This is the worst bike shop in the Flushing area. They overcharge for merchandise and services. If you have them do any bike work they like to charge additional fees. Multiple times I stopped there to get a bent wheel repaired and every single time Ive gone, before theyve even picked up the wheel to see the damage, they say "well this is a twist and not a bend so youre going to have to buy a new wheel" which was quickly followed by the cost of a new wheel being ~$60-$70 along with ~$20 for the cost of installing the wheel. So what did I do? I said ok thanks, and went on over to Peaks Bicycle shop (just over on Northern Blvd and Douglaston Pkwy) where, not only did they fix my wheel (I thought it was a twist and needed replacement? Apparently not), but they only charged me $20 for the repair and truing it. The last time I went to Roberts I had hit a terrible pot hole which left me with two flats and I had a biking trip planned the next morning. I can honestly say I didnt want to go to Roberts but it was the only shop open in the morning. I went right when the store opened with the intention of having both my wheels trued (if they needed it) and to get some replacement inner tubes. Now for those of you who dont know, truing a wheel is something that should only take, at most, 10 minutes. The truer the wheel already is the less time it takes, so if your wheel is already in good shape it only takes like 2 minutes. This guy started filling out drop off sheets as if I was going to leave my wheels and pick them up the next day. He just opened. The store was completely empty. This is something that takes a few minutes, why in the world would I be dropping off my wheels? Not only that but he was going to charge me $17 dollars for each wheel. What a rip off. I literally walked out (with my wheels of course). Last time I went to Peaks to have my wheels trued, not only did they do it for me on the spot, they didnt even charge me for one wheel because it was already in such good shape, the other one cost me $10.

Stopped in here on a whim to buy a bike lock since we were passing by. Very surprised by any reviews that complain about the people here being unfriendly. We had a great experience. Our small daughters were getting into everything, wanting to try out the bikes, ring the bells etc. and the owner just smiled and seemed to be getting a kick out of them. Even though we dont live nearby, we ended up purchasing our daughters bikes here for Christmas, because the owner seemed so nice and knowledgeable. We ended up having to return the lock we bought, because of a manufacturers defect with the key. We walked in and they gave us a new lock right away, no questions asked and tested the new lock to make sure it worked properly. When we were there we also noticed that one of the men that works there was helping a boy whos father had just bought him a new helmet. The man was taking great care to make sure that the helmet was fitted properly, adjusting all of the straps for several minutes to make sure it was on perfectly. I dont usually write reviews, but in this case I was very impressed with this business and would definitely recommend it.

i originally gave a glowing review for roberts bicycles, but now im not so sure anymore. i DID get a good deal on the bike, sure, but their assembly of the bike and the installation of components really really sucks. the lockring threading on my fixed gear bike sheared CLEAN off the hub (because it was cross-threaded), so specialized replaced the hub for me. i picked up the bike from roberts, and one of the guys installed the cog as well as the lockring. the lockring was fine this time, but guess what! the cog was cross-threaded and now impossible to get off unless i destroy all the threading. needless to say, i have to bring the bike back to the store, but you know i wont be coming back any longer. buy a bike here (great prices), but assemble the bike yourself.

Poor customer service. I brought in my bike which had a broken derailer, snapped chain, and bent hanger. He said if the hanger needs to be replaced it will cost $80 max if not less. I come to pick up the bike and they said it was $95 even though the hanger didnt need to be fixed. Should have been close to $65 like they said. The guy behind the counter argued with me quite a bit. He said the prices didnt include labor on the estimate they wrote up. I would avoid this place at all cost. It seems like they are just trying to get your bike in and then they change the price on you. I was so mad and I called another local bike shop and they said they would have done the job for $60

Good service, knowledgeable, no complaint what so ever. Prices are great, especially when your bike has warranty. Any problem, they will fix it for you. ---------- After doing some research online, I settled on the Specialized Sirrus. I went to Roberts and found that price listed there is cheaper than the MSRP on Specialized website, about $70. (It was on sale, probability clearing out old inventories for next years models.) I paid a small deposit, $5, went in the next day and the bike is assembled and ready to ride. The bike comes with one year of warranty, if any thing happens, I can bring it in and they will fix it for me.

Went to inquire about adding parts to my bicycle and let me tell you it was not a pleasant experience. I walked in with my parts and asked for help and they immediately gave me some sort of attitude as if I had done something wrong. All I wanted was help in assembling my bike so I needed somebody with experience in assembling bikes. but the guy who attended me started talking to me as if I was a moron like it was my job to know what THEY know. I went for HELP and didnt get any. In the end customer service was terrible.

I bought a brand new Diamondback bike from Sports Authority and since they are in my neighborhood gave them a call to evaluate my bike and just tighten everything up for me. They said they will charge a tune up fee of $50 plus parts. For me, that sounded way overpriced. I dont know what their pricing are on bicycles, but this amount seemed ridiculous for just an evaluation and tightening of a new bike or maybe they just dont like people bringing in bikes from elsewhere.

I found this place on craigslist originally looking for a specific bike on clearance. Turns out the bike was sold already. Since i was open to different models, Robert was able to assist me and answer all the questions i had about specific model. He was very honest in his suggestions and even worked out a phenomenal deal on a brand new 2014 Giant Revel 29". Very satisfied with my purchase, the prices are unbeatable. Highly recommended bike shop.

Bought my first bike from this local bike shop. Maybe it was a mistake buying from Roberts as the I had a problem with the chain after some light use. They did not honor their warranty, or service agreement with less than one year of purchase. I brought the bike in, and left it with them. When the I returned they gave me my bike back in the exact same condition with no tune up or fixed chain.
