Im new to the area and I had to leave my daughters bike behind in Texas when we moved. She had been begging for a bike so I decided to take her in and try and get a good quality one instead of a cheap Walmart bike. She instantly fell in love with a beautiful little white and teal bike. They let her ride it around the shop a few times and helped me set it to her size. Then came the helmets. Looking at the helmets, $30.00 for a good helmet that will protect my baby lol.. Im a single mom so I dont give $30.00 away easily but this was for her. Well, after all was said and done, with all the discounts they gave me and the assurance that when my child grows out of her bike I can trade it in, we both walked away extremely happy we went with Gresham Bicycle Center for our purchase. Not only did we get better customer service than I ever would have gotten anywhere else, but the atmosphere and the fact that they genuinely seem like they dont want to just charge out the ass for everything made Gresham bikes the only place I will buy bikes from now on.

I felt the customer service from the owner was very poor. I went in to get a flat repaired on my stroller for the second time. It is a simple repair which takes ten minutes at most and costs $10. As I had been in earlier that same week, he stood to make a quick $20 off of me in one week. However, he was pretty rude to me and stated that his kids were unexpectedly out of school for the day and that he didnt have enough time to help me. He said in a not so polite manner, "You know maybe I should teach you how to do this yourself." As a single mother with a three month old baby, it is easier for me to make a quick stop at a bike shop while out running errands than to take the time to figure out how to fix a flat stroller tire myself. He said he could help me if I came back later, but I opted to not return to the establishment.

Recently my sons bike had a slow leak that needed repair, and the guys sold me a tube and let me use a wrench and their air and let me do the work myself for $4 ( the cost of the tube ). Two weeks later I had the same experience with my bike, and they came out to show me how to properly align the tire when putting it back together. Again, $4. The next day the same tire that had the punctured tube ripped, and they gave me a great price on 2 new tires, which I took home with one new tube and fixed myself. I will be buying some safety gear here, and I will consider Gresham Bicycle my go-to place for all my biking needs. Good service, practical assistance, and good prices.

I had heard bad things about this place and their lack of skill from several people but I had to try it myself, what a mistake. I took my bike in for a general going over to see if any issues were found and have a stripped out bolt removed from my brake lever and a basic tune up. All I received for my money was a couple turns on a screw on the front derailleur, they never remove the bolt from the brake lever and none of these technicians happened to notice that my rear tire had a leak in it and was half flat. What a waste of time and money. I would suggest anyone needing Repair work of any kind find a more competent shop to take their bike too.

We went to the store twice and were treated well by knowledgeable young men. I am profoundly deaf and they were patient with me and were great. We ended up buying two Giant brand bikes that we love. They discounted one bike as we got two and helped us find comfortable seats that they also discounted. Fenders were no problem and easy to install. We got home and found a small tear in one of the seats that they are replacing. These are our go to guys now for bikes, repairs, and parts. We bought two bikes from Costco on line that were a nightmare. Dont make that mistake! Go to people who know about bikes with the knowledge to fit you.

This is one of the most helpful shops Ive been to in Portland. They also carry a ton of parts in stock if youre in a pinch or are building a new bike. Competitive pricing on special order parts too. Very impressed and highly recommended. Regarding the bad reviews on customer service Ill leave you with this, stupid people get stupid answers to their stupid questions. Having worked at a shop for several years I can assure you the techs have their patience tested on a daily basis. Have some compassion for those who are trying to help you because you cant help yourself. From what I can tell this is a great shop ran by true bicycle enthusiasts.

I was impressed with the size of the shop, and the number of bikes/accessories. But the owner "Kent" was extremely rude to over half of the customers who came in. When people waved money in his face he seemed to respond well, but for many of the customers in the shop who asked questions, he would be sarcastic or outright rude to them for not understanding. Poor customer service... Hopefully this was just a bad day for him, I will be going back in a week or two. Also, compared to some other shops, this one was a bit overpriced. Search around for prices before committing.

After embarking on a Oregon Outback tour from Portland, my partner blew out his sidewall near Troutdale. We hobbled back to Gresham in the pouring rain to this shop, only to find the employees totally uninterested in our plight. Both staff were more concerned with selling panniers than helping out two tourists in need. When we finally got a new tire from them it was over-priced by about $20 and they were very indignant when we asked to borrow a stand, so we set up shop below some BMX bikes on the floor. Not a shop to go to unless you are totally desperate or a BMX rider.

This was my second bike from this shop, my last one from 09 got jacked. I like the non elitist staff, that knew about biking. I spent more than I intended, but was not sold anything (for the record I am financially conservative). They matched a couple of bikes to my style from 500 to 1500, and I came back after checking out some other shops. I opted for a full suspension bike this time, and a better lock to keep it! Luke was super cool. If you want to get crawled on by some Portland hipster staff, this may not be the place.

The store has a great variety of equipment that is nice, but its the store manager that kinda ruins the atmosphere. Hes not a nice guy unless your waving money in his face or you know what your talking about. -Im relatively new to biking And I do not know much about it, but the last time I came in to replace my derailers he was very very rude about what kind. The employees are not very friendly as well. Would not recommend this place for new bikers like myself!
