I am writing this to save your life and your wallet. I bought a 2003 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo from Ramsey Jeep. Even though they offered free oil changes, after the first two times, I never went to them again for such work because scheduling an appointment would usually require six or seven weeks of advance notice. Further, the dealership both times failed to provide me with a requested courtesy car ( when scheduling the oil change, they said it would take a whole day, and they would provide a courtesy car, but upon arrival, they did not have any to give me, and claimed to not know that I had even spoken to anyone concerning a courtesy vehicle). After these two failures of customer service, I decided to take it to a private mechanic for oil changes and any regular maintenance (brake pads, tire rotation, etc.). Several years later, I received notice that my Jeep was part of a recall notice.... nothing major, just that the seatbelts might not work! It took two-years and three months before Ramsey Jeep got to fix the problem. First it was that I was put on a wait list for the part. Then they lost the wait list. Then the dealership got the part, but never told me they did, and gave it to someone else. They reordered the part, finally got it, scheduled an appointment for me to come in, and..... gave me back my jeep telling me they didnt get a chance to fix the problem, and that I should come back in a week when they had their next available appointment. I was livid. But the next appointment came, and my seatbelt recall issue was finally fixed. After a few more years, my distaste for the dealership waned, and I decided to give them another chance. If you arent familiar with the 2003 Jeep GC, it has a manual stick shift for switching between 2WD, 4-wheel Full Time, 4-wheel Part-Time, and 4-wheel Low. I was not sure if it was a design flaw or if it was a problem, but since my earliest days of ownership, if I were to switch between 4W Full-time and 4W Part-time, sometimes the jeep would drive as if it was stuck in 4W Part-time. This basically locked the front and rear axles, making it difficult and dangerous to turn the jeep. I took it to Ramsey Jeep to see if they could give me an answer. They said everything was fine, which was ok with me. I take the jeep, and start driving back to work.... but my baby was feeling a bit stiff, a bit like it was dragging a trailer. I went straight to my private mechanic and he takes one look and tells me that the previous mechanic had overtightened the transfer case and that the gears had no room to rotate. I had had enough of Ramsey Chrysler Jeep Dodge. A relative of mine also bought a jeep from Ramsey Chrysler Jeep Dodge, a few years after I did. Driving down the parkway his engine caught fire. It was later found that during his last "oil change" the Ramsey dealerships mechanics never drained the old oil before adding more. In another incident, the same relative was driving when he started sensing that his brakes were acting strange. He immediately pulled over and called a wrecker who went to take off a tire and off came the brake calipers. The brake calipers screws were only hand tightened before given back to the owner. He was lucky not to die in either incident. Go ahead, buy your car from this place, but their mechanics are either incompetent or criminals.

Two months ago and during a service appointment they took a picture of a paint imperfection to send to Chrysler. Chrysler approved the repair, but nobody bothered to give me a call to inform me. Two months later I sent the dealership an email informing them I would contact Chrysler for an answer. It was then when they finally called me and I made an appointment to have to have it repaired. During the phone call Daynielle promises she would have a loaner for me since this is for a new truck purchased from them. The night before the appointment she leaves me a message confirming my appointment. When I show up to my appointment on April 22nd 2015, and after doing the paperwork for the drop off, I am told she never reserved a loaner for me. Thats it, no explanation, no work around, like I made it up. I had no choice but to ask for my keys and truck back. I called Daynielle that afternoon expecting her to make arrangements to get the job done. She practically ignored me saying "I talk to a lot of people" and said for any further service I had to talk to Josh, the gentleman that did the paperwork that morning. This probably turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The bodyshop that they use is terrible. I had the rear view camera installed on my Altitude and they had to redo the rear brow a second time because the paint had imperfections all over it. I can only imagine that kind of shady work done on the rear door I was going to get fixed. It has two small lumps under the rear door handle. I hope this experience summarizes what to expect from their service department. Regarding the sales department, the initial purchase experience was excellent. They offered me a fair trade value and matched the TrueCar price from another dealership. Over a month later they never were able to locate the specific model type/features they sold me (Altitude with upgraded speakers). At the end, I had to give up on the upgraded sound system so we could complete the deal. To be fair, my sales guy Nick was superb and handled himself in a very professional way throughout all the issues that we went through. Issues at delivery: car was dirty with grease spots all over, painted rear brow had several imperfections, dealer could not activate navigation (they said Chrysler dropped them from their dealership list), controls on steering wheel did not work, heated seats did not work. There was no quality control check in place before delivering the vehicle.

my experience with this dealership was both good and bad. I was very excited to visit the dealership (first one i went to) and purchase a new jeep. after almost 6 hours, yes 6 HOURS, i was finally able to obtain a great deal on the vehicle of my choice. unfortunately, by that time my insurance company was closed and i was not able to take my new jeep home that day, which was disappointing. had it not taken 6 hours to get a vehicle i probably would have taken it with me. although frustrated, it worked out as I had to have heated seated installed. therefore, i was able to get insurance and have that completed when i picked it up instead of having to go back. my salesman was very helpful when I picked it up and was sure to spend the time with me inside the vehicle to ensure I knew how it functioned and was comfortable driving it home. that was very appreciated as i had previously owned an entirely different car and was a little weary about it. so far, I love it. its a very dependable car and I hope to have it for years to come. The customer service afterwards, however, was not the best. I thought I had opted to transfer my plates but when I went to pick up my jeep I was told that i was getting new ones. No big deal, I went to the DMV to return my plates and awaited a phone call to pick up my new ones. I received a call and my mother actually made a special trip to pick them up only to discover that it had been put in as a transfer! would have been nice to know considering I had already turned in my plates. I was told that someone would contact me monday morning (this was a saturday) to sort everything out. I waited 3 days and received no phone call. I finally called and spoke to someone who assured me my new plates would arrive in plenty of time and I would receive a call when they did. 2 weeks later and no phone call. I again took it upon myself to call and was told they were in and had been for a few days. Interesting...because I never received a call. I was off of work all last week and would have loved to pick them up when I had all of this free time. Now, with only 2 days remaining for my temporary plate to be valid, I have to rearrange my schedule to go after work and pick them up because no one bothered to call me. very disappointed at how this part of my experience was handled.
