I placed an order on 9/4 around 12PM CT and it took ModernBike 3 business days to prep 1 saddlebag and ship it. As of today I still havent received my package 9/14. A bike bag should take no more than 2 days to ship. Heck, 2 days is even a lot. Toss in padded bag, stick a label and ship. I realize it was FREE shipping and that is great, but prepping the package for shipment took way too long. Add to that a horrible carrier like USPS ( at least in NYC ) and the shopping experience just goes down hill. The excitement of getting FREE shipping goes way way down. I order bike products on a regular basis from stores and shipments are handled more promptly in my opinion. Perhaps its the # of personnel, sales volumes, who knows. However, businesses should work around this. For example, I placed an order at another bike store for 6 items on Friday 9/11 at 1:30PM and by this morning 9/14 I had already received a tracking #. It took them 1 business day to get the package on the road. This and their prices is why I keep going back to shop at this store. If the store cant handle processing shipments on a timely manner due to limited personnel or way too many sales, please consider charging $5 for expedited processing. Otherwise, consider assigning 1-2 people to prioritize orders with the least weight and of 1 qty. while other personnel pick tickets. Anything to reduce processing time to 1-2 business days. Theres just no reason 1 little bag would take 3 days to ship. Im not saying you shouldnt shop at this store, because it does have a good selection and its moderately priced. However, if you need something sooner than later, either opt for faster shipping or order from elsewhere. Hopefully your express delivery wont be sent 3 days later...that would hurt.

I had lost My VELO 5 Bike Computer back tracked looking for it and knew it was gone to keep giving time for years to come wherever it lies! Unless a human picks it up and knows how to use it and see the 1200 plus miles on it from doing 55-70 mile bike ride jaunts in one day! So I figured I would just get a new one and started to realize they dont make this one anymore Im so used to it after all these years that after seeing the new ones and calling all my local Bike places and getting no such thing etc. lines I went online to start a search for one left someplace in this world etc. so that is Amazingly Where Modern Bike comes in the pictures as they are the ones that had this NOS Piece waiting just for me as it goes so when I realized that was the only one left NOS on the Planet and free shipping and a good price to begin with I instantly order ASAP like I was playing a winning computer game and it came fast considering the Memorial day mail off day! So Thank You Modern Bike You came through and it shows it pays to advertise NOS Bike Pieces because someone will need to replace their Classic Bike Piece One Day! Thanks!

Extremely pleased by the merchandise, the prices, and the customer service. The items arrived quickly and on time. I had ordered the Surly kickstand plates and a 5 LED tail light with laser lines. The Surly parts are perfect; the tail light proved to be defective. I contacted CS and explained the problem. They sent a replacement, which has just arrived and is working perfectly. I have ordered from them again. The second order, a SOMA Saga bike frame, just arrived. Although the carton had been opened (the staples had been pulled and the the flap retaped with cellophane tape), possibly for inspection somewhere along the way, the packaging was excellent and the frame and fork appear to be in perfect condition. I am ordering small parts to be used in the assembly and do not expect any problems. Very pleased so far.

AVOID at all COSTS!! Horrible, crooked, experience returning a Surly front rack. Called in and made sure that I could return it. The guy said it was all good and they would refund it. I dont hear from them for over a week once USPS has delivered it, they didnt e-mail me either. The guy made all kinds of excuses over the phone telling me the card couldnt be refunded then that its scratched, then that its out of the return period. When I called they said they are issuing me a store credit that is 40$ less than the 112$ that I paid. They claimed there were scratches on the rack but if there were any they were extremely minimal and probably due to the matte paint job that was used in production. If you dont wanna waste your time go with a reputable online dealer.

I ordered a Tor Hans Aero Bento Box and it arrived with a crack in it. Maybe this damage happened during transit; not sure. The customer service at Modern Bike fixed the issue very promptly. I did not even have to return the damaged one, they just sent a new one. This quick resoultion was awesome because the new box arrived before the race I intended to use it for. If we would have had to mess around with shipping the old one back before sending the new one out, I would have for sure not had a box for the race. I didnt even have to pay shipping because of the damage. So, overall, it was a good transaction. The customer service is superb and the box gets the job done!

Ordered a set of Paul thumbies - and they didnt specify a bar size in the google listing. Apparently they only give a sale price on certain sizes - and that doesnt include the size I needed. Their phone salesperson refused to honor the sale price on an exchange (even of i had to wait for them to arrive, or be drop-shipped) They insist on charging list price. Apparently customer satisfaction and/or repeat business isnt important to them. Theyve achieved their goal - i wont be back. Oh, and i found the correct item on Amazon - for the same price they charged with shipping.

When ordering online I only expect 3 things: To get what I ordered, to receive it in a timely manner and to have issues resolved promptly. I received what I ordered and had no issues to resolve, but the shipping process was not prompt. It took 7 days for them to put the item in the mail. This is the reason I gave a 4 instead of 5 star. I understand that it can take up to a week to ship, but the checkout page said "Usually ships within 1-2 Business Days." Not a big deal since it is just a bike part, but you cant expect 5 stars with shipping that slow.

Having difficulty with my bike seat, I talked with Modern Bike. They helped steer me in choosing the right seat. Ordering was easy, shipping very prompt. The seat was great quality just as described on website. Sadly the seat did not solve my pain issues. I am age 70......could be a factor! I am returning the seat and expecting a full refund, less the shipping of course. Further review to follow if return process is not as verbally stated by Modern Bike. Should go well, as everything else was great!

Excellent customer service. They had a small inventory issue with my order so I spoke with someone via email who talked me through the products I ordered and we agreed to ship the items separately. They were responsive, gave me all the info about my order, and everything arrived when I expected it to (after the inventory issue was resolved). You dont get points off for standard operation mishaps when you handle them with excellent customer service. Will definitely return to this site again.
