In June 2013 I bought a 2003 Chevy Cavalier LS Sport 5spd from Select Motors for a ridiculous $6,000 ( talked down from $6,300, book was $5,600 ). It was a nice clean car with 74,000 miles. The sales guy was nice and not pushy which I appreciated, but unfortunately the car was completely troublesome. I figured for the cost that it was perfectly sound. The car was also sold with a free 7 month/unlimited mile warranty. Well to start off, the illiterate sales guy could not even spell my first and last name even with it on 3 or 4 papers on the desk with my name printed. Aside of that, the warranty company was of the most useless I have ever dealt with. They would not work on it and had attitudes on the phone. Anyway, this was a problem prone car and here is my experience. The 5th day I had it the clutch slave cylinder failed, I limped it home until the clutch was completely inoperable and ended up stranded. I also had a check engine light and the passenger side window motor failed a day before. I called them and they came and brought the vehicle back and did their repairs. I got it back free of charge as expected, but with no paper work and the sales guy pretty much rushed me out of there. Later in fall of 2013 I ended up needing to replace the power window motor the supposedly fixed ( I suspect they got a used salvage yard unit ) and the clutch master went out on it. Cost me about $450 so far here. I also had to replace the front tires as they wore badly. Turns out you need to drop the subframe suspension to replace the clutch slave, and these bastards never told me the car would need an alignment nor did they have it aligned after this. So now I had to replace tires that only had 8,000 miles on them. Now and then the clutch locks up, as if the throw-out bearing does not function right. A good mechanic friend is pretty sure they did not use a clutch alignment tool when doing the clutch slave. This has caused quite a few sit-stills at red lights until the clutch pressure released enough that I could push it down again. Also in fall 2013 during an oil change I noticed that there is red fluid coming from the transmission and engine combine area. My mechanic friend claims this must be due to a poor re-installment of the new mystery brand slave they put in, probably pulled from a rotted salvage yard doner car also. That or they screwed something up when putting it back together and the bearing shaft has a leak. So I need to keep adding transmission fluid to the car every oil change, it is going to cost me $900 to have fixed plus alignment....... Today, I crawled under the car for an oil change and to inspect suspension components for wear, and I see the 15mm bolt for the starter is about to fall out. This needs removed when the transmission is separated from the block... The damned bolt was finger loose!!! Youre telling me that youre mechanics dont properly torque bolts to spec??? How long do I have until the transmission grenades on me on the highway from your repair work!!! Overall, Cavalier cars are nice for fuel economy, and daily driver winter cars. But not when these Select Motor Cars so called repair men fix them. All I see through my experience with them is they fix and repair on the cheap side, and sell problem prone cars doctored up. They do not provide you with a CarFax or an Autocheck record which is lousy, they did not replace the faulty parts on my car with brand new equipment, and I am sick of still dealing with these drive train problems with the car. I should have filed for a lemon law claim because the way I feel they should pay me my money back and take back their vehicle with its handy-work. You folks will not ever get my service again, and I am going to look into my options for lemon law. Folks, dont over pay for their fallacious vehicles.

Let me just start out by saying though these cars may appear to be a great deal due to their low cost and 6 month warranty compared to the bigger car chains with only a 30 day warranty, this place is a bunch of crap. I do not recommend this place whatsoever. Not only when I had bought my car back in April, the check engline light had come on a week after driving it. They would take it, and the problem still wouldnt be fixed. Whenever they said they would call me back to schedule a time to fix it, it would never happen. Six months went by still having these issues with the engine light. They ONLY reason why I had gotten a call back was because I was asked to delete my previous post about how crappy of a sales Rep. Ray Leonard was. Dont get me wrong, the mechanic is fine, I didnt SEEM to have a problem with him, or so I had thought. I had gotten in a car accident 9/22 because some guy ran me off the road. When I had taken into my Towing person he then put it on the lift so I could see the damage. Let me start out by saying the car was completely totaled. But not only that being the problem, there was an unbelievable amount of rust on the bottom. And the thing that pissed me off the most, I was the told the car shouldnt have even been sold! There were NUMEROUS holes in the frame that werent even savagable. And the back part where the tires are; the frame part was spray with foam (like if you were to patch a huge hole in a wall. You get the sticky scared tape and then you spackle over it) Yeah, this foam was painted black so no one would tell the difference. There was also a hole in the gas tank of which looked as if someone put puddy over it. The exhausted was soooo incredibly rusty that it had been cracked (probably causing the engline light, even though apparently the whole exhaust had been redone- only the front was). The point is, whether they actually "didnt see it" or did those things, they obviously didnt properly inspect the car. They just threw it on a code reader. Also, this car wasnt even ready to be serviced. Ray had slipped a form saying the evap codes werent ready into my warranty packet. Nothing but a huge disappointment! So my recommendation is, if you want to gamble on their lies, take it to your dealership(you can request dealer plates to go do that) and put it on a lift and THROUGHLY inspect the car. Or dont buy from here. (I have proof in 15 photos).

Lousy, pushy salesman. junk over priced cars that are nothing but lemons. All the cars look like theyve been repainted by an amateur body man. They Sell you a bullshit waranty through company that should be named "scam artists" they dont like to return phone calls as promised and they dont take care of their customers. They take forever to do paper work and cant even have the car ready on time the day of delivery. I gave them multiple chances to make things right and they just kept screwing it up. Nothing was getting done untill i threatend to get a lawyer involved. I Would never recommend anybody to this stealership. Not even my worst enemy. Nothing but shitty auction cars doctored up and put on the lot for a ridiculous price. Owner hides behind his salesman and makes them do all the dirty work. Terrible place, terrible service. Service station is a joke. Stay far far away.
