My experience was amazing! The staff at Gazelle Sports provided the best customer service I have ever experienced anywhere! I had a pair of shoes that I had run in a couple times and realized they were a little to small so I took them back, Tom refitted me as well as provided me with excellent information about how to improve my running experience via the proper fit of the shoe. After a very thorough refitting, to ensure my satisfaction, I was off running with a more comfortable pair of shoes! Shoes can be expensive, Tom was sensitive to that fact and did his very best to ensure I was getting the best shoe for me. Tom also informed me of different socks that are available at Gazelle Sports but did not try to hard sell me, he was genuinely giving me the best information he could about how to improve my running experience. I did not get any socks but it does seem like a good idea when I am at a more advanced level of running. At this point in my life, buying experience and supporting local is very important to me and I will certainly always go to Gazelle Sports of Grand Rapids for all my running needs and wants.

Since this review was left here weve contracted the store and resolved the matter in the form of a full refund. I believe this was mainly due to this review process. We then purchased another pair of soccer shoes from Gazelle. Original review copy below. July 23 we bought a pair of Nike Mercur Vapor VI for $190 for a high school soccer player. Now (October) theyre ripping at the instep and were told by Gazelle theyre worn out after 12 games. Not sure if its Nikes poor backing of their shoe or Gazelles lack of will to work with us, but were done w Gazelle after being a loyal customer with them for 15 years. Having played soccer for 30 years plus myself (grew up in Europe playing) I know that the newer models of shoes are a lot flimsier than the solid leather boots such as Copa and King. Our son pays for his own boots, and hes made a costly mistake with the aid of a Gazelle sales person. Know your product and dont sell inferior products. If you do, own up to it. Disappointing.

I went in to Gazelle Sports because I had received an email from them about a sale and sampling on their nutrition products. Specifically, I was interested in trying gels/gu. I wanted to be able to try the flavors before I bought them (as some flavors can be kind of nasty). The staff was very welcoming and helpful- I ended up being helped by four of them. There were no gel samples when I arrived, but I asked a friendly employee about it and she offered to get any flavors out that I wanted to try. I ended up trying six different flavors/makes. The coffee flavors by PowerGel and Gu were the best! Another guy helped me figure out how many I would want to use, how much caffeine etc... I had a great experience there. I would definitely go back! :)

What professional and nice people! The customer service here is really amazing! Niki helped me get some running shoes tonight and she was so friendly and knowledgeable about the products. I had several others help me in other departments and they were just as great! Although they were super busy tonight, they asked for my first name (and used it!) and were so professional in everything they did for me. The store was really beauitfully decorated too... I just wanted to hang out there all day. Im moving across the country soon and Im totally bummed I didnt find this store sooner (they dont have it in Oregon). Thanks Gazelle Sports! I hate to write this, as Gazelle does so many things so well. Had my 1st, disappointing experience there this past Monday. I drove a long distance to the store for a simple shoe purchase. I sat in the main shoe fitting area for over 20 minutes. There was one other customer there. The salesperson, who was just a few feet from me, kept her back to me the entire time I was sitting there. I finally asked her: "Can someone else assist me?" She said she did not know where the other staff were. She vanished, I kept waiting, she returned & again kept her back to me waiting on the other customer. I almost left. Finally, another salesperson came. I wont make the drive again.

Excellent, Paul knew his stuff. I had done a ton of research before going in and he knew what i needed right away. The only thing I did not like was that they will not price match and their prices were extremely high. I purchased one pair that I had found for $20 less online, but I was ok with that as I figured Id paid for his information and opinions. But another pair was selling fro $50 less online by several stores and they would not match any of them. I was not about to pay double the shoes were on sale for $99.99 as they were last years model.

I went there twice without purchasing anything due to their horrible customer service. Their employees were curt and seemed bothered to assist me (the ones that didnt ignore me). They didnt even give prior notice that they were shutting down their store early (to "set up for sales") so I ended up driving all the way out there for nothing. I tried to give them another chance but they cant get over their own pretentiousness to help out a customer. Not worth the price or effort.

It really is just the only place in Grand Rapids to go for a quality foot appraisal and fitting. Its old school when it comes to personal and individual attention, and its new school in terms of variety of styles and product diversity. The prices can be a little higher than in other places, but youre supporting a local business that supports the larger community, and you know that you have the best shoe for your foot when you wear it out the door.

I was sent to Gazelle Sports by my podiatrist. I have had trouble getting a comfortable fit, for some time. I walked out feeling very comfortable about my purchase, and wearing my purchase. AND with assurance that if they arent right, I should come back. Micheal waited on me, and I was so pleased with her help! I know where I will go for any needs that can be filled at their store. Thank you sooo much. I am looking forward to returning!

Id be hard-pressed to find a better place to shop for sportswear. Gazelles staff is top-notch when it comes to experience in a wide variety of activities, from running and hiking, to soccer and others. I trust them to the highest agree when looking for new shoes and other equipment, and I often find it quite difficult to leave without something in my hand. Despite working for a competitor, I still shop. I cant recommend them any higher.

Great customer service! The staff was very helpful in helping me select a shoe. Even though I am not an avid runner, I was not talked down to - as so often can happen in a specialty retail store. The salesperson helped me find the perfect fit, and was more than happy to bring out as many shoes as I wanted to try. Highly recommended, even for those of us who are only casual runners.
