Just had one of the best experiences buying my first fat bike from this shop. I think my thank you email to them sums it up pretty well. "Kevin, I really want to thank you and the rest of the guys for all your help yesterday. It is really nice to have found a place filled with passionate bikers that are happy to share their experience without making a new guy feel like an idiot. I learned more about biking from you yesterday than I have in 7 years of online forums and such. I will be sending my friends your way. THANK YOU!" Also, the single track trail around the shop is perfect to get a feel for your new mountain or fat bike and they have so many to choose from. I tested bikes for a couple of hours before I pulled the trigger and was never rushed. I was actually encouraged to ride more. Go get your fat bike today, it will change your life!

Im disappointed in the scheduling of my bike repair. When I brought my bike in to have a hub overhaul I knew it would take a while so I had called ahead and asked for how long the job would take. I was quoted 4 days at $25 per hub so I brought the bike in where I was then quoted $35 per hub and 11 days which I accepted thinking they may get it done early since it took only a few hours to have my buddies new drivetrain installed. It is now 12 days from my initial drop off day and have been told it will take several more days to wait for a part. I was also quoted now $100 for the entire job. Penn cycle can have my business back they at least are true to their price and timely on responding to questions and completion of jobs.

Super helpful. I am far - very far - from being on expert on anything bicycle-related. I went in to shop for a new bike after several years of not even owning one and everyone that I dealt with was very kind and helpful. The people who work here are very knowledgeable on all aspects of the bikes they are selling, and I never felt like they were talking "down" to me for coming in with very little knowledge on the latest in bicycle tech. I was also pleased by the lack of pretense by the employees. Everyone was very to-the-point and down-to-earth. They left me with no doubt that if any issues were to arise with my bike, they would be more than willing to remedy the issue quickly and happily. Very happy with Freewheel - EP!

I really needed to take the time to leave a review for this company! I was stuck going to an expensive place over in Chan by Houlihans and I could only do that once and then I started driving 45 minutes to go to Penn Cycle in Uptown. Once this shop opened I didnt have to go any farther. It doesnt matter who I am dealing with in there, everybody has been top notch from techs to merchandise sales people. I did the MS150 last week and the Freewheel was there and the guys working the wagon were just as good as everybody else I have dealt with! Great Job Free Wheel!

My initial purchasing experience from free wheel bike was not bad, decent enough people to deal with. They are happy the sell you a bike for a couple thousand dollars. However, if need to get any maintenance type work done to said bike....Dont expect any brake from freewheel. You can however expect an attitude from the mechanic who attempts to "quote" repairs. In fact, expect to pay about double what a neighboring bike store charges for the same labor services. Would never go back to spend my money there again.

After months of looking and comparing bikes I tried Freewheel Bikes because they had a bike I was interested in. My first sales person was great, but when I returned for test rides and fitting the second sales person talked down to me, rushed me, and didnt do test rides or a fitting. When spending nearly $4000 on a product that isnt a necessity in life I would expect to be treated much better through the process. I will return the bike and repurchase it at Penn Cycle who have always given me quality service.

Lots of good things about Freewheel EP. Im a Freewheel fan. = 10% discount on all purchased items, 20% off on one item per month. Good service, good advice on riding, maintenance, bike fit, etc. Good website. If you live in EP and are serious about riding, this shop can help you keep rolling. The staff is friendly and most really know bikes and gear. Those that have less experience will refer you to the ones who know more. No pressure, no guesswork. Management knows how to keep customers happy.

Came in from out of town on business and brought my bike so I could ride while here. Called yesterday (Saturday) to confirm that the 7:30 am Sunday was happening and that it left at 7:30 sharp. Showed up this morning at 7:10 and waited until 7:45 and no one showed up. I have the garmin file to show my ride from my hotel and back. If these rides dont happen, they shouldnt be posted on their site and confirmed by shop employees.

I stopped in at Freewheel in Eden Prairie while on a visit to the Twin Cities this fall. I just came in to pick up a saddle, and left with a whole lot more-- (mostly in the form of very relevant information on local trails and suggested rides). The staff were extremely helpful, capable, and friendly. If you are looking for a great local resource to outfit yourself to ride, this is it.

Just bought my first bike here. I know jack about bikes. The staff was laid back, but very helpful. Everyone else in the store (customers and staff) seemed to be very heavily into the bike world, but I still felt welcomed. Also got the hook up on deals. Highly recommended. A bearded bloke by the name of Andrew is the one I worked with most.
