Honda of Tenafly was not my first choice of the dealership for my Civics repair, its a bit of a hike for me. Recently I was getting ready for a memorable night out in NYC. I had a pocket full of money, and a comb in my breast pocket, I was looking fresh. I was on Route 80 just before the GWB when disaster hit. I blew out 2 tires! AHH, my night was ruined! My perfect hair has gone to waste, NOOOOOOOO! As I pull off and contact a tow truck the only thing I can feel is sadness., I felt sick to my stomach, all that time I spend prepping for a perfect night has gone to waste. As I wait patiently I spent a little time checking out my surroundings, they were grim, I started to feel vulnerable. Alas, my night is starting to look better, the tow truck has arrived! A man in his late 40’s hops out of the truck and in a creepy tone goes “where are you going?”, a blank stare came across my face, I had no idea where I wanted to go. I quickly pulled out my fancy new fan dangled phone and quickly searched a Honda dealership in the area. Boom a hit! Honda of Tenafly, I said driver take me there! The ride to Honda of Tenafly was awkward, we both tried our best at small talk, but nothing sparked, it felt like a bad date, except I couldn’t pull the “excuse me, let me run to the bathroom” and run away as fast as I can, I was stuck. After a 20+ minute painstaking ride we finally arrived at the dealership. Luckily My buddy was there waiting for my arrival, I can finally feel at ease. Fast-forward to the next day, I arrive back at Honda of Tenafly, show some love to my Civic then I head in to see what the extent of the damage is. Now normally I dread going to the dealership, I am always greeted by a disgruntled service writer, that seems to have a chip on their shoulder, But not today!! I was greeted by a very lovely girl named Miss Julia and her manager, Mr. Craig. After a quick meet and greet Mr. Craig commented on my perfect hair, Yessssss!!!! Mr. Craig has won me over; he knew the secret to gaining my confidence. Boom the Julia Craig team had my back, they addressed all my concerns; I was worried I had rim and front end damage. Miss Julia got to work instantly and put in a work order to inspect all the critical parts that could’ve been affected by the blowout. Julia’s vast automotive knowledge has kept my mind at ease, I felt great leaving my Civic under her careful watch and care. A day goes by, and I get a call while I’m at a local coffee shop, my car is ready! My Civic and my wallet has taken some substantial damage, the bill was high, but the damage was repaired. After settling the bill, I went to talk to Miss Julia and Mr. Craig. They gave me a synopsis over the phone, but gave me the full scoop in person, it was a lot to handle, I had to have Miss Julia explain to me what some of the parts were, because I never heard of them before, she was great, she broke everything down too easy to understand plain language. Once again the Craig Julia team has come through and addressed all my concerns. I am now a lifelong customer of Honda of Tenafly. The service is exceptional; the experience was exceptional. This has hands down been the best experience I’ve ever had at a dealership. In the end, I was able to find good in a tragic situation, without my very expensive double tire blow out I would’ve never gone to Honda of Tenafly, and I would’ve never met the Craig Julia team.

Heres the reasons why I rated Tenafly Hondas Service as Poor - Fair; I showed up at the time recommended for my vehicles free first Oil/Filter Change and Tire Rotation at 5000 miles (as per the terms that were expressed at the time I officially leased the 2013 Honda Civic LX back in February 2013.). I was not in the database as the owner of the vehicle - apparently their database was not efficient - they had the wrong year and model and that my wife was the owner. She did, at one time, lease a vehicle from Tenafly Honda, but her records superseded mine. Finally that was straightened out. I was then told by the Service Rep that I was scheduled for both the Oil/Filter Change and the Tire Rotation - but only the Oil/Filter Change was free - the Tire Rotation was not. I stated that this was not what was said to me at the time I officially leased the vehicle. The Service Rep then said she would take my word (as I took the Salespersons word) and that the tire rotation would now be free. I was told by the Service Rep that the service would take about 1 hour. 1 hour and 45 minutes later I was informed that the car was on the lift and that the service procedure was underway. About 2 hours after I first came in, the car was ready - however, I was then told that the tires did not need rotation (interesting, since they told me that I needed one and that they were going to do that initially when they told me it was not free - to me, this was a very suspicious act). The Service Rep was courteous and professional, but I did not appreciate the slow service nor their "switch" on the free tire rotation, which at first I needed (if I were to be charged) and then that I did not (since I was told they would do it for free - and then told me I did not need it). Subsequently, I called the Sales Rep (whom I initially leased the car from) and he informed me that the tire rotation should be done at 7500 miles and that one usually gets charged for it, but, because there appeared to be a problem and misunderstanding, he informed me to notify him before I bring the vehicle in and that he will arrange to have the tire rotation done without charge. I thanked the Sales Rep and will be calling him at the appropriate time to have the tires rotated without charge. I wish to express my appreciation for his honesty and willingness to set things straight - this is the most important reason why I will continue to place my trust with Tenafly Honda!

If I could give NEGATIVE STARS I would. I have never had such a horrible experience in my life. I got a call from another Honda dealership and asked tenafly Honda if they can match the price because the other Honda didnt have the color I wanted. On the phone, I spoke to SHADI. I shouldve known by his name this deal was Shady (pun intended). I took over an hour on the phone explaining to him that my lease was ending in two months and that I was offered to bring in my current lease and leave with a sign and drive for $205 a month. SHADI said the price was GUARENTEED only for that night (I must mention its 8:00 PM at this moment) and he said to come in before they close at 9:00 PM so we can do the deal and get the car. The price is GUARENTEED. So I take my handicap mother (who had surgery a few weeks ago) to the dealership with me (because the car is hers) and I get there at 8:30 PM excited to get the new car so I can go home and sleep for work the next morning. I get there and Shadi shakes our hand and walks away from us and were approached by an older gentleman named Frank. We were confused why we were transferred to someone who has no idea what our deal is that Shadi guarenteed. So i had to explain all over again what I had talked to Shadi about and what he guaranteed me. Frank said there is NO WAY that price is the price he can give and hes shocked that Shadi guaranteed that price. When we asked for SHADI to come around he would not come by and Frank didnt care to even help us figure out why Shadi GUARENTEED US THAT PRICE AND MADE US COME ALL THE WAY THERE FOR A LIE! They are LIARS. Do not waste your time there. Do not spend your money there. From a $205 price I got on the phone guaranteed sign and drive by Shadi with a take over of my current lease, it went to $1200 down for $225 a month and no take over of my lease. Are you kidding me? Why did I even bother coming here??? Frank was literally pushing us out of the door at 9 PM telling Us to call him tomorrow?????. Im sure he was giving us a horrible price just because it was late and he thought wed actually come back tomorrow. No way. Instead, they lost a customer that COULD HAVE BEEN LOYAL, especially considering we have several friends that have Honda leases. Thanks for absolutely NOTHING Honda of Tenafly, except for wasting our time at 9:00 PM and leaving my handicap mom in pain at that time because she was also very excited for the car.
