I go to this location for a lot of my pet needs. Between 2 fish tanks and a new kitten I feel like im there quite a bit. The fish section is one of the best you can find for Petco locations in the metro, but as all chain fish stores go, youll find some flaws. 75% of the life animals Ive bought (from ghost shrimp to danios/tetras) survives, and dry goods are well stocked. I frequently check to see if new items arrive due to the uniqueness of the product selection. If you havent been its worth looking around, plenty to pick from IMO. Cat section is very comprehensive, all the equipment youd need, and more you didnt even know you wanted. I go weekly to buy wet food and theyre always in stock and neatly arranged. Plenty of variety, and very clean. Overall, a great example of what a chain petstore should strive to be. The store itself is very clean and odor free, ive never had a bad experience towards that, but i also dont normally go during peak hours. Im unsure on the return policy, ive never used it towards live animals, but dry goods is typical and hassle free if youre honest.

A few months ago I took my 30 lb shihtzu mix to be groomed at this location. Her appointment was at 11:00 am and I didnt get her back until 5:00 pm. I was then told that it took so long because they had "walk-ins". Excuse me, but why am I making an appointment at your business if its going to get bumped? After we finally got her home she wouldnt move and was very lethargic. We first thought it might be because she was kept there for so long, but when her mood didnt change we took her to the vet, and found out that they had incorrectly cleaned one of her anal glands, and that it was swollen. No wonder my dog felt like crap. Today (almost 5 months later) I called to schedule an appointment for her at the same location, to try to give them the benefit of the doubt, as this is the closest location to my home. I was told that they didnt have her in the system, and that I would have to bring all the paperwork back in to get her scheduled. When I told the girl that there must be some kind of mistake, she was rude and snotty. I will NEVER visit this location again.

I went to this Petco location today and all of the workers there were incredibly friendly and helpful. The dog trainer on staff was excellent; she gave me a few tips on toys my maltese might based on the info I gave her, (that he licks constantly and but isnt a big chewer). She suggested a toy-dog sized Kong and some special sausage rolls that she buys for her dog stuffed inside. This toy is a huge hit with my dog and Im glad I bought it. I took my dog to the grooming area for a nail trim and the ladies there were helpful too. Since it was my first time in they gave me the nail trim for free, then they suggested a new slicker and comb for my dog when I inquired what I should use before I give him a bath. Both of these products are perfect and Im glad I purchased them. The other workers there were very friendly and stopped to pet my dog when we walked by. Overall, I recommend this location and intend to go back in the future.

We took our 65lb dog in for grooming services (bath, trim, brush) and were told she would need to be there for about 5 hours. We were fine with that and have gone through the process before. When we went to pick her up the only thing I knew they had done was given her a bath as she was still damp. She was still losing all of her loose hair that they didnt brush out and nothing had been trimmed. We called and they said to bring her back the next day and they would take care of it since we paid for it all to be done. My husband took her in and they told him it would be 30 minutes and they took her back there right away. An hour and a half later he went in to pick her up and she was still not ready to go. I cant believe the horrible service we received and we will never be back.

Purchased a new white pleco for my 10 gallon. It must of had ich (which I never seen before BC I never had it until I inquired at PetSmart which is the only place Ill go now) BC it died a day later and then all my fish got sick. Its taken a week to heal my danios and the loss of 2 of them. I will NEVER go here again. Ive had my danios 3 years and never lost one. From a pet store I expected more. I figured the coloring on the pleco was different BC I had never had a white pleco but it definitely had ich. Pay attention to the 5 star reviews. They are all within the last 3 months and without comments that tells me they are getting people to 5 star to up reviews. Take my advice only PetSmart!!!

The personnel were OK, but they kept my aged dog for over 7 hours, far longer than they had promised they would need. This is far longer that it was in the past, then usually 3 hours at the max. There has been a significant personnel turnover in the last year, and I am not pleased at all with the new grooming personnel. My dogs previous shave and groom there was lousy. She had clumps of unevenly cut hair all over. Todays shave and grooming was lots better, but still seven hours is ridiculous. Bring back Jason and the crew he worked with! I wont be coming back, after patronizing the store for nearly 12 years. Petco management really needs to do something!

I have never written a review for a store in my life, but my most recent experience involving this PetCo has inspired me to do so. I recently went here to buy a few neon tetras to add to my tanks school. Within a day, one of my new neons had died. The next day, another one of the new neons died. The following day, the last of the new ones died, and I noticed that both of my old neons were covered in ich. I dosed the aquarium with the correct treatment, but to no avail. Both of my neons (who had been perfectly healthy before introducing PetCos neons) died. I will never purchase fish from this store again.

Their prices are a little high. For common items like food or even cuttlebones you are better off going to Wal Mart, if you are willing to enter a Wal Mart. Their discount program is pretty good and easy to use -- unlike many where they make it almost impossible to use. Ordering online is an easy and inexpensive option that I would highly recommend. They provide discounts making their pricing more competive. Mostly, though, they have a good selection of fish and birds and other animals and can custom order anything you want. I have to take care to not spend more than I intend to.

This is the only place I will shop now when it comes to my aquarium needs. Hali in the aquatics department has been a LIFESAVER! I was in the store every day last week, whether it was to pick up something I needed or to have my water tested. She definitely knows her stuff and was willing to answer all of my questions and reassure me when I had concerns. I bought my plants, betta, and snail from them and I am so happy with the service I received every time I was in the store. I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Thank you so much to Hali for all of her help!!!
