After recently purchasing a car from this used car department, I am able to reflect on the experience. An experience that extends beyond severely disappointed. This used car dealer is the epitome of bad namesake used car dealers. It began with my initial phone inquiry as to whether a particular vehicle was available or not. I was told by a sales rep that there was a pending deal on that particular vehicle, and they would call me if it became available. Now, I would expect a good sales person to perhaps ask some follow up questions with the intent of informing me of some other vehicles of similarity they may have which I may be interested in, but in this instance he could not get off the phone fast enough. So, the following morning I called again to see if the vehicle was available, on a hunch, and low and behold it was ready and available, and after never receiving a follow up call from my initial inquiry, I went to look at it anyway. Remember to head straight to the manager, the only person that can make deals. I arrived, took the car for a test drive, seemed to drive fine, and returned with intent to trade my car in and purchase this car. Long story short, the rep needed to know where I wanted my payment to be so he could under value my trade in, hike my rate, and extend my terms in order to “customize” my payment to my needs. After three negotiations back and forth in his office instance involving the rep returning to his manager for 15 minutes each time while I waited, impatiently and uninformed. Finally, a deal is settled. A deal clearly revolving around an agreed price based on some corrections to the vehicle before I pick it up. Long story short, I go to pick up the car, the “corrections” are not made, and according to the manager “they did the best they could” and no price adjustment would be made. The bonus was finding all the food and children’s happy meal toys I under the seats after I picked it up and it had been detailed. A lot of negotiating and a very very unfriendly environment.

Recently I received very very poor service from Troy Honda Service beginning to the end which I have to make a complain about it, I made it but received no apology at all!!!! First of all, I received a mail from Troy Honda reminding me to schedule my car maintenance service appointment. and so I booked an appointment online at 7PM Monday, on my busy schedule. I supposed to get confirmation by email but i have not received anything back from the service center. One morning my wife called to confirm the appointment, Troy Honda service center said, there was no appointment booked for 7PM. Service center booked a new appointment at 6pm but cut the phone without finishing the conversation. That was rude. My wife had to call again!!! Secondly, I have informed a service advisor, when I get to service center today, according to maintenance information message from Vehicle , Oil change and tire rotation was due and I have Honda Maintenance Care. He said I have to pay for the tire rotation, Maintenance care covers only oil change!! He gave me wrong information. I looked into service contact when I get home, Honda Maintenance Care covers tire rotation too! Now I have to book another appointment for tire rotation waste of my time!!! Thirdly, Tom Theisen, my sales advisor told me at the time of vehicle purchase, if I left my service history book on front passenger seat, service team will put date and stamp on it. which I left my service history book on front passenger seat, and i have found no service stamp on it. I have to make another trip to stamp my service history book up to date!! Fourthly, After oil change done, I got my car back but service technician did not reset maintenance information! It still displaying message on my MID Oil change and tire rotation is due’!! Now question to you would you recommend Troy Honda Service to your friend/family or would you go to Troy Honda for your car service again?????

Id give a no star if i could. A friend of mine, who speaks little English, has a 2013 Honda which is still under warranty. It starts to have rattling and humming noises from under the engine compartment whenever the car is in motion. We brough it in for an inspection at appointment time. We asked the clerk would the inspection be covered under warranty or not. No response from him. He then asked my friend to sign the working order without saying anything to us. My friend signed it. He said we have to leave the car there for 3-4 hours. Normal? Of course not. It defeats the purpose of having an appointment. Asked could they start sooner. No, unless we pay them $99 "extra". At this point we realized the inspection was not free. We were told it was indicated on the paper there was an inspection fee of $200. The fine print was so small that hardly catches your eyes. Wow, It would bring to a total of $299+tax just for a 10 minutes job. The point here was that we were never told that there was a $200 inspection fee when my friend was asked to sign the paper. We questioned about their practice of trapping customer into signing paper without mentioning the reaping inspection fee. They just kept on denying their wrong doing by saying rudely that we signed the paper. They just abused our trust on them. We left and called another Honda dealer in town. Quoted $50 for the same job. We are planning to file a complaint with BBB and Honda Headquarter.

I bought my 11 Honda Insight from them. Had not had a problem there after regular oil changes and maintenance until they said I needed new front brakes at just under 50k miles. I look like a hipster who would normally bring a car to a dealership instead of somewhere else, so maybe they saw I looked like an easy target for new brakes. Little did they know that I do car and motorcycle stuff all the time. I just get lazy for oil changes. In November, I bought new brake pads and went to change my pads... there was still over 50% of pads left on the original pads. I could go another 40k miles on these brakes. I then had to take the pads I bought back to the auto parts store. I truly believe they were trying to rip me off. When they said "you need new brakes, it will be this much." I said no. "well, youll need to do it soon." Soon, to me doesnt mean in 40k miles. I was so put off, that Ill be going to the Honda place in Bloomfield for everything now. Plus, if youre looking to get a Honda with Navigation, dont bother. The cheap Garmins and TomToms work way better, so dont waste the extra money on the Honda one. The built in NAV takes you the most round-about way to get places, and does not have a "fastest route" option. It only has "easy route" "direct route" and max or min freeways. Just not useful.

I recently took delivery of a 2015 CR-V, Tom Theisen was my salesman assisted by Tom Rezzepa the dealership manager. Ive been purchasing Hondas from this dealership of a long time and with the courteous concern for the customer and customer service they give, I will continue to buy my Hondas from here! Living in Canton, MI, I could easily go to other dealers but choose not to only because I know the level of service Ive received from Troy Honda. Just yesterday, I found a screw in a tire only to be told by a tire dealer that due to the location of the screw, it couldnt be repaired and a new tire would have to be installed. The price he quoted me, about sent me into cardiac arrest. I called Troy Hondas service department and spoke with Rich Smiley, Rich quoted me a price and said he had one in stock and said he could install it that afternoon. When I arrived, Rich greeted me and took the car in right away and I was out of their within the hour. Now if that isnt service, I dont know what is! I could go on about Troy Honda but I think Ive got my point across. Dont hesitate doing business with this dealership when buying your next vehicle, you wont be sorry!
