I will not go back to Beaverdale Bicycles again. I had read reviews here on Google and assumed that this was a great place, yet it was not. They quoted one thing, then I received two calls saying they had to repair "extra" things. I originally went in and said it had two problems (the gear shifter not shifting and the back break not functioning). -I went to the store he didnt add my receipt up correct (15.00 extra) -He told me he didnt have the part he quoted me on the phone so he had to install a different one, more expensive, and charged me for it saying "youll like it better". -He never rode my back to test it When I picked up the bike and got home I noticed the back tire was flat. You would think that a bicycle repair would have tested it by seating on it and riding the last time to check to see if the problem was fixed and noticed that the tire was flat, yet he didnt. When I went in he starting telling me that there was no way he did it. After talking with him he realized he had made a mistake, yet wasnt humble and gave me an apology that he said he "might have taken air out to fit the brake on and forgot later to put air back in" A week later after riding it, the bike still has one of the same two problems that I went in for originally, the gear shifter. If he had ridden the bike just one time after repairing it he would have noticed the gear shifter problem and no air in the tire. He didnt. I was given a quote for $65 for a tune up, and ended up paying 115.00. I could have bought a new bike from Walmart for that price. I will go to a better place that provides exceptional service.

First time visit today. I enjoy visiting new bike shops and really wanted to like Beaverdale Bicycles. I didnt. Heres why. The person on the floor (owner?) was with a customer. No big deal. I can wait. Still, we never got a greeting. All he had to do was say hed be with us when he could. We would have waited. He didnt. He never even looked at us. Made us feel like he didnt want us in his store. Not good. We waited for about 5-10 minutes just to be sure we werent overreacting and when it was clear to us that we werent, we left and we wont be back. Weird, because I know how badly local bike shops struggle for business. Ive worked with several bike manufacturers and had the pleasure of visiting many, many shops. I know its a tough business. This sort of thing makes it much tougher. No joy in writing this review. Two stars for the bikes on the floor. Nice. Zero stars for the service because there was none.

Im not a one-bike-shop kind of guy, but I have found myself going back to Beaverdale Bicycles more frequently over the past year or two. Busy or not, the owners are generally eager to take the time to discuss all things cycling; Ive learned a lot from chatting with them. Ive found their service prices and turnaround times to be very good, their shop is well stocked with racks, bags, fun clothing, and a couple of bike brands not found in your typical Trek/Giant/Schwinn store. If you havent visited Beaverdale Bike yet, next time you need a tube or a tuneup, drop by this shop and have a look around!

My wife and I have both purchased bicycles from Beaverdale Bikes. This shop offers a friendly atmosphere and quality service. Ed and Jen are easy to work with and I have always been happy with my experience in this shop. I would recommend Beaverdale Bikes to anyone looking for a new bike. And if you are looking for a customized bicycle, this is definitely the place to shop. Ed has an eye for detail and can help you build up any bike you want.

Beaverdale Bicycles is by far the best bicycle shop in central Iowa, in my opinion. Ive been a customer since theyve opened and have always been treated exceptionally well. Every time I walked away from the shop, Ive learned something new. I have sent countless people in there, and they all have the same experience as I do. I will continue to be one of the biggest fans of Beaverdale Bicycles!!

Ed has been doing my custom Dyno Hun wheel builds and light systems for many years, and every one of those wheels is as solid and true as the day they rolled out of the shop. They also have a great selection panniers, touring supplies, etc. Ed and Jenn are some of my favorite people, and I love their shop. Highly recommended.

Great bike shop & service. Took my bike in to Ed to have the cassette replaced & a general tune/ rewrap the bars awhile back---& he did a great job; thanks Ed!! Also, it is a smaller shop so dont expect Bike World or Scheels---but personal & helpful folks with bikes, accessories & service.

While other bike stores gave a 1,000 yard stare when I asked them about replacing a friction shifter, the staff was knowledgeable and able to assist in the repair and overhaul of a early 80s Schwinn. Staff was awesome, suggestive, and friendly. Thank you so much.

Took a old custom Jeep bike in last year that we wanted road ready after years and years of storage. They did a fantastic job as most of the parts were not available and actually came in under original quote ! Customer service second to none....
