Samsung 840 SSD which was reasonably priced. Yes, I could have gotten it cheaper online, but I wanted to get a 2nd opinion from the folks at ENU and I wanted to support a local business. I was able to get solid professional opinions minus the forced upsale that other big box retailers push on you. I recommend this place if you need help with quick off the shelf components, accessories, and/or upgrades. I do recommend performing some research and coming prepared as to what you want.

The staff isnt keen on talking about hardware with you or answering questions. They fully expect you to do all of your research before you come in and they want you to know exactly what you want. The staff rolled their eyes to me when I was waiting behind and older guy who was asking questions, and were answering his questions with single words; "Yeah." But they seem to have a decent selection and reasonable prices. Taking the bus here from downtown is a bit of a pain in the ass.

Great prices compared to other local stores. They keep prices low by having a small and plain store. When I need a computer part that I cannot afford to wait on shipping, I buy it at ENU Inc. I make a general practice of never returning items (because its usually a pain and the store may lose profit), but I had to return an item because I misdiagnosed the problem I was dealing with. ENU Inc.s return policy is amazing and hassle free!

When a professional in Portland needs a computer part and needs it now, theyll go to ENU without exception. Absolutely the biggest selection of parts around and a staff that knows what theyre talking about when they make recommendations. Just as a warning though, this place isnt like Best Buy with aisles to browse through, so its best to know what youre looking for before you come.

My uncle used to shop here when he needed various things at his networking job, and I remembered it when I found myself missing a couple essential screws for my motherboard. The gentleman at the counter not only found exactly what I needed in about five seconds, he didnt even charge me for it. What more could I possibly ask for?

Ive been recommended this place a few times after a well known computer thrift store/nonprofit didnt have everything I needed. But, this place is actually quite small and didnt have a common adapter I was after. Prices seemed kinda high as well. Atmosphere was homey and the person across the counter was very knowledgeable.

The store itself isnt that bad. They stock a variety of computer parts and accessories. The only issues I had are 1. the people there are far from personable 2. they dont carry much in the way of custom or modding stuff..I would like to see more custom/modding stuff in the store.

If youre going to buy computer hardware locally in the Portland area, ENU is a must! Ive been going to ENU for 16 years for my hardware needs and theyve always been great. If they are out of something, they will give you great opinions of what they have that is good.
