There is not anything special about this pet store. Unfortunately, it is the only pet store on my way home from work that has convenient parking. Ive seen cups of dead fish, cups with beta fish living in dirty/green water, and the staff seems to know very little about pets, or the products they carry. Recently, they ran out of stock of my cats favorite food, so I bought him a different kind. He ate that, and when it was time to buy food again, I saw that his favorite food was in stock and on sale, so of course I bought it without a second thought. Got home, poured it into the air tight food saver bin to keep it fresh like I always do. Only, this time, kitty refused to eat it. I waited 2 days, tried a sample bag of another brand to test if he was just not a fan of the (usual favorite) food, or if he was sick. He ate the sample immediately. So, feeling pretty silly, I walked into the store to ask if I could exchange the food. (The store policy is that they will exchange or refund an open bag of food.) I explained all that I have explained above, and asked very nicely that even though I had poured it into a container, could they please take it back, and that Id be exchanging it for a more expensive bag of food... blah blah blah... no surprise, I was met with a bad attitude, and all kinds of remarks about how nobody has ever had this issue before, how Im the first person who has ever done this, and as she stood there rolling her eyes and shaking her head at me, she told me that the return policy says it had to be in the bag. Lucky for me, they have the policy by the registers, and I was able to point out that it does not state anywhere that it had to be in its original packaging. She reluctantly exchanged it for me, and I payed the $6 difference. Then more comments passive aggressively made in front of me to another worker along the lines of how shed have to figure out what to do with a bag of food not in the bag it came in. Ive worked retail management, too. I get it. Sometimes there are bad days, and we start to take business personal, but to make a regular shopper feel that bad about trying to get their cat food hell actually eat is uncalled for, and I wont suggest this place to anyone unless its a last resort, or too convenient to pass up.

Love this store, location, and staff. This is Cubbies second home, and the staff know us and welcome us with treats and love every time we go here (which is weekly). I used to go to other chain stores for baths and it cost me $40 every time. At this location its only $10 to spend quality time with my baby, and everything I need it provided (shampoo, conditioner, towels, blow dryer, nail trim if needed). I have been coming here for a year (since they opened) and I have never had to wait to bath Cubbie and have never had an issue with an employee or the store itself. I really like PSP, and when I went to one in the burbs I was so disappointed at how not friendly they were and their bath only gave me a little bottle of shampoo that really only covered his head, no towels or help, it was terrible. So not only do I love the company (cheaper than other chain stores by at least $5), but I absolutely love this location. Moving to the city from the burbs and having an amazing pet spot like this one is part of the reason Im staying in the location. Never busy, cheaper prices, AMAZING staff, and a fun place to come with my baby on a weekly/daily basis.

The workers and product selection are great. HOWEVER....The temperature in this store is unsafe for pets (who ARE in store), for food storage, for any other materials animals consume. Also, if you care about workers and maybe customers, people too. Its 94 degrees in there today. I measured it. This is a systematic problem there. Last summer, they played this off as well shucks the AC is broke. For a two month period, I gave them a break (though they can afford AC). However, its a year later. Not caring about worker health, customer comfort is one thing. Negligence of animals is abusive at this heat level. And doing that to food products they sell is beyond unethical. They dont care about people, animals, and they dont care about product. That sums up a failed pet store. Is what this business doing legal?

While the prices are good and the people are nice, the customer service sucks. On 3 separate occasions I tried to special order products, and all 3 times they failed to fill my order. Luis (?), an assistant manager, just shrugged his shoulders and said he could try reordering. No, "Hey, I know this is inconvenient, let me give you a discount since youll have waited 3 weeks for something that should have only waited 1 week for." I talked to the actual manager, he gave me an excuse (made up), but, at least, gave me the items for free. For some reason, every time I go to the store Luis is working, and every single time my order isnt processed. This store needs a major manager overhaul.

Its a small pet supplies store. For the longest time, I only knew the acronyms "PSP" and I knew the "PS" stood for "Pet Supplies" but couldnt recall what the 2nd "P" stood for. So I always called it "Pet supplies and...pets?" Anyway, about this location. Everything you see for sale here you can find perhaps 20% cheaper than you would online. I think except for the bigger items that would cost more to ship such as cat litter boxes or feeding dispensers, you can probably find most items 20% cheaper online.

We literally just purchased a Santa toy for our 10 month old puppy. He used it for like 10 minutes and the toy fell apart. The inside of it came out and the plastic squeaky toy and crinkly parts fell out. Our puppy was biting them and luckily I noticed if not he couldve choked!!! If you are looking for a Christmas toy, do not buy the $9.98 Santa. Huge waste of money!

When the store first open, I was excited to be able to bathe my dog there. Now they never have towels so thats a bummer. Ive been there 3 times with my dog to find out the bath area is close due to no towels. Today, I play it smart and call before, I go and guess, what, no towels.

Great addition to the neighborhood with everything from high end treats and food to kennels, dog grooming and even veterinary services. The staff is always friendly and pretty much every time I go in there someone has an adorable puppy. If thats not awesome I dont know what is.

Nice staff and the self service dog wash is convenient. The dog wash is not always stocked with towels and the shampoos arent that great, but for $10 its not a bad deal especially if you are trying to rinse sand out of your dog after a trip to the dog beach!
