i took my passat in for a master cylinder replacement, and when i got it back, there was some sort of weird tobacco or something stuck to it in at least 5 places all over the body, there were new scratches on the side and hood, brake fluid had been squirted all over the engine bay and the rain tray plastic and somehow the rubber trim on the side windows, they replaced my brake fluid reservoir with a used one but now the fluid level sensor is broken and the BRAKE light comes on (never did that before) and the worst: the next day my driver front wheel was wobbling and i found a lug stud missing and 2 of the remaining 4 were so loose that they were about to fall out too. when asked they said they didnt take any wheels off of the car to flush/bleed the brake system, but i personally torqued all the lug studs to 90 pounds the day before. they said it was a dirt particle that made the stud loosen and fall out. well i put another one in and it hasnt fallen out or even become loose after hundreds of miles of driving. to their credit, the woman who answered the phone was polite, and the master cylinder hasnt blown up on me. i went there on the recommendation of all euro, a good oem parts retailer in royal oak. not their fault, but i wish i hadnt. i cant believe that all of this happened on my first visit. beware of this place.

Youd be crazy to go anywhere else My drive to work this morning was interrupted by the engine of my 2001 VW Golf MK4 sputtering and misfiring horribly, and the check engine light flashing. Worried that my plans for the weekend had been ruined by this unexpected car trouble, I asked my coworkers where they recommended I go. Two of my coworkers recommended AutoHaus and I can see exactly why they would recommend it so highly. The customer service was exceptional, and I was able to quickly schedule my car to be dropped off right after I called. The receptionist Arlene was very polite and knowledgeable, and was able to accurately diagnose what the problem was over the phone based on just my description of what had happened! They were very courteous and provided a loaner car free of charge while my car was being repaired. The repairs were very affordable and quality work, with AutoHaus giving me a call throughout the day to update me on the progress. Five hours after dropping my car off I was out the door, with the engine purring like new, with the total cost being much less than I had expected to pay anywhere else. In conclusion, amazing people, amazing service, amazing work, and amazingly competitive prices. Highly recommended. I will most certainly be coming to AutoHaus again for my next repairs.

I brought my Audi to Autohaus about 5 times for repairs and consistently found that they would charge me above and beyond what was necessary for simple repairs. I was far overcharged for them to simply reconnect a hose. Prior to one repair, I had vacuumed and fully cleaned the interior of the vehicle. After maintenance, my vehicle was returned to me with a significant amount of mud and dirt throughout the interior. There were smudges all over the sides of the doors and on the seats. Needless to say, I had to re-clean it. I brought my vehicle in after it had just passed inspection in NY (emissions tests etc) and Autohaus told me that my car actually had an emissions problem and shouldnt have passed inspection. The recommended repair was outrageously expensive so I got a 2nd opinion from another auto repair shop and found that it really was a sensor malfunction, not an emissions problem. I could go on. If you choose to go to Autohaus, just keep in mind the customer service is sub-par and honesty is questionable. If youre looking for another shop, Ive found Steves European Automotive to be leaps and bounds above and beyond when it comes to customer service and auto-repair quality and pricing. Its a much longer drive for me but I wont go anywhere else!

Jerry is a good man. I looked at an Audi of his, an A8. The car was gorgeous, super clean, a Florida car brought up from the Sunshine State. Jerrys son lives down there and brings cars up as there are so many more foreign cars down there. He took the time to show me every single thing about the car. He knew everything about it. Of course he does. He and his top notch mechanics are the creme de la creme Teutonic mechanics in the State of Michigan. He took the time to ride with me during the test drive. This is not usual. Most salespeople, even at thriving dealerships, dont take the time to drive the car with you. Jerry and AutoHaus know the cars they sell. This is crucial. BETTER than buying a car from the Audi or BMW dealership. MORE personalized service. A REAL German automobile repair shop full of all of the know how that goes in tow. Although I wasnt ready to pull the trigger, over nothing more than the color of the car, I knew that I would not be sold a lemon or bill of goods on a known rotten apple. Like any encounter with a used auto salesman, one goes in with doubts. But the more I think about my experience, the more I realize, this is the place to go when the right car for me personally presents itself at Royal Oak Autohaus.

Ive been taking my VWs to Autohaus for over 15 years and I traded my Jetta and purchased a Rabbit from them. Ive always been more than happy with the quality of their service and their knowledge. Theyve been great about telling me if they foresee a problem coming up and letting me know if I should take care of it immediately or just know its coming. Ive never felt like I was being uphold for questionable repairs for questionable repairs. I always leave with complete confidence that the repairs and maintenance have been done right. As to price, I think its very fair, especially since these are specialists in German cars who really know their business. And I can say that, at one point, my Jetta needed an expensive repair and they fixed it at half the cost of what a dealer quoted. And after a couple of years of trouble-free driving, they took that car in trade at a very fair price, so they must have had confidence in their own work! Smart and always professional is my experience.

Bought my vw and week later notice it was leaking coolant, took it to them to check it out and they just topped it with more coolant, another week went by and it was empty again, the guy topped it off with more coolant to the very top, I had to buy my own to fill every now and then. Water pump went bad, timing belt kit, and all. The car left me stranded on the side of the road till I got help. I believe the guy who just tried to "fix" my car by adding coolant was trying to prolong and void my warranty I paid for. I called and spoke to a lady to see if my warranty covered the damage, the lady on the phone said it would have but I was 10 miles passed my 3000 mile warranty. Ridiculous. I also tried to ask one of the guys to fix the door card light on my vw and he said he had to take the whole door panel off to get to the light. I messed around with it and had to just pop out the cover and switch out the bulb. Easy fix he could of least told me. Bad service.
